hard starting Kubota.

my Kubota L 1501 has always been a dream to start, but suddenly, it has become a bear, the starter turns and engages, but is very sluggish, and even when boosting from a seven hundred amp battery it doesn't seem to want to hit. gets plenty of juice, 'm a fair shade tree mechanic, but i really know very little about diesels . I'd appreciate any advice.

Might inspect the starter.

Clamps and cable on battery. Make sure there is a good ground and the cable is good under the insulation.

Is the 3 point hitch lever in the up position?
