Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I have one of the CP 1/2" electric impacts. Works for nearly everything I've tried, but I have found one or two badly rusted that it won't break.

That would be great! You could use HF item #98052 Money Miser Coin Sorter to count your earnings. :)

Although looking at the rating on that item, I think it belongs in the other HF thread.

Anybody have their folding/collapsible ladder as opposed to the Werner or other brands?

This one?

17 Ft. Type IA Multi-Task Ladder

We have one at the ranch and it’s been very handy. I can throw it in the bed of the Polaris Ranger and take it anyplace. The action is very smooth and it very sturdy.

We’ve also have a Little Giant ladder at our Richmond house. The HF was less expensive and every bit as strong.

FWIW ... posting a link, to the HF item your asking about, makes it easier for folks to help you.

I think they are similar to the other branded ladders, and if you can get them discounted they are worth it. Here's a coupon for $109.99 Harbor Freight Tools Coupon Database - Free coupons, 25 percent off coupons, toolbox coupons - 17 FT. TYPE 1A MULTI-TASK LADDER
I got one at Menards a couple years ago after comparing the two. It was a toss up, but Menards dropped their price and had their 11% rebate going the day I went to pick it up so I saved some money getting theirs. Great ladders though. Sturdy and handy.

I have the Little Giant as well, and find that the built-in wheels make a big difference for me when moving it around. Twenty years ago, I wouldn't have cared. :) All the multi-task ladders are pretty heavy to hump around, as another poster noted. The HF and Werner models that I've seen don't have them.

Both HF and LG weigh about 32# in the 17' models.

Decisions, decisions, decisions ....

HF has this on Coupon for $54.99, canopy only, no chairs: 1 ft. x 1 ft. Slant Leg Pop-Up Canopy

Northern Tool has their version for $59.99 including two folding camp chairs and no additional charge shipping.

I don't need it for a while, so waiting for shipping is no issue, but are the two chairs (that I could use, but don't really need) worth the extra $5? Yeah, I already know. Bigger question is about any differences in quality.

So has anyone tried the little benchtop bandsaw HF sells????

1/3 HP 9 in. Benchtop Band Saw
there's a lot of bad reviews on that site about it. if you do get it, buy it in a store so you can check the box for shipping damage. other points are the blade that comes with it is not wide enough to cut straight, a 3/8" wide blade has fixed that problem for one commenter, and the table not being level is another problem with an unknown cause.

Northern Tool has a better reputation for quality, and I always use screw in anchors to keep others I had down, else, it would blow away in a medium wind..

^^ Kind of wish NT would increase their store count. Closest one is about 80 miles and requires a trip over city roads I don't care for.

Don't feel bad. I'd have to go over 300 miles to nearest one.
Order on line...... Thinking the shipping costs would be a deal for me. 😉 And I don't buy enough from them to keep a store in business if it was a mile down the road.

You can find these at several places for the similar or better price. Dunham's Sporting goods has one for $49, while Menards, Dick's Sporting Goods, etc have them in the $50 - $60 range.

We just got a new one recently, about 20 miles from us, which is actually about 5 miles closer than HF. It opened in part of the old Gander Mtn building in O'Fallon IL (most of that building is one of those trendy new fitness clubs). I haven't been there yet.
