Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

We have used one for years and made some improvements. Put eyebolts around the perimeter for more secure tiedown, and pop riveted metal corner braces inside the plastic ones. Three kids to summer camp.....

I have the steel one. It sat for a few years until our dog injured her ACL so I turned it around so the railing faces the bumper and put plywood and carpet. It's now a fancy dog step so she can get into the car. Works well.

My stepson broke my Wife's favorite electric chain saw last Friday. I mentioned to her that I still had the 20% off coupon for Lynxx tools, so she wanted a new one. Went to the local store Saturday, only to find they were out of stock ... not surprising considering the storms we've had blow through the area in the last couple of weeks. Guess I'll be going back in the next week or so to pick one up.

Bought their $7 mug that 田ompares to yeti? It keeps the coffee reasonably hot for a couple hours. So good enough for me to have morning coffee while brush hogging.

Talking about "mugs".. I got an "Ozark Trails" one from WMart.. Holy Smokes does that thing keep things cold & hot.!!! I think it was $10.00.
419, I don't know if yours came w/ a handle?? but you can pickm up just about anywhere.. & the Yeti handle fits perfectly around it.
I have the BIG mug, 32oz I think, & the handle is VERY comfy to use. You can find them online for just a few bucks. {$3.00}
I had filled mine w/ ice & water at 3:00 break at work.. forgot it in the car at nite & came out the next morning & there was STILL ice in it..15hrs later.!!!

My experience with the Ozark Trail mugs and koozies is you get about 80% of Yeti quality for about 1/3rd of the price. Same with the coolers.

Well worth it.

Agreed. We have both mugs, and I can't really tell much difference in performance.

We’ve got the ones from Wallyworld, both sizes but, the bottom of the small one is too big for cup holders in my F-350 and Polaris Ranger. I got an RTIC brand that does fit. Both work well and much lower cost than Yeti.

Do any of you have experience with the HF Lynxx 40 volt pole saw?

4V Lithium Cordless Pole Saw

I’ve got an Echo pole saw that extends up to 16’ but, I’m thinking the HF saw would be good for branches just above the reach of a chain saw, and way lighter too.

Can you use the 20% coupons on the Lynxx tools and batteries?

The mugs and cups are exactly the same as the Yeti's. Yeti is severely over priced.

The Lynxx tool have their own coupons. You can't use the generic 20% ones on them.

Yeah, I bought one a couple of weeks ago. The stories about the batter life are apparently true. I cut limbs off of nine trees, and the level indicator still showed a full charge. I like it a lot.

Excellent! Thanks much.

You mentioned that Lynxx have their own coupons?

I have a chance to buy a used Echo pole saw from a friend that's like new and cheap. What do you think of it?

My use would be to trim some 1" to 1 3/4" bottom branches off of about 200 spruce trees and then sell it. Maybe 6 branches per tree and the pole would allow me to easily reach into the tree. Think it would hold up?

Echo has a 5yr. warranty for home owners. I think you'll be fine. After you get the limbs trimmed you'll probably change your mind about selling it!

Yeah I was at HF and picked it up on a whim really. It fits well in my hand without a handle and fits in the cup holder on the tractor as well as in the car. Coffee hot a couple hours later is about all I need. I am not a full time tractor driver so after a couple hours I am basically done anyway. Also a couple hours of hot coffee at the work desk is all I need.

The YETI brand is waaaayyyy over priced.

What model is it? I’m very pleased with my PPT-266. I misstated it’s reach in my other post. It telescopes from 9’ to 12’. I can easily reach up to 16’ high branches though.

Tree Pruners, Long Reach Pole Pruners, Extended Reach Pruners | ECHO USA

I’m looking at the HF pole trimmer because of lighter weight and will use for lower cuts that I can’t reach with my Echo chain saw.
