PT 422
Was poking around You Tube and saw a video on this tool. Recently have had to replace 2 inner tubes on the PT which combined are way more than the price of the tool in the video.
Anybody ever use this or have a better option?

I have one and it sure beats wrestling on the concrete floor. I also have the larger car tire changer and like it also.

I've had one for many years. Mostly use it for golf cart tires. It needs to be securely mounted. And you will need 2 of the HF spoons sold separately.

Funny this came up today. I just assembled something similar for motorcycle tires. I got the old one off. Heating the new tire up in the sun while I have some lunch before giving it a go. Oh yeah, I'm using those same HF spoons.

Spot on, I don't use it often but it is handy as a door knob when you need it.

I took mine and mounted a 2 inch square tube to the bottom and when I need it I use the tractor with the 2 inch receiver to transport and to hold it steady while I work the tire. I will include I have a skid steer attachment with the 2 inch receiver mounted on the bottom.

What do you use for MC tires? I'm thinking about getting something to change MC tires.

I bought the tire changer listed in the what did you buy thread page 262. It's a cheap bare minimum set up. I have 2 HF tire spoons. Having dismounted just 1 tire I can see that a better machine might be a better choice. But I have years of tire changing experience so I'll make it work. Warning MC tires can be pretty stiff which makes them hard to manipulate.
The Tool I bought was just $44. Something better jumps quickly in price to $400-500.
I can give a better review after I get the new tire on, today or tomorrow. I post it in who rides motorcycles

I bolted mine to a 3x5 steel plate and bolted that plate to a pallet. I move it around as needed but store it out back when not in use. We have a lot of golf carts and good off road tires are cheap on Amazon. The HF tire changer is well suited for these 8-12" rims and tires.

Buying the inexpensive HF tire changer is certainly a better choice than I made when I had to pay the tire shop $20 to change out one golf cart tire last week. You can bet, I'll have one shortly!

You will need a valve stem tool and 3 HF or WM tire spoons and a lubricant like tire wet or dish-soap. The machine will pay for itself if you do much tire changing at all.

For tire lube I like Murphys plus due to its consistency you can use it to seal between the rim and tire while you inflate for ones that refuse to touch the bead seat.
