Oil & Fuel Handling diesel

I use the jiggle siphon and love it. I place a 5 gallon container on a towel spread on the hood with one end rolled up enough to tilt the can forward a bit. Start the siphon and go do something else for 5 minutes (like greasing). Of course you have to make sure that the tank is empty enough to hold the entire can. Else you have to watch it so as not to over fill. I just don't use enough fuel to justify a large container and pump. And I like that I can walk away and just let it siphon until gone. The siphon leaves less than 8 oz of fuel behind the way I do it.

Amen, that's what I did for both gas and diesel. I have the steel tanks and rotary hand pumps I fill both 2-3 times a year. I recommend you get the 10 micron spin off filter with the water absorbing media. Easier to keep track to get the off road use tax rebate also. Also i dose both with fuel additives when filling.

Tractor Seabee,
I've got a filter on but not sure if the one you describe. I definitely will check that out. I admit that I only use fuel additives in the winter.
Good idea on one for Gasoline, I am forever getting my wife Gasoline for her John Deere 300x mower. Thanks

Seabee's right, a 55 gal drum is a great way to go, my COOP sells brand new one's for $11.

For my ck20 HST I use a five gallon drum lever pump, works slick. Put it on the ground next to tractor and pump away. Takes a few pumps to put in five gallons, but I am usually only putting in a couple of gallons.
