Hand and foot throttle problem

Need some help with that looks like to be a simple setup. I have a YM1610d. I can use the hand throttle and pull back to increase speed but when i push back on the hand throttle to decrease speed the foot throttle does not come up and the hand throttle just has free play. I have to stick my foot under the foot throttle and pry it up to decrease speed. Any thoughts on how and what i need to get these two throttles working together?

Take a look at the linkages, sounds like something is binding up. Probably nothing more than bending a linkage straigth with a pair of pliers and some WD-40.

Dieselfuelonly has it right

Its lubrication where the throttle handle comes out the side, lube the 2 friction discs and the linkage between the two.

Also the foot throttle cable.

These are an easy fix with a can of spray.
