The last 3 pics were taken at 11:30 am, the pic of the pickup was taken at 7:30 am. I can normally drive under the pine tree limbs with My GC2400, and the Rops do not touch the limbs. I'm estimating over 18 inches so far, and it's still snowing and blowing. TV news just said another 2 to 6 inches of snow in my area, but then again............I was only supposed to get 2 to 3 to begin with:confused3:

Have fun with it Don. I hate snow removal when there's no frost in the ground. Too easy to peel up chunks of lawn.
Fortunately, the big storm never really materialized here. Just a typical rain/wind storm with some downed trees and lines, but nothing significant.

That's just what Connecticut looked like one year ago. Good luck to all of you.

Wow, can't believe you guys got all that snow already. I want a big storm or 3 early in the season here like we had last year - 8' total by Christmas. Main reason I want the snow is to try out the new blower. Oh, and the new cab. :D But I'd have been happy to take all that snow here instead of you guys having to deal with it - leaves are all off the trees up here.

CT was a mess with all the trees down after last fall's early storm. Glad we got our late mom's house sold in CT last spring or we'd be dealing with another big mess again this year. Makes it tougher when you're more than half way across the country.

Good luck with the cleanup.

Just so I'm clear when it's HOT it's Global arming and when it Rains it's Global warming and when it Snows in the South in Oct. ...ALSO GLOBAL WARMING.

Do these Global warming Nuts have ANY common sense?

The more correct term is "climate change". While the changes are primarily due to global warming, but some folks don't understand the concepts of how a warmer earth could possibly create a snowstorm- hence a better description was needed.

The most common misconception is equating 'weather and climate', they are totally different.

The climate of the Earth has been changing since this planet was formed. Now that the glaciers are receding somewhat in Greenland, the farms from centuries ago are being revealed again. Most don't realize that Europe was once king of the world for grapes. Really interesting stuff if one actually studies it.

As far as this storm.........it was nothing more than 2 storms colliding at one time.......one 'nor'easter and one small hurricane'. That has happened countless times in the past. They just came together at the wrong place for the people involved.

I pray for the safety of the residents of the areas affected. The biggest problems I've seen so far is the inability of the government officials in the affected areas to be prepared for disasters such as this.

Last Halloween, here at my place, we got 2 feet of snow also.........because of 2 storms colliding and turning into a nor'easter.

Edit: Some interesting facts: http://www.nyc.gov/html/oem/html/hazards/storms_hurricanehistory.shtml
