It's a new tool, that when chucked in a drill will save alot of effort.

No slop just tacks. here's the answer. You had the purpose, just different helper.

I had a similar system with just a large socket and a 3/8" bolt with the head ground to a square to drive the socket.

Engine backfired at just the wrong time and ruined a 1/2" drill.
