I have been looking at a GT 2554. Is there room for the dealer to be negotiated on over the price? He if asking $4199.00.
Thanks Chuck

I suspect dealer cost on something like that is around 3k. I'm basing that upon a brand new 2550 I purchased last year (old body style) for 2800 as I recall.

That being said, I suspect the dealer won't be inclined to budge much off his price. The one I bought was a carryover model, and purchased off season (Feb).

If you are willing to shop around, and watch Ebay you may still be able to find a good deal on a carryover from last year.

Good luck.

I just checked tractorhouse.com. They are showing 2 GT2554's. One for 3200 and one for 3750 (including a front blade). Both are lightly used as opposed to new.

I was told that list price is $4399 and Cub has a sale price of $4199 which is what they pretty much expect dealers to sell the units for. They call it minimum advertised price (MAP). It is a good value for that price. Compare it to a green one or orange one and they will be considerably higher ($1000's) for similar unit.

From what I have heard on here, dealers don't wheel and deal on the base price of current model year 2500 or 3000's unless the buyer is interested in getting additional attachments such as a snowblower.

Well I shot the dealer a offer of $4000.00 and he said, I will take it. I will be picking it up Saturday. Plus I get one year no interest.
Thanks everyone

Good deal Chuck! I could see a dealer wiggling some on the more expensive 2500 series. Not so much on the 2542 or 2544 though.
