re: L3400 HST w/FEL & BH. Using for dirt work and tree farm work.

First tell me if I need a grill guard... or just want one.

e.g. are the worth the money in the long run.

Second, I'm having a hard time swallowing the dealer price. Can anyone tell me where I might buy one are something close to reasonable?

Thanks in advance.

Of course you want one:eek:. But they do come in handy, saving the hood and headlights from possible damage. So of course you need one! As far as price, I don't know.

You want one, or you'll need one if some material fall from your fel onto hood, grill, or hood.
Cost of grill guard is going off set cost of body work.

I find that it is mostly things that I have attached to the bucket hooks that can swing back towards the tractor more than you think when you lift them that makes the grill guards a nice thing to have. They aren't a lot of protection against punching a branch through when pushing brush, or that kind of thing, but do make a nice attachmet point for a grill guard / screen that will keep out that kind of thing. I'm glad I have mine, and would put one on any tractor with a loader attached.

They come with the FEL option:rolleyes: And YES you want it...

yeah, get one. they were always included with the FEL.on my purchases. plus it's another barrier to protect radiator w/limb work or in the woods. I ratted around a junk yard and found a stainless fine mesh refrid. grill as well that I put in front of the guard for the smaller stuff. good investment b

Interesting question. Today I was using my B3200 to fill a ditch I had dug the day before. As I was leaving the crowd of men were admiring my tractor. One asked me how I dented my grill. I thought he was kidding. He wasn't. I was pushing trees around last week in a brush pile and was being very agressive. So agressive I popped the air out of one of my front tires and today found out I also bent my grill. Yes I have a grill guard which did not stop the straight in limb but I still think everyone with a fel should have one if they are going to use the fel.

The grill guards are a must have but lack any branch protection.
The last kubota I had, and the one I just bought get heavy expanded metal welded to the front and repainted orange after my handy work.
