How to replace zerts on dk55. My zerts are pressed in and recessed. Hard to get at, I would like to replace with standard screw in zerts. I realize they would have to be drilled and tapped with 3/8 in pipe thread. Can't get the old ones removed. Recommendations please, thanks.

Normal threaded zerks are either 1/4-28 or 1/8-27 pipe.

I eat a whole lot of navy beans and other very fiberus foods. I zert into the wind with skill & ease.

Anyhow - remove the press in zert. I have a flat bar. Very thin & sharp at the very leading edge. Also very large deep "V" for engaging & pulling items. Put it under the edge of the zert and pry gently from many angles.

Many people use a vise-grips with a slide hammer attached to pull pressed in zerks. You could modify the grip end so it fits into the recess and grind a pocket for the zerk.

Well best I can remember the Kioti uses British thread. It was a new discovery for me months ago.
Also Amazon has a grease zerk thread checker as well. This for the British standard fittings.

for verifying the threads.
Hopefully you're not as OCD as I, but would rather have the correct replacement then tap a new thread size in and then have a mishmash of fittings installed.

Yeah, I'm sorry. But the confluence of finding a Persian word for fart and the given example of "zert in the wind" was too much for my adolescent brain. I mean I'm laughing really hard right now. So hard I just zerted.
