My grapple looks exactly like yours HKH, only it's 72" and a bit big for my tractor weighing in at approximately 600 lbs. I picked it up from a trailer dealer who just wanted to get rid of it for $1000.00 cash. It's a no name brand and I'm thinking it'a probably Chinese-made but it is sturdy and tough. It has survived some pretty severe punishment and has easily become my favorite attachment...enjoy your new grapple!!...twister
Never heard of a Chinese made grapple. I think the bulk and weight of a grapple may make it relatively uneconomical for such long distance imports. There are many small fabrication shops here in the U.S. (NC is over represented) so I'd guess you have a homegrown no name grapple.

I think my brand is exactly that, home grown no name inc:laughing:

Yes you may be right....however I live in Northern Ontario Canada...not likely that I would get such a good price if was American built, what with the exchange rate and all....but you never know....I'm just glad I found it....twister

Maybe but Titan Attachments ships everything from Tennessee and that is an odd distribution point if the manufacturing plant is in China.

It's finally my turn to join the fun. Just got the bucket grapple from MIE this week for my little Kioti.

Definitely a great price! Though we carry domestic and imported products, this is one that was engineered here and built in China. It includes a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and a One Year Warranty! I believe you'll be very impressed if you decide to purchase. Let me know if you have any other questions, and thanks for your interest.
Yep, some of the grapple they carry are from China. No biggie.

I can't imagine what they buy them for in China to allow both teams Pacific and transport Continental shipping of a bulky heavy grapple and still make money selling them for under a grand.

I agree!

Interesting. So Titan, unlike most grapples, really are imported from China. I imagine Titan, the U.S. marketing company, has some say in design and materials. Not unlike most every other Chinese import company Titan can either have high standards (think Costco) or low standards (think WallyWorld, KMart, HF). I've never seen a Titan implement so don't really know where on the spectrum they fit. However, if I am not mistaken, wasn't it Titan that was making a light duty grapple using 1/8" square tube rather than the standard 1/4" tube? As I recall at least one TBNer managed to crush the top tube on his grapple when he pushed against a tree with the upper jaw open. That is not a smart thing to do but clearly the 1/8" top tube was not up to the abuse. I don't recall anyone with a U.S. made grapple that all seem to use 1/4" tube ever failing in that way.

I believe the 1/8" square tube was a low end Wildcat grapple. Titan is the company that has had had gaps at the SSQA pin area and then routinely offers $50 to have shims welded on locally.

I have both brands, a 74" heavy duty dual lid 930 lb deep penetration Wildcat and a Titan 72" Rake 700 lb grapple. Neither gets as much use as my 48" single lid no-name single lid 350 lb grapple.

Brought a load of fir to the sawmill today. Every time I do this I remember back when I used to load with chains. :yuck:

Been a while since I've checked this thread. These pics you posted show perfectly how awesome a grapple is to have! Can you just imagine how many trips you would have had to take without that grapple!
Nice pics and tractor setup. Congrats and thanks for posting!
(by the way, is that PVC Pipe for choker chains? That's a good idea, how did you attach it?)

Great pic Gordon! It's nice to see some snow on the ground. How far away is the mill from you? If I had one somewhat nearby I would do the same thing.
