Grapple Help

Thank you so much Oosik, I've read several of your threads in the past and I've always enjoyed and have learned a thing or two from you and others . You have helped me make up my mind. Landpride is not as heavy as other grapples and I like the fact that the tines are made out of grade 80 material. I'll be going with the sgc1560. The more I can pick up the better. What remote did you go with ? Has it been trouble free ? I'll be calling the dealer this week. Really appreciate the help.

My grapple has arrived. Seems well made and worked right away. 20201026_144357.jpg20201026_144349.jpg

Raul - I went with the WR Long third function valve. It's what the Kubota dealer recommended and a lot of others here on TBN have had good experiences with it. It's not cheap - $1200, five years ago - but check with your dealer - the price may have gone down. This price included the cost of installation.

I had the Kubota dealer install the grapple and third function valve. Hydraulics are black magic to me. They did an excellent install. All the valving and hoses are on the inside side of the FEL structure. Attached to the rear vertical FEL riser - between that riser and the body of the tractor. I think this location may be important. On the outside of the FEL structure - subject to unwanted involvement with limbs, stobs and associated foreign objects.

I'll get some picture tomorrow - in the daylight - and post here. I tried just now - black on black. Too cold outside and I can't see to fiddle with the camera settings in the dark.

It's not the most revealing pic in the world but it's going to have to do. On the right - the FEL vertical member. On the left - the tractor body. Tucked in between and attached to the FEL vertical member - WR Long third function valve and all the required hydraulic hoses.

I got a better picture to replace the original. View attachment 674621

One word of caution on the MTL grapple, check all fittings and grease zerks. When I received my grapple and went to grease the fittings before use the fittings were barely finger tight. I have had the grapple for almost a year and the other day had a leak on one of the hydraulic fittings. The other hydraulic fitting was also loose when I checked.

I am happy with the grapple for the money.
