Once upon a time folks wanted a full size bed to go camping, hardly ever see these bed campers anymore, they must of handled like the Titanic.......

Back in the 80s I remember seeing campers that were made based on a tacoma chassis. They must have been a total slug...they were anemic enough empty.

When I run across this video I did a double take like I dont remember 4 doors on a 60s Chevy. At least they made it 4 wheel drive but adding 2 more doors, I dont know about that, and whats with the turbo whistling, that has to go but I bet that pickup would haul any camper built anywhere. I saw a truck outside of Rumford which must have been custom made. It was a nineteen fifty something GMC... 2 door extended cab. It was very nicely done.

Remember GM took Olds front wheel drive and built camperbus on top. Didn't make a lot cause people figured out real quick engine & transmission requires a lot of work for some reason. Wheel bearings frequent replacement item too for some odd reason.

The family dat plays together stays together big camping slogan back den too. Heard a salesman say he didn't sell campers, he sold RV lifestyle. Guess he never went to campground and saw kids runnin off to smoke dope while husbands sat around drinkin beer and wives bunched up to grumble. Had to get away from cramped suburban yards to jam together in campground.

Worst ones were pickups wid house in box hangin over pullin swayin boat on trailer wid extended bumper.
