If you have never seen one before you might be surprised that they blowup but that used to be a regular event even without the silo or elevator collapsing.

That's what you risk having happen when you fill it with grain that has a too high moisture content.

Grain dust is explosive. Grain handling facilities usually have combustion proof wireing.
