Tractor
Kubota L3400 (gear driven)
It was delivered this morning. Mowed the pastures and had lots of fun. Even let the wife drive it for a while.

It's a gear driven model with 4WD and FEL and a Rankin 5' brush hog.

Tore through the blackberries and chest high grass and weeds with out a problem. Only issue was there was a lot of junk hidden under all that brush and the blade is already beat up. Now that I can see the ground I can clear out the obstacles, sharpen the blade and I should be good to go.

Only thing I don't like is the loader controller is pretty close to the steering wheel and I keep hitting it with my arms. Guess I'll get used to that. Also there is some shudder as I raise the 3pt hitch. I already talked to the dealer before I bought it and they said they would replace the hyd valve if it's too annoying. I'll see how it works out.

Here is a link to a short video of my wife mowing: L3400 in action.

Thanks to everyone out there for the wealth of info on this site which helped me become more tractor educated.

Shimon,
The tractor looks great /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Two things to mention though, 1) it's not a good idea to use your tractor with the loader high in the air, it makes for very unstable conditions. 2) Since your wife looks like she can handle the machine pretty well, I think you are probably going to loose alot of seat time in the future /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Enjoy your new tractor.

Good point...thanks. I raised it to get closer to the fence and the wife didn't want to mess with the controls because she's not familiar with the loader.

If I can train her to mow well I'll let her do it. I've been slowly teaching her to do more and more so I can do less and less.

I just watched your video and let me tell you from my wifes experience never use your tractor with the loader all the way in the air !!!!!!! My wife called me at work one day "honey I just tipped your tractor over " and I mean over right on its right side , no damage just she was scratched up alittle . She was using the tractor with loader all the way in the air and drove over a mound of dirt. Luckily she wasnt hurt.

Thanks...but a little too late. Didn't cause too much damage to the blades...just some big ol nicks. I'll sharpen them up again before the next go around.
