Thanks for all the great information! As a newbie I'll have lots of silly questions.

Here's one:

How should I wash the tractor? Hose? Pressure washer? Air compressor? Sensitive areas to avoid?

I just use the hose and soapy water
And don't sparay the dash hard.
If usinging a pressure washer don't hit the greese fittings hard with it .

I am 1 of those members.

Me too. I had trouble until I drilled a small hole in the bottom of the switch and sprayed some wd in there. I Havent had a problem since. If the flasher switch get water in it it will run your battery down.

I use a pressure washer, with the lower pressure black tip, to clean off thick mud after a hard day of digging etc but usually only use regular house water pressure to give the BX23 it's semi annual soap & water bath.
I don't wash it after every use, which is mainly finish mowing now, but I do use a high pressure blower to blow it off. This keeps it relatively clean and this also allows for a nice cool down period for the engine and HST as I blow it off with it at low idle. It's always good practice to allow a diesel engine thats been worked fairly hard to cool down with a couple minute idle before shutdown.
Likes been said, avoid applying high pressure water to the dash as the high pressure moisture has a way of making it's way into the bowells of the headlight and emergency light switches. When this happens your BX will start playing the "lights on-lights off" game with you.
Oddly enough, when these very same BX's sit out in all kinds of weather at the various dealerships, they don't play these games
