I need to install a gooseneck hitch in my new Dodge and thought I would ask all you experts that do alot of hauling what brands you use.

The one in my old truck is a foldover that has two slots with a bar that slides back and forth for the safety chains but I have not seen this style for awhile, it is a slick setup, very easy to hook everything up. It's taken alot of use and seems to be as good as new.

I just found out you can't drill into the new Dodges frames so I'll have to buy a mounting bracket that is drill free.

I've checked a few out on the internet but not sure if I should change from the style I have.

At this time this will be used for cattle trailers that will spend alot of time in some less than smooth conditions.

What have you guys found that works well?

I use a Reese rail system in my dually but just put a B&W turnover in my F250 I like it better than the reese.

B&W, I use mine for my horse trailer, stocktrailer and then with the fifth wheel adapter it is easy to hook up the travel trailer.

B&W turnover.
I just installed one in my truck. I looked at lots before I settled on this one. I got it off Ebay for several hundred dollars less than any accessory store around here.

B&W all the way. The others just don't match up.

I have installed all types of hitches in my boat trailer business and they are the best. Just like Putnum and the Reece 2.5 unit they are just simply the best for heavy towing on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. You know they are top notch, you just installed one.

Seems like a lot of folks on this site like the B&W hitch. The big selling point was it only required a 4" hole removed from the bed, and not a large square of sheetmetal to remove. (Found later it also requiered (2) 1/2" holes for the safety chains) Based on that I installed one on my Ford F250 this past summer. Installation wasn't bad and I haven't had a problem. I saved a bunch of $$ over having the dealer install it, though prepare to get some dust in your eye from working underneath the truck rear.

I installed the B&W on my 2003 Dodge five years ago and really like it. The B&W is rated for 30,000 lbs.

B&W here too, there's just nothing on the market that compares. The design is great super strong and it's never in the way. There's also a 5th wheel optiong for it. I can'tunderstand why anyone would use anything else. Best 300 I ever spent.

Ditto everyone else on the B&W. Use mine to pull a horse trailer and a 25' 14K equipment trailer.

Looks like everyone agrees on this one.

Will the B&W work on the Dodge rolled frame, I can't find anything on B&W's web site about not drilling.

That's a B&W ripoff. It's more money than the B&W according to the website. Get the B&W and don't look back.

Price was not my key consideration. B&W did not make a turn over ball that would stow inside of itself for my vehicle model.
