Good seat time today

I got a chance to do some mowing in my side field. It's usually wet and the grass gets really tall.
I don't about others but, I really enjoy mowing. Very relaxing.

Fortunately, there are only a few spots that are so wet that it gets this tall. The rest of the place has average height growth. Were going to get about 60 squares from a small field a guy is bailing this afternoon. I'm going to ask if he'd be interested in haying at our place. I don't know much about it, I'll let someone with more knowledge tell me if it is worth doing and what's involved.

This has been a great weekend in NE to get some real seat time . Yesterday I finished tilling the lawn area I am redoing (Phase 1), moved, box bladed and raked a lot of dirt, and moved a lot of debris (wish I had a grapple bucket). Today I will be moving more dirt, moving rocks for my raised stone flower bed (while the wife is away ) and possibly hooking up my rotary cutter to do a perimeter cut on my lower 7 A's. I have also been doing manual labor in our vegetable garden. Jay

Must be nice. We have had rain for the past week. A lot of flooding going on and my property is soaked with about 3 feet of water in my new foundation. I sure hope it dries out then I can get my floor in and the acreage mowed.

Just remember to clean the radiator screen when cutting stuff that tall. Otherwise looks like fun to me, I have a couple of places I cut that you almost have to stand up to see where you are going, and my ford 2910 is not a short tractor.

my neighbor has a small lower pasture area i cut last fall.... at the time it was chest tall grass like the pics.

I offered to cut it again this past weekend, again chest tall.

I should have had the FEL on because i could have harvested about quite a few lbs of grass seed. I still had my MMM on and between the grass seed that collected on it and on the top of the hog, i could have seeded quite an area!

When I leave the bucket on, after I'm done I drop it to the ground and the chickens come running for the bugs it collected. They also like to pick at the seed that lands on the top of the cutter.
