Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 7C and it's presently 23.9C, clear with a breeze.

A lovely day, yesterday. After Church I was able to get a big session of dhobi done as I'd 'booked' a 5 hour stint of free power, offered by our State Power. They do this every now and then.

Today I need to pop 'into town' to get a full 'set' of scripts, followed by a stop at Mitre 10 (hardware) for replacement horse water system connectors. (And that's ALL I'm going in there for!)

That's about it, take care all.
We'll see what you come out with. ;)

The freezing rain has started. The worst of it will be going south and north of me.
The end of month shopping trip may be put off until New Years' eve, day. Depends on the snow and crappy weather.

Good evening!

Buckeye, Our church is in Leander. About 19 miles from home.

BIL continues to recover very slowly. he got pneumonia which he is being treated for and they installed a voice box. He still has his tracheotomy tube in. He is able to sit up in bed. He got a room out of ICU, it has been three weeks since his motorcycle accident. He may get to skip one surgery if his eye sockets continue to heal.

I called the Farm to asked about the Christmas tree sales and they reported that sales were slow as expected being the first year of sales for the trees growing for 5 years.

The cold front has blown in. 56˚F heading down to the 30s. My wife might get to use the hand warmers I got her for Christmas tomorrow.

The best deals are still the Kirkland brands. Ended up spending $275. on much of nothing IMO.
Costco is like everything I guess. It's got pluses and minuses. I actually went to Costco and bough the one and only thing I went for: a large bag of Kirkland Pistachios. One single bag. That was all.

good morning all
up early, enjoying my coffee
warmer weather and rain coming in today
looks like warmer weather extends North so less snow and more rain for New England
my brother will be pleased; his car is still covered in ice in parking lot, will finally melt off

nice family get together last night, brother's two kids and their four kids, by end of night my ears
were really ringing. Nice to get all the grandchildren together, they get along well.

it's been fun but have had my fill of socializing. Feel like I want to eat nothing but vegetables
for a week.

Don, glad your BIL is doing better

Poured first cup of coffee. 31° with cloudy skies and a brisk wind out of the west. Heading to 35° with continued wind and some snow showers. Got laundry put away. Spent rest of the day conserving energy. Today will probably be another conserve energy day.

Good morning, the low is 23 and going down to 18°F. Wind E 23 gusting to 34 mph. Snow or ice pellets heavy at times. We've got about 1/8" of ice so far. The lights are still on.

The North Bay trip is postponed until Wednesday. If I wait until Wednesday then I will miss out on the $80 million draw, but that is not the end of the world. It wouldn't be the first draw I've missed out on. I still have my oar in the water for the $2 million.

Time to get this posted before TBN shuts down at 5.

Have a safe day all

The Hertella Auto Kaffeemaschine was a rare, dashboard-mounted coffee maker designed for the 1959 Volkswagen Beetle, plugging into the cigarette lighter to brew coffee (or tea/broth) in magnetic porcelain cups for in-car luxury, though its technical simplicity (no power switch) and poor coffee quality led to its quick discontinuation, making it a sought-after collector's item today, says The Drive and Instagram users.

sent this to my friend who owns the coffee business

think McDonalds hot coffee scalding lawsuit
it all started here...

nice safe idea, no seat belts, no collapsing steering wheel, metal dash and boiling hot water
in your face if you hit something

would make a cool collectible for VW fans

red velvet, chocolate chip, cherry cheese cake
and pecan pie on the bottom.

Good Morning from Central Texas,
At 4:30am my weather station says 47 degrees, 23 dew point with 10-12 mph steady NNE winds. Hard to believe the cold front came thru DRY AGAIN.
Heading to the American Legion coffee meeting this morning then to Walmart for a few supplies. Not many "must do's" today thankfully.
The county burn ban was lifted 3 weeks ago. Hopefully no one burns today ! There is still some grass with a little green in it since we haven't had a real bad freeze. But the cattle are, as usual hungry !

Hope all have a great day.

Morning all;
Our ice storm is winding down the temp. has reached 33F already (5:30) with a light rain falling.
The ice on my hand rails is soft, whats on the concrete is wet and slick. Still quite a few motor vehicle accidents coming over the scanner. National Grid showing 145 outages and 18,666 customers without power so not bad at all. I'll be waiting till 9 or so before I venture out to check on conditions much more. By then the forecast has the rain slowing way down and the temp up to 39 F and we will see how the driveway looks before I sand it.

All have a good day.

54 heading to 58 before it starts to drop. Heavy wind gusts are here, with an occasional 30-35mph rattling the house.

Good news on your BIL, Don. Sounds like a long recovery is required.

Happy, my wife got a smart birdhouse, too, and I tried to set up a separate section and password for it to connect on our fiber router for security, but couldn't get in. I need to try again when I can get Brightspeed phone company on the line to give me the correct access password. I may be overly cautious, but didn't like the access that the unknown company would have into our network.

Cut a big dead oak down late yesterday. It has been dying for a couple of years, and an ice/wind storm caused it to lean over one of my trails. It bit the dust during the middle of this past summer. Couldn't get to it until late yesterday, because took Della for a hike and swim in the afternoon, so finished loading up the first group of rounds in the dark. Having work lights on the tractor would have been nice.

Timber!!! Unfortunately, when the trunk fell and shook the ground, a flying squirrel came scurrying out of a hole I had not seen, and ran into the forest behind. I felt bad. We have only seen one before, living in a bird box I had placed. This oak also had a 3 inch diameter wild grape vine growing up it. I am saving as much of it as possible and rerouting it. I ate some of the grapes this year.

Sweden's Scania 16 liter truck engine is now used in some of the International trucks. Makes sense since both are owned by VW

The Scania V8 770 hp is the most powerful production truck engine in the world, featuring a 16.4L V8 engine that delivers 770 horsepower and a massive 3,700 Nm of torque for extreme heavy-haul performance, while also boasting significant fuel efficiency gains and HVO biofuel compatibility through advanced tech like optimized turbocharging
