Good morning TBN!!

44 this morning and probably won't make 60 today. Wind will start picking up tonight.

Spent yesterday fashioning a rebar shepherds hook for the wife. Got her a "smart" birdhouse for Christmas and needed a strong way to hang it. I had some half inch x ten foot left over from the bridge rebuild. Didn't get quite done so that will be on todays agenda.
Walked the dog and puttered here and there and watched a little football.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

good morning all
start of a warmup in weather for next two days

have some errands to run today, return Popgadget's tap, hopefully
bring the rv's rear light home to work on it, will visit my friends nearby in Hatfield,
and then home to wait for family dinner at brother's with his daughter and family from Charleston visiting.

Those two young boys sure keep the house hopping. I got them a set of play magnets for Christmas, interesting to
see what they build with them. Told my brother to keep his automatic watch away. Comes with warnings for watches, gps, compass, etc.

wondering how much of a skating rink driveway will be today but warmer weather coming in should melt it.

Good morning, the low is 10 and going up to 23°F. Wind E 7 mph. Periods of ice pellets mixed with freezing rain starting this afternoon. This system is coming North easterly across Lake Huron and Georgian Bay and making a beeline for SR.

I guess today I will just sit here and wait for it. The genny is full of fuel and oil and I have 15 gallons extra fuel.

I finally found the rock that has been a pain in my rear, down near the mouth of the driveway. 4" across and 2.5" thick. My ballpean hammer made quick work of it after I hit it with the bucket. It is now in the bush where the mower wont hit it either.

Be careful on the ice, Drew.

Have a safe day all

5F clear sky might reach 30F,freezing rain before midnight than changing to rain at daybreak mostly all day event. :(

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...looks like least couple wheelbarrow loads of wood roll off stack, once it warms up a bit take it to basement, afternoon check here and there make sure everything cover before freezing rain than rain arrives,I rather deal with 1' plus of snow any day before freezing rain.

May NY Giants can pull of win 🤞 worse 2 teams in NFL go head to head.

Enjoy your day all.

not sure there is any critter or bug more useless and unwanted than ticks.
not only get you sick but your animals too

ticks and cockroaches
problem is they will likely be last bugs standing
they will climb out of the radioactive dust, triple in size and become the new
apex predator.

About the same here freezing rain to start about 7PM and rain continuing till Monday late afternoon.
Not a pleasant forecast, guess I'll clean off the generator tractor and get it backed up next to the house.
That should keep the power on :)

Good Morning
26° and supposed to stay below freezing all day, so it looks like another day of skating rink conditions here. Supposed to see 50° on Monday, so the end is in sight.
Yesterday, I only ventured out to get gas in the Lexus and RAV at the local grocery store’s pumps. Our points were expiring, so it was the last day for $2.29 gas. Between the two cars we got the 20 gallon maximum.

We had the last event of our Christmas next door at Son and DIL’s the entire family was there. Enjoyed grandson’s account of sledding down the ice covered pond hill at blistering speed and getting all the way into the woods. Of course his dog Tucker, a Bernese Mountain Dog/Poodle mix was riding with him on the sled. Would have been a sight to behold.

Did a little bit of Fusion 360 learning, watched some more Landman, overall a relaxing day.

Today, oldest son wants me to fly out to lunch with him, maybe I’ll get that Cubano in Reading that I forewent last week. After that a friend wants to show me a 3D printing project that he has in mind for me.
Hopefully finish the day in the recliner in front of a fire.

Years ago a Mr. Mrs. move from NY rich area brought their ideas with them which was fine at the time than it began, with in 2 mile circle they push are hard for street lights, some areas gated, also complain the smell of 2 working farms spreading manure in spring time etc. many believe they were trying to get HOA foot step in place...out in country on bottom of mountain  several years they pack up and move away, yep I would put them there with the ticks. ;)

time to get moving, dropping off a tap in Popgadget's mailbox and then headed to rv.
nice that my car has been in garage whole time.
should make quite a crunch backing up to road.
and my nice shiny dark blue car will soon be totally slimed by salt.
beats sliding off the road
still only 26 out so have to be careful of black ice

my older brother is looking for a lab to replace the one that just passed.
I thought a bulldog would be good for me, until I saw they slobbered a lot.
no.
so thanks to AI, I have a nice list to choose from:
thinking standard poodle, larger one

Top Senior-Friendly Breeds with Low Drool

  • Bichon Frisé: Highly recommended for seniors because they are cheerful, gentle lap dogs. They are known for being both low-drool and low-shedding.
  • Cavalier King Charles Spaniel: Often cited as the ideal senior companion, these dogs are quiet, affectionate, and low-drool.
  • Shih Tzu: These small, calm dogs have an average weight of 10–18 pounds, making them easy for seniors to handle. They are low-drool and hypoallergenic.
  • Poodle (Toy, Miniature, or Standard): Poodles are highly intelligent and obedient. They have tight lips that discourage drooling and are considered one of the best hypoallergenic options.
  • Maltese: A classic lap dog, the Maltese is gentle and affectionate. They do not regularly drool and are easy for seniors with limited space.
  • Greyhound / Italian Greyhound: Despite their athletic reputation, Greyhounds are often called "45mph couch potatoes" because they are calm and enjoy lounging. They have narrow faces and are very unlikely to drool.

Landseer ECT doesn’t drool.
Affectionate, think they are a lap dog…

But they shed tumbleweeds, and are happy to see everyone, regardless of that feeling is reciprocated!

I mentioned that we adopted a 3-year old French Bulldog (Frenchie) a few months ago, and I'm now totally sold on this breed. About as calm as one can be in a 3-year old dog of this size, she is the most "chill" dog I have ever owned. She spends her entire day napping by my feet, getting up to shadow me around the house anytime I get up from my desk. My kids dress her up in rediculous costumes, she doesn't care. The only excitement I ever get from her is 30 seconds of a bucking bronco impersonation, when letting her out of the pen where she and our other dog stay when we're out of the house.

Having owned no fewer than three miniature Pinschers, which are half Italian Greyhound, I'd be leery of those. If the mini Pins are anything like their Greyhound ancestry, you're going to have a handful with them. Very smart, but damn near infinite energy, and a need to be entertained. They could drive an older owner to madness. (mini Pin = Italian Greyhound + Daschund)

Another one some of our older acquaintances keep mentioning, which I have to admit looks appealing, is the King Charles Spaniel. I guess they're the latest "popular" thing, which is really driving up their prices, and of course attracting more unethical breeders. But everyone I know who owns one absolutely loves the breed.

Morning all, 26 going to 39 and ice covered.
Not much ice melted yesterday, maybe some more today.
Wife's car ran out of washer fluid, so topped it up.

Cleaned up my desk downstairs and set up with power supply and Oscilloscope.
Took apart power supply and cleaned all the connections, looked pretty clean though.
Found schematics for power supply, but not fan thermal driver, so wrote BK to get those.

Ice is too thin to scrape, too thick to have melted yesterday.

Bil/Sil didn't come yesterday due to the ice storm, will reschedule.

Be well,

I am going to try a trick seen on you tube using a good ole slinky on the pole.
Squirrels can trick those, either pushing the slinky up the pole with their head as they climb, or grabbing onto it, pulling it down and then climbing the pole real fast when the slinky brings up out of their way.
