Good morning tbn crew! Got home late yesterday on nearly dry roads for a change. I believe Houghton has got 80" for the year and some snow is coming down now. Dearest is off to work and we may or may not, head back to camp tonight. Its just above freezing here now. Did grab some firewood over the holiday and mark logs n rocks along the trail to the parking lot.

And that's why it becomes more like threadlock in time. Vegetable oils are a poor lubricant and become tacky in short other.

zerk simply missing and threads looked dinged

You should be able to tell, after cleaning the hole with a Q-Tip. The hole thru a snapped-off zerk on a small machine like a CUT is going to be small, probably less than 1/16" diameter. But an empty threaded port is going to be either #10-32 (.190") or more likely 1/16" NPT (.313") on a smaller tractor, possibly even 1/8" NPT (.405") on a larger CUT.

And one saving grace about old Zerks is that they almost never rust (too much grease), and they usually back out really easily with the appropriately-sized EZ-Out tool:



As a temporary measure, you could probably grease it pretty well thru the 1/16"ish hole of a snapped off zerk, just using a needle type tip on your grease gun.

Morning all, 23 going to 32 and calling for rain/sleet/snow later.
Presents done, I got myself a small digital Oscilloscope , we got the wife new fancy shoes and the son boots. We also ordered a special edition vinyl for him, but that hasn't shown up yet.
Out to Asian restaurant last night after son came home from movies with GF.
Our first time doing a restaurant for Christmas in many decades.

Not much to say about yesterday, ate too much good food, moving from house to house. Didn’t fix or make anything, but i didn’t break anything either.

Going with my wife to pack up and bring here alpaca goods back from the local Christmas tree farm, where she has a kiosk in their store every year.

Probably revisit the circulator, and try not to drop another one.

Hopefully continue my deliveries feom Christmas eve.

No music tonight, the weather is going to out a damper on travel.

Peaceful laid back yesterday.
Biggest thing I did was hang a map of the park next to use that the wife had framed for us.
Laid back day with just the two of us.

this machine has all of 20 hours on it so not like running without anything in there but
bothers me not being able to grease it.

Good Morning to all who celebrate! Currently 28° heading to a high of 31° wintery mix forecast for tonight. Hope it actually ends up being snow, that will make life much easier than ice!

Had a good Christmas with too much food, picking up grandma went smoothly, just a half hour drive both ways. Roads were empty. Nephew enjoyed his gifts and is currently keeping grandpa and GG on their toes. He's extremely mobile and quicker than you think! Still need to pick up Grandma's present. Ever since her bypass, she's been forbidden from shoveling snow. So I'll pick up one of those little Ryobi snow blower/shovel combinations, that way she won't be reliant on the kindness of her neighbors or me. She won't be able to move feet of snow, but enough that she'll be able to do her walk and driveway without straining.

Currently I'm just sitting here being the only corporate employee making sure the whole place doesn't burn to ashes. It hasn't spontaneously combusted yet. Plan to take off a little early to prep the tractor for worst case scenario (snow-push and blower) Just like the old saying "Better to have and not need than to need and not have."

That's about all I have scheduled for this weekend. See y'all again on Monday!

typically use a standard 0.25 x 0.125-inch drive-in grease zerk fitting, often identified by Ariens Part Number 07061300, which is a small, common size for auger gearboxes and other lube points,


as I was typing that Popgadget called, headed his way for a 1/4 inch zerk and a tap

Neighbors visited me and I visited them. Phone and text messages used up a bunch of time.

Text messages and Email Christmas Greetings are overwhelming the traditional Christmas Cards nowadays. I'm not at all sure it's a good thing. As a traditionalist I like to send and receive hand signed Christmas Cards. Although I have contributed to the 'electronic onslaught' myself.
