56F and "Fair" @ 12:00 ... which should be the high for the day. Looks nice out ... but I can hear the wind howling.

Lots of melting going on but ground still mostly snow-covered at least on the grass. Reminds me that it usually takes longer to go away than it does to arrive.

Very successful on getting the front cleaned up yesterday, shouldn't be too much left out there.

Got the radial arm saw and tall step ladder moved into the garage, plus a bunch of other junk.

Later in the afternoon after it started cool off I came back inside and started working on cleaning up the dining room. Good progress there but still more to do.

Woman had to run by the pharmacy to pick up a 'script so picked up KFC for dinner on Her way back. Said Her's was better than last time, mine was very disappointing. The hot wings were way too hot with seasoning - and that's saying something for me - and seemed like they had been sitting around for a while. 🤬

Fell asleep on the couch for a while and then woke up with very bad cramps in my lower legs. Ended up taking a hot shower which helped some, finally took some mustard + calcium, magnesium, and zinc tablets. Was up repeatedly after that between the cramping and draining the vein.

Will head back out here in a little bit and continue on.

Need to rearrange some things in the barn to make more room.

Have a couple items in the van (garage door opener and a tankless Ruud water heater) I need to unload and get stowed in the barn, plus a couple of items here from the house.

After that back inside and probably shut off the gas supply while it's still warm and work on getting repositioning that shutoff valve so the gas line can be extended out to the garage.

Beyond that see what else appears on the horizon work-wise.

Hope everyone is having a decent day ... (y)

Wife’s oatmeal chocolate chip cookies didn’t turn out right, so lots to sample.
Moved bunch paperwork from filing cabinet to basement box storage.

Still waiting for pellet stove to cool more before cleaning.

Rode 10 miles on exercise bike.

Cody is multilingual it seems. We switched to third language, German when we talk about going out because he reacts to English and Danish. Likely will not be long before he has that figured out as well.
Nice trip to the PO to drop off letters. Lots of people there sending packages
Found a vintage 15 inch Bacho on Ebay made in Sweden to replace the one that seems to be lost. Will see how the tariff will work on shipment from Belgium
I have the sinking feeling that the plumbers swiped it when replacing the water heater

I find it interesting, that Farmers and similar brands are pretty much people food. For years we’ve been told not to feed them people food.
I'm not sure that means dog food has now gotten better. It may mean people food has gotten a lot worse. The two may be the same before long, if some have their way.

Sodamo you are correct but back in the day dogs ate human left overs and lived much longer. We lost goldens at 9, 10, 11, 13 years old due to cancer. I’m hoping this pup will live longer.

36 was low now 46 and raining. No snow for Christmas here maybe Thomas and New England, upper Midwest

As previously stated NC Va no snow until January as I see it.

Prayers for all our Country

Good Afternoon to GM thread!

It's cleared up today but still windy, low 70's F so somewhat nice.

Enjoyed a Christmas party yesterday! That was about all I did.

I'm composing this post while having a bowl of pretty decent lobster bisque I picked up at the Guicci B deli a few days ago.

Lot's going on. Primary candidates are drawing for ballot positions across Texas this week. Property Tax payments are due without penalty by the end of this month, if you want to deduct them this year. Until the end of January w/o penalty if that doesn't matter. I met the new tenant at a property adjacent to one of mine. They had placed some items on my property and after not removing them for over a week I decided to get acquainted. Went smoothly and the items were promptly removed.

That about sums it up. Now, time to clean up and change for a reception tonight. After I get back I'll be finishing up on a stack of Christmas cards to mail tomorrow.

Prayers for healing as needed for everyone! Enjoy the rest of the day!

Prayers for our Nation!

wife threw away some of the CC cookies that didn't turn out, I would have eaten them..... She added more flour to the mix and those were a little better, she froze those ones.

Got pellet stove cleaned, but noticed the back of the flame guide, a cast iron piece that slides in on top of the burn pot is messed up in the back. Not too bad, and I've seen worse pictures of them online, but getting a new one. Amazon has clone ones, and saw online authentic Harman ones for $78. Called sort of local place, they have them in stock for $48. Will pick up saturday after breakfast, as we will be close to them. My local dealer where I bought my stove went out of business years ago. Had the stove almost 18 yrs now, same stove today $2K more than i paid then. I would love to have another in the basement.

BB wants in. I did give him food in the garage.

current prediction is snow flurries for Christmas morning.
that will be pretty
ho ho ho

sure beats some Christmases where it was 70 out.
we must be having global cooling.... ;)
But the kids can play outside with their new toys. Bikes not sleds. But Santa would do better with wheels instead of skids on his sleigh this year in Texas. (and almost every year)
Forecast for Christmas week low 56˚, high 78˚ and no chance of rain. Southerly winds all week and partly cloudy.

It has clouded up and now dropped to 55F @ 16:00, rain due anytime ... turning to snow later.

Had a reasonably productive afternoon.

2 steel sawhorses and the MoJack taken up and put away in the shop, retrieved the short stepladder and a 5 gallon bucket and brought those back down.

Turned off the radio and a 4' led light while I was up there.

Also brought down a large (50 gallon ?) rectangular open top plastic tub which was used for heater/controller testing and put that away in the barn.

Did some rearranging in the barn to make more room.

Tankless water heater and 2 Chamberlain garage door openers removed from the van over to the barn. One is a nice jack shaft opener which I bagged along with the Ruud heater.

Van is now empty.

Checked coolant level in van, it was low so topped it off with 50/50. Still no joy on heat. Will let it cool off and see if that bleeds any air pockets out of the system. Also closed up roof vent.

Washing machine parts gathered up and moved over to the barn with the rest of the unit. Woman will be glad to see those out of the house ... ;)

1 bag of trash taken up to the cans at the road, didn't have any garbage in it so it should be safe until Tuesday. Also collected the mail.

2 wooden sawhorses taken apart and moved inside. Once those dry out I'll get a coat of paint on them.

Found a stainless split ring on the ground out front. Perfect timing ! - needed one to put up the suet feeder over the kitchen sink.

About to head down to the utility room and start working on that next section of stud wall.
