Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 10C and it's presently 22.4C, clear with a strong wind.

A lovely day yesterday which included a visit to my house of an echidna... just trundling along with whatever purpose was in its mind. :)

A great Parish Council meeting last evening. I did show up a bit early to conduct a couple of small 'repairs' and to do a personal survey of any future projects/concerns of the Church (corner stone laid in 1881). Home by 1750.

Today will be wood stacking out at the wood-shed.

Annoying 'sniffles' continuing. Oh, well.

That's about it, take care all.

I have to be careful eating pancakes, otherwise in an hour I feel jittery and hungry.
I used to make pancakes every weekend morning, when my kids were young. What I noticed was that no matter how much I'd stuff myself full of them, I was hungry again by mid-morning. No staying power, even compared to regular old Honey Bunches of Oats or Raisin Bran.

And before anyone asks, I'd usually have three sausage links and real maple syrup with my pancakes. :p

So I did manage to get the big fuel tank back in place. Ended up nearly having it installed and I had to lower it again to take off the side heat shield so I could get the last line connected. Then I managed to almost pinch a line when trying to get it up the final inch...Lowered it again, got that line OVER the cross frame rail like it belongs. Tightened the band strap bolts, had son put some gas back in it. Said a prayer and she started right up. Had a CEL for a few seconds but that went away on its on.
Ended up putting a China (I figure, from Amazon) fuel pump in it while I had it out. Mainly because they promised the fastest delivery, but they lied and the delivery came a day late...and so I waited. Had 5 star rating. All said the parts were about 300ish. I would figure if I had taken it to a reputable shop they would have charged me around $1500 to get all the fuel/evap lines from the engine to the back of the truck cleared of the carbon pellets.

Fire alarm chirped. Ten year battery only 18 month in. Took it up to the compressor and blew it out to see if that will fix it. Chirping stopped but will see if it returns

Not sure what I will get into today
Weird, I thought false fire alarms only go off from 1am to 3am.

Before we get to many questions, below is how google describes the German farmers who migrated to Russia, then later moved to the Midwest to homestead and farm. 55% of my home state of SD is these German-Russian's.

-------------- Below I'll add---------------

There was already people on the land that Catherine invited them to use and they did not like these German's who had more rights than them and paid no taxes either.. Their stay didn't last very long and after they found out about about the homestead act and the land, whole towns picked up and moved to the USA. Most ended up in ND SD, MN and NE and started up whole communities of these German-Russian's. In ND you can find onion domed churches built by these immigrates.

------------------------------------- google says below.
German settlers were invited to Russia by Empress Catherine the Great starting in the 18th century, who offered them land, religious freedom, and other privileges to colonize new territories. These settlers, known as Volga Germans, Black Sea Germans, and others, populated areas like the Volga region, the Black Sea coast, and the Caucasus. Over time, many faced a loss of privileges and were later deported during World War II, though German communities and their descendants remain in parts of the former Soviet Union and have also settled in other countries like the United States and Canada.
Interesting.

Happy, you have my condolences. I lost my sorry excuse for a dad on my bday, but I lost my female Golden Retriever on another bday. But no comparison to losing a son. You have my prayers tonight.

Buppies and Holly too, prayers.

Popgadget, I decided to knock the dust off of our Torchmate Plasma table today, to get it ready for demonstrations. The auto voltage height control is acting up. Lincoln says to check the set voltage, and the ground clamps. I believe maybe the wires are oxidized from sitting. What its doing is it will pierce the cut, then lower to start xy movement, but about 1/2" later it jumps up about 3/8" to 1/2" high and keeps cutting. It still makes a nice cut, but albeit twice as wide of cut kerf.
We have a benefactor who is willing to donate some money, and if we get enough, I hope to procure a new Langmuir Crossfire XR table to put our Hypertherm under. Need to order more finecut tips.
