Goo morning , 38 going to 47 and sunny, windy, some ice on the ground?
Seems like I spent a lot of time getting a few small things accomplished.
Got the chain saw bars and chains hung on the wall to make them easier to access.
See that I need a backup bar and chain for the 620p so will order today.

got the remote control RGB LED into the christmas light, just need to gasket the hole where the wire comes out.

Found the torque sticks and they are now in with the impact so I don't have to search for them again.

Dog walk and some general cleanup and it was already starting to get dark, where did all the time go?

Woke up to some ice on the deck , but says it's 38 degrees out,

Did a run for some Apples and Pears from Solebury Orchard, always thanks to Drew for reminding me they sell direct.

Too windy for leaf movement still, scared to look and see what happened to my nice piles.

Happy, keep the happy times in mind the memories that guide you each day.

Drew - thanks for the history, very cool, I do remember driving through the north of NJ with the fat rendering and meat processing plants still up there and I remember there being stockades and slaughter houses. So a Dairy farm in the area would have been normal still, but getting rare.

Be well,

During the very windy dog walk yesterday, the 2 people playing and singing must have been very cold.

Well, i found the issue with the engine.
It’s the cam like I suspected, but a failure mode that i couldn’t have imagined!

I have never seen a plastic cam. This is in a CRX honda clone on a Simpson pressure washer.

Im off to a friends shop that hot rods honda clones for go karts. He has a box full of unused stock cams.

good morning, 43 high of 47 with wind gusts to 35 MPH sunny conditions

RTV interior lights left on ran down the battery. Removed it and hooked up the CTEK charger.

Fire alarm chirped. Ten year battery only 18 month in. Took it up to the compressor and blew it out to see if that will fix it. Chirping stopped but will see if it returns

Not sure what I will get into today

Just imagine a dairy farm in the middle of downtown Newark, today! You have to wonder if his decision to switch to auto repair was based more on the obvious growing need, or because he could already see that maintaining a farm in Newark was going to be unfeasible at some point, if not already.

Our closest town also had a large poultry farm up until about 1970, on a site that's now a gas station, bank, and several other busy Main Street businesses. I wouldn't have believed it, if an older friend hadn't shown me pictures of it, from when he grew up on that farm. :ROFLMAO:
not a farm, a processor, pretty sure raw materials were trucked in
whole downtown Newark razed for new development around train station.
not the garden of eden

my understanding was grandfather's family raised cattle and perhaps did dairy farming
in Western Ukraine. So makes sense they would bring those skills when they emigrated.

Are you a Russian/German?

Before we get to many questions, below is how google describes the German farmers who migrated to Russia, then later moved to the Midwest to homestead and farm. 55% of my home state of SD is these German-Russian's.

-------------- Below I'll add---------------

There was already people on the land that Catherine invited them to use and they did not like these German's who had more rights than them and paid no taxes either.. Their stay didn't last very long and after they found out about about the homestead act and the land, whole towns picked up and moved to the USA. Most ended up in ND SD, MN and NE and started up whole communities of these German-Russian's. In ND you can find onion domed churches built by these immigrates.

------------------------------------- google says below.
German settlers were invited to Russia by Empress Catherine the Great starting in the 18th century, who offered them land, religious freedom, and other privileges to colonize new territories. These settlers, known as Volga Germans, Black Sea Germans, and others, populated areas like the Volga region, the Black Sea coast, and the Caucasus. Over time, many faced a loss of privileges and were later deported during World War II, though German communities and their descendants remain in parts of the former Soviet Union and have also settled in other countries like the United States and Canada.

Good Morning to All Who Celebrate! Currently 44° heading to a high of 46°, cloudy and windy, rain forecast for the rest of the week.

Productive weekend, despite appearances, I got all the wood sorted and piled to dry on the pallets and covered with a tarp:

Not the prettiest stack, but hopefully sturdy enough. Also got a call back from the salesman at Messick's working through buying the snowblower. I have a feeling that this winter is going to be bad. But in saying that I likely just doomed us to 60° December/January/February.

Sister and her Husband packed up the baby and their dog on Sunday after a good weekend. Celebrated Thanksgiving early as they'll be at his family this year. Mom's always sad to see the little man go, even after chasing him around the house. Didn't get a chance to get him on the tractor, was a little too cold for him according to his mom. So be it.

Goals for this week: Waiting on the call from my local Messick's when the snowblower comes in so I can pick it up. Other than that, just survive the workweek. I guess it's time to start thinking about Christmas Gifts too.

Fuddy, sorry for your loss. May your mother Rest in Peace.
Wingsprd: Like a picture out of a magazine!
Drew: Wow! what a piece of history. It's always amazing to trace your roots and see where they end up.

All not specified, Stay safe out there Y'all and Be well!
Prayers for all Ailing and Recovering!
