If the shop does everything they are supposed to, it's a money looser for them. As if will take over a half hour and the charge for most vehicles ends up being about $21.

My truck was done last month and my wifes car is due this month, it will be interesting to see what we get charged for her's being electric a tad bit difficult to do an commission test, so it should only be $10.

I wish ours were that inexpensive. I think my trailer inspections are about $160/year.

NH starting 2026 inspection not needed after certain age,I do believe that's bad idea.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 12.6C and it's presently 20.4C, mostly sunny with a steady breeze. There was 4.0mm in the gauge @0900.

Yesterday's pharmacist appointment went very well = she explained what all of my med's did and what is most likely to change in the near future. After lunch I got 'stuck into' stacking wood, especially as the BoM predicted a lot of rain starting by 1500. Of course nothing happened, rain-wise, so I carried on stacking. As I reported above "a lot of rain" was only a few overnight.

Today will simply be more wood stacking this arvo.

It is a really large tank plowing a field with a 5 or 6 row plow behind it. Could you not open it?

I could not open it without a Facebook account password, which I don't have.

And I couldn't open it because the Facebook AI still has me blocked/suspended.

Just after I posted about the hydro bill, the lights went out...Power lines down across the road 4 doors up from me. They are down and across the road between civilization and me. FD on the scene blocking the road. I am the second last place on a dead end road.
Hydro says they will have it all fixed by 20:45 tonight.

Update: Power came back on at 03:30 hrs. 4th November 2025. So much for 20:45, that never happened.
The power actually went off at 5 P.M. I waited till 7 P.M. to post.

Good morning, the low is 35 and going up to 48°F. Wind W 7 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.

Good evening all. 49ºF for the start, clear sky , light breeze. Light wind, moderate gusts, clear sky, and high temp was 77ºF. Made coffee to start day, office work, bike ride, faster time , lunch, mow back, nap ICVFD board meeting, Fish club meeting. Both meeting were longer than normal.

With snow and freezing rain when driving, don't plan on turning fast or stopping fast. You can drive at whatever speed you want but for turning of stopping.
Back in the '70s when I hauled gravel it wasn't uncommon for me to run south on the 400 hwy (4 lane divided highway) 65-70 mph in 6" of snow. I passed my Jewish boss one day on that road in the snow, he asked me IF I drove like that on Spadina expressway (another 4 lane divided highway), to which I answered yes. He told me that if I ever hit a car traveling at that speed to back up and run over it again. I asked why and he told me, dead Jews don't sue. This guy was a Reform Jew whereas his brother was an Orthodox Jew.

Drinking hot cup of coffee. 28° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 60° with partly cloudy skies. Never got garden pond winterized yesterday. Left foot was complaining about be over worked on Monday. Did put a wifi connected switch in to operate yard light. Foot feels better today. Will get back at pond winterizing today. Yesterday winds sent a lot of the leaves in yard off into field to east of me. May get mower out and send what is left into field.

Morning all! 41 going to a partly cloudy 51.
Managed to get the leaf vac loaded 3 more times yesterday.

Will try and get more done today but high winds are on the forecast.
Family coffee time was yesterday. Everyone showed up and a good time was had.
Before I can do leaves we have breakfast with the neighbor today. After that I'm going to the Cpap store and try to get a different mask setup. My current one pushes on the nerve and muscle that hurts with my neck issue. Which is back to hurting again. Looks like the shots didn't work. Will find out the next step in a week or so.
Wife's parents continue to go down hill health wise. More and more doctors visits needed. Her mother now is stage 3 heart failure. New meds aren't working and numbers keep climbing in the wrong direction!

My cherry dish got 4th place in this months challenge! Not spending much time in the shop with all the outside work and family stuff. Did manage to bang out a quick project from scraps. Saw the project online and wanted to give it a shot. This is the prototype banged together with scraps.

Might make a couple as gifts as their will be a few new children in the family in the coming year.

That's it for now need to get ready for the day.

We use our A Advantage card for everything, so with the points we quite often get upgraded.

So we should be on the DR at 12:03, just in time for lunch

Chilly 34 this morning but supposed to head for the upper 60s with sunny sky.
Up way too early for us. 4am. I'll pay for that this evening. Have I mentioned I hate time change. More so in the Fall!

World around us looks really good right now as we are in peak colors.
Had a good day yesterday. Started with a little seat time dumping the rest of the ballast stone on the bridge. I'll probably get a load of pea stone or crusher run to fill and lock the rest of the bridge together. Then touched up the rock crossing that I use to get to our "pump trail". Just stepping stones really. Now I got to fix a tire. It's always something. Got a little to close to a large rock and tore the valve out.
Next up was getting all the tools put away from the buggy so I can find them. Surprising how fast it gets unruly.
Took the buggy for a mile or so of riding to shake it out and find anymore weak spots. It did really well. As long as I didn't have to go backwards. That cable should be here today. Hopefully early enough to get it installed.
My cop buddy is going to come out at some point and measure his trailer axles to replace them. I offered the shop, lift and myself to help. But unless he waits I am going to Fla for the weekend. Either way I can give him access from anywhere. His Polaris 4x4 is still here too. His call. One of very few that I would trust full access to the garage. It's not that he is a detective but his character.

Nothing much planned for today.

Good morning TBN! We got back from camp late yesterday and everyone was tired, but a good tired. Found this across the road as we left camp. Yes we delimbed it, and drove past it on its left side. Was our longest time at our new found camp yet. This tree was about 75ft tall. I should have added its in the lower 40's here now but warming to 50's today and rain moving in tonight.

43 outside this AM, heading to mid 60's today. Another nice day on tap.

Yesterdays big deal was walking out to the horse pasture in the front to see the wife do her thing. After about five minutes of standing I decided I would lay down in the grass. Two things were noted:
1. The grass needs to be cut again.
2. It was very relaxing staring up at a clear blue sky with nothing to do.

I think I timed the grass cutting wrong, seems the warmer weather the last past weeks gave it another growth spurt. I doubt I will be able to cut with the ZTR as it is just too rough a ride. Don't feel into doing any more cutting anyway. Oh well...next year.
