your beautiful wife not coming Ken?
well...I guess I can settle with you...

little grey out but sun is trying hard
just picked some more tomatoes; ones coming in at the end aren't always
nice looking. Almost picked a pepper but wanted to wait til it turns complete red

70°F and .37 inches rain

Spent too much of yesterday getting Sophie’s new iPhone set up and functional. Tend to think the system was overwhelmed- super slow. Over 2 hours just to connect her watch and update the software. And then the fun of finding out which apps needed passwords reset, like the gate app. Would not have been good if I missed that one, even with new mangate.

A nice meal with her brother. Sophie abit awed her baby brother is 70. LOL

No plans for day. Football, energy conservation

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Saw my first copperhead of the year yesterday on our hike. Wasn't keeping a sharp eye out and nearly stepped on it...instead my step turned into a leap and a swear.View attachment 4111960
what I did when a rattler rattled at me on the AT once, it definitely saw me first and gave a warning, I gave a jump.

84F with a mix of sun and clouds @ 12:30, calling for a high of around 85F for the day with increasing cloudiness as the afternoon progresses ... (y)

Followed by a chance (60%) of occasional light rain late tonight ... (y)

Low this morning was 56F.

Got hopper, both tube feeders and both suet feeders refilled yesterday first thing. Also scattered some seed for the ground feeders. Small doe appeared and was eating the seed I scattered shortly after that.

After that went back to working on post holes.

Got 4 of the 5 on the northern perimeter dug and cleaned out a little further with depths of 37", 39", 39", and 37". Those are basically done. Did not attempt the hole closest to the house.

A little more work on the northeast corner post hole, that one was at 28" last time I measured.

Hit all the rest of them on the east perimeter with not a whole lot of progress on most of them. Depth measurements on those were: 34", 33", 24 (has a large rock impeding progress), 38", and 36".

No measurement on the depth of the last (southernmost) post hole on the east side but certainly less than 36". It is the last one before the (southeast) corner post hole which I haven't started yet.

All holes on the east side were given around a gallon and left to soak overnight to see if that would improve results.

Did a good bit of work with the digging bar on the large rock mentioned above after watering to see if I could loosen it up. Did find the back side of it so we'll see.

Cleaned up around all the holes, pulling the dirt back.

Rotated the two 12' round posts, have a small section to re-coat with asphalt and then those two will be done. Think the other two may be complete.

Agenda for today:

Finish up coating those two round posts.

See if we can make any further progress on the holes on the east side.

Cover post holes to keep them from getting flooded if we do actually get some rain.

Beyond that see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)

Good worship, good lunch back at the Italian place. Had a guest at services from NW of Houston, so told him about some of my "tractor friends" live down that way. He came to lunch with us.

More on our trip:
2 weeks ago was Day 4 which started in Springfield IL. Attended worship with a congregation there, after services changed clothes there, and hit the road west on I72 for the approx 2 hr drive to Hannibal MO. Got there earlier than I had on my schedule, so we took the Mark Twain house tour instead of waiting for morning, and I helped whitewash the fence that Tom Sawyer tricked his friends into painting.

tour also includes Huck Finn's house, Becky Thacher's house, his fathers law office, and Grants drug store. All written about in the Adventure of Huckelberry Finn. Afterwards we walked down to the wharf, where there were 2 large cruise ships docked, and made reservations for an evening dinner cruise, on a smaller one than this.

This the one we took:

Coming back later in the day, the dinner cruise on the Tom Sawyer was 2 hrs, and finished after dark. Enjoyed a good dinner, and a guy playing guitar and singing. The Moon picture I posted Sept 8th was from the cruise, on the Mississippi river.

Reminds me of a song:
Well, I built me a raft, and she's ready for floating
Old Mississippi, she's calling my name
Catfish are jumping, that paddle wheel thumping
Black water keep rolling on past just the same

Old black water, keep on rolling
Mississippi moon, won't you keep on shining on me?

GFCI has nothing to do with overall current draw. It only reacts to an imbalance in current between the two power wires that would indicate a leakage to ground.
If it’s tripping the GFCI, there is likely an issue with insulation.
If it’s tripping the circuit breaker, it’s drawing too much current.
Mostly correct, but also some circuits that put a lot of noise onto the circuit can cause false trips in GFCI's, such as any motor circuit with a VFD. So, if that mag drill has a VFD, it may not be an indication of an insulation problem.

Also large electromagnets generate enough of surge to cause issues. As that's a magnetic drill, that would be my first suspect.

All the best, Peter

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 1.9C and it's presently 15.5C partly cloudy with a steady breeze.

A lovely Church Service yesterday.

There's not much planned for today but I do have a bit of 'tractor fun' scheduled as the "Mad Agisting Horse Woman" requested her last round of hay to be delivered this early evening.

That's about it, take care all.
