70°F and .31 inches rain, forecast to be another wet one

Yesterday turned into a day of on and off much needed rain. Not a lot but every little bit helps

I watched the Apple Event, about the only thing even remotely related to my tech days.

The wetness promoted energy conservation , but that came at a cost. Sophie has a new iPhone Air reserved for purchase 9/12. Also pulled the gun on my Flail upgrade. TBH, neither were spur of the moment. Had planned on trading Sophie’s iPhone once the new ones were announced. Had been working the flail upgrade more than a week and it finally came together. Like that I can pay no interest 6 months with PayPal.

Have dinner invite tonight at newer friends house.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

We got the bark out of the basement and I cut the front grass, too. I lost another Shelter Logic roof sometime over the summer. Just spotted it today. I've ordered a 20X30' tarp to do for this winter and will replace it in the spring.

The rest of today is energy conservation.

Water softener salt comes tomorrow.

nice visit with my sister, sent them home with lots of veggies
this morning I bought four small mums, 4.98 apiece, two decorative pepper plants at 6.95 that were
quite colorful, and two decorative gourds at 4 bucks apiece. Downright reasonable prices.
came home and got them all planted and decorated.
that's enough, time to put feet up, back really hurts

Was 76F and sunny @ 13:00, heading up to around 79F for the day's high. Low this morning was 42.1F.

Got suet feeders refilled first thing yesterday.

Noticed the carcass at the northwest corner of the garage that was making all the stink when I went out to do that. Looks to be a coon not a groundhog ... so that's a bit of a mystery.

Judging from the way the maggots were going at it, they should have it cleaned up in a few days.

After that went back to watering garden.

Watered all the summer squash, gave them a double dose - 64 oz each - as a reward since they've been so productive.

Also did some very heavy pruning on those, will see if that extends their productivity.

Found a cucumber on a vine that had grown from the arched trellis all the way over to one of the tomato plants in a grow bag and was going up the cage. Probably about 10'. Picked that and gave it to the Woman who dropped it off to friend along with some other veggies.

Also watered all the tomato plants in grow bags, 32 oz (or less) for those.

Once that was done, I started on the okra ... think I got 7 (of 9) of those done. Gave them the double dose (64 oz) as well.

Got another 2 x 12 glued up and clamped.

Checked on the 12' round posts, they seem to be curing up well.

Deer seem to have gotten the memo that things are ripening up in the garden, had another intrusion yesterday where they knocked the east end of the fence down so I put that back up.

They mostly seem to target tomatoes and the pole beans ... usually taking a bite and knocking them off the vine and not even fully consuming them on the tomatoes.

On the beans they mowed about a 6' long section of the vines, striping off all the leaves.

On the agenda for today (in no particular order):

Refill hopper feeder.

Glue and clamp another 2 x 12.

Rotate the two 12' posts and give another section on those a second coat.

Finish pressure washing the area in front of the garage.

Probably do some more watering in the garden.

Need to take down a section of shelving in back so I can get the Kubota in there to drill a hole for a corner fence post.

Beyond that see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Hump Day ... (y)
