You'd do well to get a tower type basket, as they don't jam up the pump as bad, when they fill up with leaves.

I remember when I ran those old style baskets you have, one time the pump even sucked the basket down into the skimmer housing, I had to bust up the basket to get it back out. Other times it'd be sucked into the housing so hard that I had to shut off the pump just to withdraw the basket.

Arly, that's quite the snow prep. Nice view from that point.

My son and I took the dogs on a real nice long mountain hike yesterday with perfect weather. Stopped at the Ice House to bring home the best fried chicken and fixin's, since my wife stayed busy all day babysitting our GD and the son's other dog (too old to hike).

Rest day today...son and gang went home. Muscles a little sore keeping up with son yesterday.

You mean in the rim? Nope, they're just there to clear the mounting screw ears used in round skimmer lids or box extenders. They're small enough that there's still overlap with the mating surface on which the basket lip sits.

Good morning! Low of 54°, going into the low 80's range. A strong t-storm went by late last night.... but only .06 in the gauge. Under the storm, up to an inch of rain reported.

Bad day for Dona yesterday, she just couldn't get any relief from the back pain. Meds are mediocre at best. She takes meds 4x a day but over the last couple of months, the efficacy is getting less. Just about a month until her orthopedic appointment.

Today's agenda is to wage a battle against the weeds.
The RV is parked close to the side of the new garage slab preventing me from doing the final grade on that last side. If I get far enough cutting, I'll relocate the RV out a little further. Then I can play with the tractor some more and complete the grading.

Time is slipping past.... I better get moving....

got the phone number of repairman Popgadget recommended, googled the guy and it was all positive with one reviewer saying fully satisfied over 28 years.
So this guy has seen it all.

He is a great guy, I get my appliance advice suggestions from him. He is the one that said if everyone had a speed queen washer he would be out of business.

@daugen We have had a Bosch dishwasher for 15 plus years. Seven or eight years ago, I had to replace the main pump. $50 part, tiny and less than half a hour of repair work. If it ever dies completely, I'd replace it with a Bosch in a heartbeat. My extended family all have Bosch dishwashers with no other failures.

Yeah, a bad day at the port. I'd be interested to know what set it off. For perspective, the port of Los Angeles (San Pedro) is about Philadelphia to New York City distance from San Diego, which also has a port, though not up to the size of the big three on the West coast (Seattle/Tacoma, Oakland, Los Angeles)

@scott_vt Perhaps not fancy, but nice job. I love the style and function of the fire starter parked out front; is it parked there in case of an emergency deconstruction need?
