Good Morning
62° and grey outside. Supposed to become partly cloudy with high in the middle 70’s. Between yesterday and overnight we got about 1/3” of rain.

Yesterday’s visit to the RC show was interesting. It’s hard to imagine what these guys put into their hobby, I bet this A10 has at least 30k in it. And that’s not counting the trailer to move it, or the truck that pulled the trailer. It’s about 10 feet long.

This F86 Sabre even had a motorized canopy that slid shut as it taxied out.

When I got home I started to make some tooling for the DI-Acro bender, but discovered that I didn’t have the material I needed (3” cold rolled round bar). I called a friend, and will pick up some cut offs from him tomorrow.

Met our daughter’s future in-laws and had dinner with them last night. They were nice, it went well overalll.

Today I’m off to Martha’s Vineyard to pick up some people. Rainy and dreary there, hopefully it will be clearing up here.
It is amazing what some of the RC planes and other RC "toys" are and can do!
From tractors and excavators and such.

70°F and .22 inches rain.

Change of no plans yesterday. About 10 days ago we noticed Makani had a sore his collar. Guessed it was caused by the wire keeper from his name tag. Removed collar and applied a topical, some improvement but not significant. Called vet and surprised to get same day appointment. Now he has 2 prescriptions to take next 14 days.

The Japanese Ramen restaurant was excellent, rather extensive menu. Even more surprising, when we left about 6 the place was packed and people waiting outside. We’d go again.

So likely to watch football today. Not a clue what’s happening with any team, just haven’t kept up.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good morning! Low of 48°, heading towards 82°, sunny. Had a good t-storm last night which left just over a half inch of rain in the gauge. We really needed it, the monsoon season turned out to be another "nonsoon" .....
chances of more showers won't happen until later this week.

Good news ---- it's official: Dona is cancer free! Another follow up with the oncologist in 3 months, another scan in 6 months. WOO HOO!
She is now cleared to see the orthopedic folks for her back, already scheduled for next month. Hope they can come up with a fix/solution that's easy... her back has been getting worse.

I finished up with all the concrete work for the new garage about 2 weeks ago. Total of 20 yards..... kicked my butt for sure.... but hey, people pay to join a gym and workout.... I got it for free!
Did 3 sides of final grade last week, the RV is blocking access to grade the last side. I'm planning on moving it this week and finish the grading.

Had to put the garage project on that brief hold to get caught up with the normal outdoor stuff.... the weeds were 3-4' tall in spots. I have spent 2 days already.... and only halfway through. The worst thing about letting the weeds get out of control is the infestation of a plant that produces "goat heads"..... these tiny 1/8" razor spiked hard seeds that will penetrate the sores of your shoes! They are everywhere!

In between the "war on weeds", I started to rehab a trailer that I bought at an auction this past spring. It was set up as an equipment maintenance trailer with fuel tanks/pumps, air compressor, grease tub, and tool box. I was really just after the trailer.... all the rest was extra to be resold. Finally got around to removing all the equipment. I'm in process of rewiring new lights, new tires came in yesterday, waiting for breakaway brake controller to arrive tomorrow. Then will be set to pick up the next batch of materials for the garage (metal roof and purlins). A 'before' pic:

Hopefully I can start to assemble the giant erector set this week.

I'll try to take some pics of the concrete slab and the trailer work sometime this week. I'm recovering from a trip/fall on Friday. I was carrying an empty box out to the shop to cut up.... stumbled on the edge of a coiled garden hose, then onto the box, then to the ground.... spread out over a distance of about 10'..... was probably very comical looking....
I ended up with a few good scrapes, a bruised upper arm, and a pulled back muscle. I guess I don't bounce anymore......

I don't think I will ever get caught up on here....
I hope everyone has a great day!
LS, great to hear from you, and great news on Donna.

Today's project (getting the trailer lights and brakes working) didn't go as well as expected.....

Put the new LED trailer lights on, wired them up, and tested with a battery--- all worked individually. So, added a new 7 way plug, thinking everything was good to go...... NOPE!

The trailer brakes now work as they should, the truck "recognizes" the trailer. The running/marker lights work. BUT no turn signals or brake lights on the trailer.....???

Got frustrated and called it quits for today. I'll try tomorrow to isolate the issue, hooking up the RV to see if the truck will work those lights.....
And, I'll jumper the trailer lights again just to make sure they are still working and not an issue with the wiring.

I hate chasing gremlins......

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 14.2 and it's presently 19.2C, mostly sunny with a very strong gusting wind. There was 5.9mm in the gauge @0900.

A lovely Church Service was had yesterday.

I've taken my flagpole down today as a precaution due to this wind... which is a pity as apparently today is "Tasmania Day". Why? I don't know. But I would've flown my Tassie State flag today.

I think that the only thing I'll 'get up to' is to give myself a haircut. That'll ensure that Winter temperatures will return for a while. ;)

That's about it, take care all.

FWIW: Many newer vehicles have sensors in the turn/brake circuits for minimum draw, and low draw LEDs without a burden resistor sometimes fail. BTDT. The only cures I know of are to add the resistors, or get compatible bulbs/lights.

If you search your vehicle you may get more specific feedback.

All the best, Peter

God is Great! Ted and Dona, such great news! Best news of the day for me. Cures for cancer is one of my prayers. Sorry about your fall. Round up or Target 6 on the goat heads.

70°F and no rain

Uneventful visit to the medical center and my PFT.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
Dave, be careful with your lungs. Hope all is well. I recommend these for mowing to keep the dust out of your lungs. I use them multiple times before I chunk them, sometimes a whole season. I even wear them when I'm grinding or sanding. Had a friend pass away from breathing sawdust his whole life.

Drinking very tasty cup of coffee. 40° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 65° with mostly cloudy skies. Got pressure washer out and washed car to start day. Then moved garage door control panel for west door to next to other side of Garage. Now both opener controls are just inside service door. Then helped neighbor get another neighbors lawn mower running. Got that done then decided to hang bikes up on ceiling hangers. Got first one up. While putting up second bike neighbor lost his balance fell off ladder. Do not know what hit me but 4 staples later I got out of the ER. Since I am a senior they put me in a wheelchair and put a support around my neck. Amiditly was taken for a CT scan. It showed no problems. When in the ER room asked why I was given such quick care. When they asked my age I told them I was 83. They thought I had a bad head injury. Because I did not look that age. All is good and get the staples out in 7 days. Today will be a conserve energy for sure.
Another fog picture.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.
Ron, glad your on the mend, and have good neighbors to help. I was thinking it would be wise to have a neighbor around when you go after that big wasp nest in the shrubs.

I'm very sorry to announce that unlike one of you in Texas I did not win
the powerball. But I did, for the first time, win four bucks, so got my money
back...
maybe next time we all get new tractors
Sorry to say but it wasn't me Drew. Darn. 1.7 Billion could buy 17,000 new $100,000 tractors. :)

Son and I practiced tennis. I litteraly threw him ball after ball to practice his game. My old legs can only move about 3 steps in any direction. He plays some games tomorrow, not too far from where I work. About 30 minutes away.
US Open tennis championship was great. Carlos Alcaraz from Spain won 5 million 1st place, only 22 years old. They said he's already won over 50 million in winnings in his short career. He speaks good English.

Big college football game next week. A&M at Notre Dame prime time on NBC at 7pm ET. I don't think my Aggies are quite ready for this yet. Our young skinniy QB got crushed yesterday and I'm not sure how well he will be by next Saturday. Hoping for a close game.

Popgadget, Yes I'm amazed too at how much love, dedication, work and money some put into their RC hobbies.

Prayers for our team, Bupps and Holly, Ted and Dona, David Sodamo, mostly, Lou, Ron and all of you. Our nation, and for peace in Israel and Ukraine.
