Good Morning from Central Texas,
About 6:30, the usual Mid 70's temp and dew point. The weather station outdoor unit finally crapped out after 8 years, so had to Amazon a new one due in next week.
Hauling some cattle today. By the time I am done with that, I could be done for the day.

Good morning TBN!!
55 wonderful degrees heading to 80 with a slight possibility of spotty showers.

Laid back yesterday. Cleaned up the shop from recent projects and made sure my manroom was presentable. (Spare bed) GD and family showed up about 8. Visited for a little bit then off to bed.
Hard telling what we get in to today. No firm plans for anything.

Time for a second cup

Dennis good to hear slides getting annotation. Any idea how many other slides from other family members?

all slides are from my parents. I do have 3 trays that a sister took in England that I have not scanned.

Packing right now and will be heading to northern MN in a few minutes. Was in the 40's this am and will run past a property that's came up for sale on our way west. (near Ont if anyone cares) Plan to be back Sunday or Monday night. Driving all day is no longer my favorite thing to do.....

I have a roofing question.
landlord having problems getting anyone to come out and fix my living room roof, which is missing
about 7 shingles. Roof is at least ten years old, what is best practices here? One guy apparently mumbled something like they don't make
those shingles any more but he had some in his barn. Well, he never showed up.
I've called a "real" roofer but wonder if this was yours, what would you do?

Plan to work some more on a window now that the wasps are gone.

Made a round with the excavator and ripped out mile-a-minute overgrowth

Fuel sending unit appears to be stuck on the van at 1/4 tank even when full

D in Detroit/Windsor for speaking engagement and extending for the 46th annual Jazz festival. Apparently one of the largest Jazz festivals in the world

First week went well for GD at college saying "everything is all good"

Morning all, 58! going to 75 and sunny, seems like October, leaves falling, chill in the air.

Got the tractor out and moved some wood piles to final resting place and knocked over some hung branches.

While lifting the second pile, a cloud appeared , Yellow Jackets.
Backed the tractor up until I got to a log, shut it off, locked the brake and moved slowly off an back.
The YJ swarmed the forks and started going at the hood as I moved off.
I went back last night to dust the nest.
It seems I lifted the piece of wood covering the nest leaving it mostly exposed.
No wonder they were so angry. Can't believe I got away without getting stung.
Went back later after they calmed down, release the brake letting the tractor off the log without starting, cut up the log with M18 pole saw, figured the gas saw would rile them up again.
Moved the tractor about 20' back and then went to work on a few other piles.

Did some shopping and then worked on the towel rack in the apartment which mysteriously came off the wall and the kids tried to tape it back on . Wish my son would just tell me when this kind of stuff happens.

Night get some time to work on sons jeep and see if I can unpop the bumper and get the clips back in. He won't be back to a month. Might also do some pool time and of course a round of watering to the gardens.

Drew - wonder why shingles coming off roof? If they are ripping, then they may need to be replaced.
