Beautiful day
Good breakfast with the gang
Wife helped and we got all the potatoes dug. Used BX to take piles of weeds away. Even took up the plastic between rows, so now when the weeds grow back, can mow them.
I just got everything put away in barn, my wife started cutting back bushes in front of house, and she kept going and had a big pile, so got the BX back out to carry the stuff away. Then she decided to cut some all the way out, at which point I asked, you want me to dig them with BH?

In between all that I got new chain on battery saw, cut large pine limb blocking view up the road as we pull out of drive. First cut threw chain off. Messed with it awhile, got it on good and tight this time. Hauled those limbs using the forks, before I got grapple on

Also filled a barrel of water from my Almost full IBC tote behind house, fed from AC condensate, and watered garden

61°F and clear skies this morning, only got up to 79° here today. We finally shook out of our rain/hot/rain/hot cycle this weekend.

Been awhile. Got a comment the other day from RNG on a Facebook post which served as a reminder that I hadn't been here for far too long. Looks like everyone's still busy. Hope all are well.

The 10mm kidney stone I though had been blasted into dust a few months ago was not. In fact, it had just been pushed down the tube I was told it would not go down, and settled just outside my bladder. Doctor went in Thursday with a laser, broke it up, and hauled it out. That was no fun. The two days since have been no fun either. Ouch. I go back next Thursday to get the stent removed from my ureter. More no fun stuff.

Of course, now that the miserable weather has broken, I'm sidelined. Figures. So it goes.

Good evening, gents.

   / Good morning!!!! #209,688
nice to hear from you PJ, sorry your kidney stones weren't cooperating.

had a nice swim at my friend's community pool in Hatfield, then a nice dinner and by the time I got home
was getting dark. Had to slam on brakes only once, not for a deer this time, but a mangy looking red fox.
I really don't enjoy driving at night here any more.
in fact since I hit that bear at night in NC, probably haven't enjoyed it since.
half my friends won't even drive at night, I'm usually the driver. It's just not relaxing when you have to go
through a gauntlet of kamikaze animals.
and every one will cost me my thousand dollar deductible if I hit them.

Dennis, nice job on the shrubs. Bit of job creep on that...

Happy Birthday Ken!

Condolences ArlyA.

Feel better Mostly and PJS.

We got rain!!! I've been mostly a couch potato today.

Went down to the coast on Friday, picked up an old outboard (bought on auction not running), friend bought some TRP props, and went to another friend's funeral. Near Corpus Christi. Ate at Charlotte Plummers and had a shrimp plate.

Researching old Yamaha 2 stroke OX66 outboard engines. They have quite the following, and plenty of them out there. But getting old, and full parts support not available since 25 years old. This one is fuel injected.

Prayers for the team.

Is that the job supervisor on the porch? :)
Looks like a lot of work was done in this good weather.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 52° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 81° with lots of sun. Neighbor came over and helped me put up a new 75" TV. Gave old TV to install in his shop. After that we drove around his yard trimming trees and picking them up. After that came home and finished programming new TV inputs. This morning Sassy goes to groomer. I will do some shopping while she is there. Grass is growing fast. Front yard needs cutting again. May get that done in afternoon. Then some NASCAR.

Good Morning TBN,
Ct, 58 to start going into the 80’s. Looks to be another beautiful low humidity type of day for the pizza party that Kathleen is putting on later today. 🙏

that reminds me of using Smith charts in college in the antenna theory course.
GM Dennis, well I’m glad I’m not talking Greek to everyone on TBN 😂. You probably know more about Smith charts than me 😉
AND I use all Auto tuners (external) as the radio tuners built in don't handle much more than a 3:1
GM Steve, well my Icomm IC 7300 has a built in tuner but I believe it will only handle smaller mismatches. I bought a Comet 300 adjustable tuner for my portable operating, while using my Yaesu FT891 for POTA.
It sounds like you’ve got quite a compliment of antennas Steve. My base station antenna is a DX OCF multiband dipole up about 60 ft, with the shorter leg close to 70 ft.
That thing works out amazingly well. I will leave a couple of pictures of my portable antenna and testing off of my tailgate yesterday 😉

Billy thanks for the comment on our Vt mountains. Beautiful this time of year but can be ferocious in the winter 😉

Thomas, sounds like you are a busy beaver moving fire wood already. Won’t be long now 😉

Hope all have a blessed day ! 🙏

   / Good morning!!!! #209,699
good morning all on a very nice August morning
a "chilly" 55 this morning going up into the 80's.
first cup of coffee going down, waking up slowly

think I'm going to tackle the bathroom door trim replacement
in the rv this morning. Normally I'd use my chop saw to cut molding but this stuff
is not wood, fake wood, and I think safer to cut it with a very fine hand saw.
going to pick an arbitrary length, like three or four inches and replace that much of the
vertical pieces. I have eight feet of trim, if I screw up, will try again. I don't even think this stuff sands
normally.

using trim that immediately self destructs when contacting water is pretty stupid
to put in a bathroom of any kind. Crazy part is this is normal for industry

yesterday was fun, but also upsetting. My old friend is not doing well, not only is he mostly confined to a wheelchair,
but both ankles and feet are now hugely swollen with edema. He wears weights on his ankles to keep his legs down in the pool, but
he started to sink and went right under in a 5 foot pool, and I had to haul him back up. oh dear, kept a hand on his floaty after that.
Had a nice dinner after that and a quiet Sat night drive home in light traffic. I find dealing with my friend exhausting at times, but can only
imagine the drain on his wife, so I try to help out as much as I can.

I bet it's a three tomato morning. 👍

57 sweet degrees...going to 80.

Condolences ArlyA.

Nice work, BEF.

I don't understand why it takes me so long to lube my zero turn...I am careful and clean up the excess, but 3 hours, plus prep time? 19 zerks, and 8 spots to oil...it's a real workout crawling under, over and squeezing into so many tight spots. I started late since the grass was so wet, and I do it in the yard, therefore the dew was falling by the time I finished, so didn't get a chance to mow to enjoy the new grease. :)

My wife has been up at our grandaughter's house, babysitting and having a great time. My son and his wife went to stay in Lexington for a concert Friday night, and then to climb McAfee Knob yesterday. His first time. They sent some great pix.

Another "National Day"...at least this time it makes sense...National Watermelon Day!
