Even if you don't watch baseball, tonight's game will be unique. They temporarily converted Bristol Motor Speedway (NASCAR) into a baseball park, and expect to have the largest attendance ever for a regular a
game...maybe 90,000.

The game will be on your local Fox affiliate tonight, and the pregame show will probably show a lot about converting the race track.

Bristol is the city where the state line runs down the middle of the main street downtown, separating TN and Virginia.

I've never tried permethrin, but after getting probably over 20 tick bites this year, I ordered some and the shipment came this week. This year, ticks are the worst I've even seen them.

Good morning, the low is 56 and going to a high of 79°F. Wind W 7 mph. Partly cloudy and smokey. 30% chance of showers in afternoon.

I found Calcium Cloride $38.oo/44 lb bag. Not cheap.
That'll do the trick.

Not sure what I will be getting into on this long weekend.

Have a safe day all

Keep the permethrin away from your cats. It'll kill them. You can wipe it on your dog also your horses, but not on the kitties large or small.

with Ford's latest recall I wondered if recalls were getting out of hand.
no, in the 30 million range year after year
am curious what average cost per recall was
pretty sure many of these are fixable by over air updates
In last year surprising recalls for bad engines, due to bad builds, for both Toyota and GM.
Im not sure what the average cost is. But the cost for my F550 service trucks recall cost Ford $8,000 to a third party utility bed installer to remove and reinstall the bed of my service truck so Ford could install a frame support behind the cab.

Nice in the low 70's for my morning walk with the pooch. We stopped by the dog pen and grabbed Sasha as well.

That was going really good until both dogs decided to play and they got me tied up in both leashes

Put Sasha back in her pen, gave her some good scratches.

Sasha had some excitement last night.

A Possum decided to help itself to her kennel and she wasn't happy.

Moved Sasha out of her pen, gave the Possum ample time to move on, which it didn't. so the Possum caught some lead poisoning.

Wife's still trying to recover from 4th surgery. She's been really tired.

So off to get my hair cut when she gets up. Then to find someplace to take her walking with ac so she can build up her stamina. Probably will grab some lunch in town while we are there.

We got dinner tonight with our niece. Gonna try a new restaraunt in town that just opened.

Morning all, 71 going up to 80 and sunny.
Worked late yesterday, then we went into town, sat by the river for a bit then to pick up dinner and say hi to my son at work.

Feel better Mostly

Phil, love the pens, very creative as well as skilled.

We were looking at the grand highlander while shopping for my car earlier this year, the amount of bad reviews for mechanical/engine stopped that quick, first year can be rough.
One of the tells for a bad year is to see in 2 years, all of the lease cars with 4-5000 miles on them. The jeep GC hybrid , which was on my original list, I saw dozens with less than 5000 miles at the end of lease. Never a good sign.

I worked Radar for a number of years and when out in the field (war zones) would see some of the long wave antennas the military used, some hanging from balloons. Sometimes a little field on base. Sub comms were even more interesting as I had friends in black ops who worked on helicopters . I spent time in Sub and helicopter mock ups used to test equipment for ASW and Radar, so got to talk to the comms people here/there. Subs use super low frequency to get distance. This means messages take a long time to get across.
The sub simulator was interesting, since it was a mock up using all real equipment. Designing equipment to go in a small space with weird thermal and noise requirements.

Off to work in the yard, it's too nice to sit inside.

Be well.

A very comfortable 65F and partly cloudy @ 11:00, heading up to around 77F for the day’s high.

Got hopper and both tube feeders refilled first thing yesterday. Also both suet feeders, plus scattered some seed for the ground feeders.

Hauled down 3 bucket loads of wood chips to mulch an edge of the west planting bed.

Went back up after that and grabbed a bucket load of screened compost.

Got another 2 arbs planted. 7 total so far, only 3 left to go.

That used up all the planting holes I had drilled.

Got one bill scheduled for payment while taking a break.

Cleaned out some weeds and vines growing under a couple of evergreens and gave them a little pruning .

Think they’re a spruce and white pine that got stuck in the ground on a temporary basis when we were planting all the bare roots 20 years ago and got tired.

It ended up being permanent and they are now over 8’ tall. And too close to each other. So one will need removed.

Dumped remainder of screened compost in bucket by the 3 winter squash I planted over by the southeast corner of the house.

Some trellis work done on pumpkins in back.

Did manage to sneak over to garden for a quick look just before it got dark.

The Hubbard Blue we put in a sling has outgrown that and is now wedged into the cattle panel … so will have to see if we can extricate that and free it up. It’s about the size of a large cantaloupe or honeydew melon.

Or at least it was last night … who knows how big it is now …

Pole beans are starting to bloom.

Think today will be the day we spend some time in the garden trying to get caught up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday …

69°F and .12 inches rain and raining.

Dried enough after yesterday showers I was able to knock down the rest of the guinea grass area, most of it 3ft, some 4 ft tall

County having a zoom presentation this morning on the new ag property rules. Wrote my check for half of this years extortion. Oh for the days when my monthly mortgage payment was about 20% of today’s monthly taxes. Progress???

Meeting Sophie’s brother and GF for an early dinner

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good morning TBN!!! Afternoon
66 when I got up staying in the 70s. Been raining slightly all morning but it's very pleasant temps.

Up too early this morning but it's been productive. Burned a few rods reinforcing some weak areas on my scrape blade.
Got it finished and I will put it back on when the rain stops.
Went and got a HF air over hydraulic 8 ton ram for my cherry picker. Much better for lifting.
Other then getting the blade off of it's mount yesterday that was pretty much all I did

Had my second cup
Everybody have a great and safe day!!

I like Bristol area, could do TN around there.

The Savannah bananas played at Camden yards last night, that was entertaining.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 4.4C and it's presently rocketed up to 4.7C :D with a predicted High of 15C. The sun has just poked itself past the clouds with another calm day ahead. There was 0.4mm in the gauge @0730.

I'm off to Church in a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.
