Morning all, 79 going to 94 and sunny.
So yesterday ended up being a lot more work than anticipated.
Started by refinishing Pool bar and in between coats doing some lawn mowing.
When I went to mow the lower field, the whole path was covered in a fallen maple that split about 20 feet up.
It also was covering 3 of the newly planted and replanted trees!
So after working in the heat for 4 hours, got out the pole saw and slowly cut the maple branches around where the new trees are, expecting the worst.
So tree one, got branches cut, cage was at 45 degrees, tree fine.
Tree two, cage mushed a bit, tree damaged, but is one I don't really care about.
Tree Three is my new apple tree, it was completely covered by branches.
cut around the tips, then a few feet in, until I saw the very mangled cage.
Finished cutting now that I knew where to cut to take the pressure off the cage.
And, Apple tree in one piece !
Unbent the cage and cut up the rest of the branches. The bigger stuff can wait for the chainsaw.
So now 7 hours in at 90degrees , completely wiped out, got cleaned up and went to dinner at the newish Thai place in town.
Got home and after about an hour of resting and watching a movie, cable went down again.
So we went out back and I lit the firepit, and we sat out there with the dog watching the fire.
Cable came back up a few minutes ago.
Mostly, how old was that tire ?
Be well,
plastic scraper to 40 grit to 80 grit to 120 to 220 and then wiped clean. The old Epiphanes really did not work well at absorbing in. Trying cheaper polyurethane this time
How to stain when it's super hot, umbrellas worked great. Bar looks good, will see how it fares this winter.
Unexpected tree to clean up, lots of work, but happy with M18 pole saw and the apple tree survived being under hundreds of pounds of maple branches somehow.
Our solution to cable being down,
