Good morning!!!!

For general repair and fabrication I much prefer 7014 over 7018. No where near as “fussy” about storage or restarting an arc.
I have not run even a dozen 7014 rods in my life. To me it was always more of a sheet metal, flat position rod that required highly cleaned material.
Much of mine has been repair of equipment that has broken while being used and they wanted it back a half hour before it broke.
Even when I'm working with new steel it seems that my go to has always been 6011 for the root then clean up and use a 7018 for a cap.
Some of that may have been because so much of the time my welding has been with AC welders and welders with more current capacity on AC compared to DC.

Pushing 9AM.
Good Morning to everyone.
More weather complaints here.
Yesterday we reached a hazy, humid 70F. Improvement on what has been on offer here.
This morning the furnace is on and we'll be fortunate to reach 55F and maybe, just maybe, 60F Sunday.
Sunday June 1.
We should be running AC not heat.
Bought some herbs for the garden the other day and don't know when I'll plant them out. Maybe in pots.
Really strong winds blowing as the proverbial cherry on the crap cake.
I'm going shopping. Don't need anything, just shopping.
May the fleas of a 1000 diseased camels infest Ma Natures nether regions and her arms be too short to scratch.

Morning all, 58 going to 70 and rain, got almost 2" last night
at This rate we will have waterfalls soon.

Was mowing last night and hit a hidden chunk of wood which knocked off the deck belt.
So I learned how to take the deck off.
Glad I did as it had old grass under the shields. All cleaned off now.
I ordered filters and fluids for hydraulic and oil/air so I don't have to worry when it was last done.
Will get the deck and everything greased up this weekend.

Driveway base is in and looks good, top coating on Tuesday to let it dry from the rains.

Engineer42, nothing scarier than fire, hope they all make it out ok.

We just lost one of our local rangers in Tyler park, found his kayak flipped over with him still in it in flood water conditions. Very experienced guy with wife and kids. Sad day in the park.

Wonder if more trees will come down around town with this wind.

Be well,

Base coat done

wonder if this is beginning of a bad forest fire summer

the A team is headed over here to figure out what I'm doing wrong with my rv sound system.
what's interesting is I have the same sound bar in my living room, we could swap it out....hmmmm
hadn't thought of that before.
maybe some success but who knows

55F, cloudy, and very breezy @ 11:00. That should be the high for the day. About 1/2 inch of rain over the last couple of days. Can hear the grass growing.

Having first cup.

About a week to 10 days ago The Woman came down with some sort of upper respiratory thing ... nose running, sore throat, etc. Only lasted a couple, three days. Couldn't decide if it was a bug or just allergies as the pollen has been bad here.

Back around Tuesday/Wednesday I had been mowing and/or up in the shop cleaning/vacuuming. Dust is pretty bad up there ... everything is covered with a layer of fine dust ... probably from grinding.

Anyways by late Thursday I really had it going on ... nose running like a leaky faucet, violent sneezing, and a tickle starting to develop in the back of my throat.

By Friday I had a sore throat ... just perfect timing for my doctors appointment. Anyways we masked up and headed on in.

The poor girl that I saw was due to start her vacation on Saturday. So she masked up as well. Hope I didn't give her anything to take along on her trip.

At any rate, the appointment went well. Went over the results of the blood work I had done, everything looked good - no issues with sugar or cholesterol, PSA 2.6, BP 120/80, and gained around 6 lbs since my last visit ... (y)

Only thing she wanted to recheck was my previous PSA score - to make sure it didn't jump a full number since my last test. She'll have to dig into the old records from another provider - which she has - to do that.
After we finished there we headed over to Waffle House for brunch which hit the spot ...

Once we got back home I crawled back into bed and slept for around 4 hours.

When I got up Woman had run out to pick up gyros for dinner.

Had some of that then lying around on the couch for a few hours watching second season of Lord of The Rings on Prime before hitting the rack again.

Slept like a log.

Feeling much better now - no sore throat today - but still not completely over whatever this is. Still have a bit of the runny nose but not as bad.

Not sure what I'll get into for the rest of the day but it probably won't be much.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

Ken stopped by and we pushed every button on the rv stereo, at least twice, turned it on and off, and
finally the sound came back. Not sure why but now the soundbar works and the new dvd/cd player works.
couldn't have done it without him.
Ken's new Audi very nice

pretty windy and cloudy out, hoping to conserve energy today.

69°F and .22 inches rain

Eyes good for another year. Interesting appointment. Dr had moved to new location since last visit. A than the, annoying to me, fill out 3 pages questionaire, not just update. This one was about 50 pages past the toner running out, barely readable. Had to ask the desk girl if it was part of the vision exam. New tech did the intake exam. Looking at my chart, she asks where I live, so I confirm. She asks, Are you Sophie’s husband? ???? She’s the gf to neighbor I’m getting veggies from. Met her 3 times and didn’t recognize her. She met Sophie at 1 happy hour last month.

Got rest of my errands done.

Need to mow the dogs area today

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day.

Drew - I think the sound bar just needed 2 button presses instead of 1 or 3 or 4 :)
really like your new truck, hope it serves you well, it looks really sharp.

Off to work on chain saws and see what else I can do while avoiding the woods with it being so windy.
Had to stop along the main road to pick up some big branch chunks so no one hit them.

Pre filter for Cub air filter washed out and now drying.

Another 8 or so tomato seedlings repotted.

Woman off to scope out tops at a local yard sale.

Need to mix up some of that Schultz’s tomato food and check plants out back on shelves.

Momma deer came strolling through earlier with her two white spot fawns.

I’ve run literally miles of 7018, it works in all positions, and doesn’t require much, if any prep. Probably not as good as 6011 on dirty or rusty metal, but it works just fine. And it is stronger. Runs AC or DC just fine.

Good Afternoon,
Some shop time today, needed to come up with an idea to transfer the exact shape of the pattern to the band sawed spindles. Drilled 4 , .060 holes through the pattern and then tacked it onto the rocker spindle with tiny finish nails with the same diameter. I have a 1/2 by 2” follower bit with the bearing on top to follow the pattern. Seems to be working well.
Years ago while still a model maker at Pitney Bowes I created a router table on the left side of my Delta UniSaw out of aluminum jig plate, works out well for this type of work 😉

good morning all
long night, heavy thunderstorms came through, 1.62 inches on gauge,
power went out at 1am, was raining hard enough sump pump running hard, so even with battery
backup on sump, I needed to start the gen. So out into pouring rain I went and fired up gen.
could not get back to sleep, so drinking cup of coffee now and sure planning on a nap this afternoon.
Hey Drew, what about a remote start?

   / Good morning!!!! #207,355
Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of -0.7C... which is what it is now and the sun is just coming up. Predicted to get to 17C on this, the first 'official' day of Winter. It's clear & calm and there was 0.5mm in the gauge.

The horses were returned yesterday evening so I guess it wasn't a weekend excursion.

I'm off to Church in a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.

Had the regular breakfast crew together again, except my wife and another wife.
weird weather day, sun then clouds, then rain, then sun, then lots of wind... Too windy and muddy to work outside, that's my story and i'm sticking to it.
convinced my wife to go out for Mexican food tonight.

Hey Drew, what about a remote start?
it came with a remote start key but I've never trusted it.
plus I need to pull one end of cover back off the muffler area.
As well as turning on the propane tank first.

nice marinated flank steak dinner at my brother's home, don't expect to be up long considering
last night's lack of sleep.

That was supposed to say miles of 7014, not 7018
