I take it they have to import all the cement.
Had a breakfast meeting this morning. came home and lit the firepit again, this time it burned. Got a bit of yard waste gone, although was very smoky at first due to the wetness. Sun starting to peak out now, maybe will be dry enough to mow later today or tomorrow afternoon.
Yea, pretty much

lexus dealer said my right front strut was starting to leak.
quoted me 1100 bucks to replace one strut. Utterly laughable. 🥹
I ordered two (should do both sides at same time) KYB Excel G struts from Rock Auto, here on Monday,
for 162 delivered for both. Need to find someone to install them, shouldn't be too hard.

they also said I had a slightly leaking differential seal and wanted 2200 bucks to replace both seals.
no thank you. That needs more research. I had both differential fluids changed today, a little overdue.
at least they did the diagnostics.
Drew, I could be wrong here, but it seems your history with used vehicles leans expensive.

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low was again 0.1C and it's presently 13.1C, clear & calm.

A lovely day was had yesterday and Paddock #1 was chain-harrowed.

Nothing really planned for today.

That's about it, take care all.
...afterwards stop for critter food and pallet
Oooh... can we expect a "Pallet in Fields" thread 'update'?

Good evening all. 64ºF for the start, mostly cloudy, light breeze. Light wind, variable cloudiness, rain threatened to come south but did not, and high temp was 79ºF, HI 84ºF. Made coffee to start day, was going to do bike ride, then reconsidered after radar and forecast. Grabbed trimmer and walked around property, had to reload string, factory coiled so tight it was pain to work with. Had lunch the went for ride, paused to recheck radar, and decided to finish ride. Trace of rain fell. Nap shower and dinner.

Drinking hot coffee. 46° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 73° with mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of a thunderstorm. Shopping went good yesterday. Made one last check on neighbors Mule. Turned the key and battery blew the caps off. Off to Rural King for a new battery. Stopped on the way back a few gallons of Recreational Gas. $4.36 per gallon. Put new battery in Mule. Started and ran as it should. Spent rest of the day doing yard work. Mostly pulling weeds. May cut grass today.

lot of continuing rain in forecast, and a flood watch posted

new dvd player for rv came in, will need to install that today. I might need to borrow Ken to
figure out why the sound bar doesn't work. I'm sure it's operator error but I can't find the issue.

hot coffee going down nicely, eyelids raising, ready to greet the day

Morning all!
57 going to the 70's.
Had to rescue the nephew yesterday on the highway. Alternator quit. I jumped his dead battery with my truck to get it going and it quit as soon as I removed the cables. Hooked the jumper cables back on for a bit to give it some charge.
Got it running long enough to remove the jumper cables and hurriedly hooked up my jump pack. Got it to run long enough to get it off the highway. It quit again half way home. I repeated the process but this time hooked the wife's jump pack that I grabbed on the way out. Got him home!!
I don't recommend anyone my age or older change an alternator on a 2009 Honda. You have to remove a bunch of stuff including the front motor mount! 340 dollars later it is back to running!
Right after I finished that job I got a call from my father in law saying his seat wouldn't go backwards and he had moved it all the way to the front to vac the back seats.
I removed the seat plastic and jiggled and banged on the connector and switch and it started working again.
Nothing else got done and today will be a do nothing day for sure! Neck is not happy with all the upside down work!
More graduation festivities to go to before the big day on Saturday. To bad it looks like it will be pouring rain so the event will be indoors and severely shortened.
Nothing from the shop. Maybe get back in there next week.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Phil, sounds like you are the hero of the day there. Nice work.

the fire season has sure started in Canada. Bad uncontrolled wildfires in Central and Western Canada.
I wonder what this means for US other than a lot of smoke pollution blowing down here.
New Jersey was on fire last week.

forest is wonderful, grew up in it somewhat, but not if likely to catch on fire.
our woods here stay damp enough usually, but last Fall we had a drought which created real problems.

so soggy and wet here hard to think about fires. Hopefully no loss of life with these Canadian fires.

Good Morning,
Vt, 54 going to 66 with cloudy skies. At least it’s not raining, actually we really haven’t had any real rain since we got here on Wednesday afternoon. We are both hoping to get a maiden voyage in on our pontoon boat on the lake this afternoon, sounds like the sun could pop out briefly, we hope. Also need to tow the trailer up behind the barn to get it out of the marina.
We save $100 bucks by bringing it up here.

Ron, beautiful bird pic today 🙏

Drew, that sounds like highway robbery to me 😉

Billy, sorry that Della didn’t get the swim on because of deep water 😒

Did a little work out in the shop yesterday bandsawing the rear spindles for the rockers. Probably a bit more time today on that. Yesterday I was kind of beat after cleaning up the grass clippings so not much ambition in the shop. We will see what today brings.

Hope all enjoy their day 🙏

Scott, I think the word I've heard is stealership...
I just need to be selective in what they do.

am hopeful local garage will do this, so I can see underneath and look at the leak dealer pointed out.
I can live with a slow drip/seep. Can live a long time if it costs 2200 bucks to fix it.

makes me wonder if I broke that shock bouncing on that mountain road the prior week. Bet I did...when
it decided to give up.

grey and a little foggy out, I can hear the lawn growing, grows an inch every couple days with this rain.

55 this morning big storms today believe they go east of me. Started replacing dead shrubs tripped in hole in yard fell sore this morning antibiotic working on me now barely made it to bathroom then spent hour cleaning up mess walls floor it came out like volcano erupting very tired this morning. Still have to monitor leg for another two weeks very slow healing.

Got 12 shrubs hopefully they live colorful and butterfly attractive we shall see once done send pictures.

No collar mostly

Drew in my experience I at least are better off buying new generally I end up spending almost as much if I’d bought new. My Ram has 110000 miles now bought new in 2019 October 16 my birthday oddly

Prayers for all our Country

Morning all, 63 going to 78 and cloudy.
Driveway ground finished, today base coat. weather guessers say rain will hold off until 8pm, so its a go. Top coating will be Tuesday. The owners son has been here to run the crew. Havn't seen his dad or brother yet. a good family run business that's local.

Went and looked at a JD x360 with 600 hours, neighbor up the road selling for another neighbor whose husband passed a while back. Other than the usual hood damage, it looks in good shape and fluids look clean. Newish tires and blades. Hydraulic lift and power steering are so nice.
So it came home with me last night.

My boss called me late yesterday, he resigned and wanted to tell before I learned through others. He officially announces on Monday.
He was the guy who hired me many years ago, will miss his even keel. oh well, a little more stress at work.

Drew - stereo help this weekend is possible.

Neighbor has a nice spread, some horses and a lot of projects he showed me yesterday. He had a trailer so used that to get the JD to me.

Buppies take a rest day. bushes can wait for you to heal more.

Be well,
Already took it for a spin and cut, 48" from 38" is nice and it fits in the front of garage (yes I measured before I bought it). Just a lot wider.

The turkeys across the shared road are not happy with the machinery.

Good morning, the low is 50 and going up to 68°F. Wind SW 9 mph. 60% chance of showers.

Today is dump/town run with a stop at the dope store. Running low on Metformin.

I might see if I can get my power washer going. I've had it for 4 years and it hasn't washed one vehicle, yet.

Might not get up to anything today after the dump run.

Have a safe day all
