Good morning, 55 going to 74 rained all day yesterday no rain in FC today and getting warmer

Changed the oil and filter on the excavator. Kubota calls for every 500 hours. Changed it after 200 hours. It holds a lot of oil for a little engine and takes a large diameter filter. Used Rotella T6 15W-40.

Good morning everybloody.
Still looking at the garden plot with high hopes and low expectations.
We are just managing mid 60s when we should be averaging mid 70s. Clouds and rain. Even the ducks are saying, "Enough already." :ROFLMAO:
Looking forward to Saturday. High predicted to reach a blistering 55F.
Hopefully better growing weather elsewhere or it's going to be a long hungry winter.

Don does the model club do planes and power boats as well?
Yes they do. I'm thinking of getting a power boat. I will go to the neighborhood lake and watch them first. I can always practice in the backyard pool.

Yesterday was Germans last day of water volleyball and they said their goodbyes. Going out to eat last night did not happen as a severe thunderstorm warning was issued with baseball size hail. The hail did hit our county but about 20 miles away. Pizza in was good.

69˚F, cloudy. We had 1/4" rain yesterday.

Trip to the airport on the agenda for today.

Good Morning,
Vt, 54 to start going to 64 with cloudy conditions. I did briefly see a little blue but it’s gone now. I cut the foot high grass in the yard last night before sunset, my little z turn took a beating. I should have just bush hogged it with my Massey 😉
This morning I’m raking up the piles of clippings. What a job, that’s what happens when you disappear for 3 weeks 🥲

I repaired it with stainless steel, but still clean it off every mowing.
Paul, I remember you doing that project, very nice job BTW.

Paul Pj, $28 K is a great price.

David, sorry I forgot that you purchased new awhile ago, senior moment 😉

Happy, hope wrist feels better soon.

Frits and Thomas lots of stacking guys, pace yourself.

Don, I agree that the Germans have great English speaking skills, better than my German for sure.

Time to get back to taking again.
Hope all have a good day 🙏

56F and partly cloudy @ 08:30, calling for a high of 72F for the day.

Special Weather Statement issued earlier for patchy dense fog, now expired.

Light rain/mist pretty much all day long yesterday.

Decent progress up in the shop.

Got the aisle way on the west side cleared to the back shelves so you can get back there without breaking your neck.

Lower shelf on 3rd section of west work bench cleaned, also one shelf on back shelves.

Rounded up a bunch of cans of spray paint and got them put away on that back shelf.

Tire/wheel inventory mostly sorted out.

A couple of 5 gallon buckets pulled out from under the west workbench. One is used hydraulic fluid which can be reused in the log splitter.

The other is a mystery fluid … which based on the smell of it is probably phosphoric acid. Looks like over a gallon of that … which will be useful for treating steel. Think there is another 5 gallon bucket of that up there somewhere as well.

Cleaned out the little Shop Vac.

Cracked open another package of mothballs and deployed those in various places to keep the rodents at bay. Still need to do the welder.

Overall, the shop is getting messier as I clean things up, sort thing out, and get things stowed away. Eventually it will pay off though.

Agenda for today:

Some more clean up in shop this morning as things warm up and clear off.

Work on getting posts coated later.

Break out stakes and string lines and start laying out fence lines and marking where post holes need to be drilled.

Looks like feeders are due for a refill. Can’t believe how quickly the birds are going through the suet cakes.

Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday …

69°F and .3 inches rain

By all reports, SIL’s back surgery went well and back home recovering under the care of her loving sister.

Headed over to my friend John in a bit. He is getting a concrete pour for his tractor shelter, one of those quonset hut type steel structures. 19+ yards. Only going to observe and say Hi as most of the guys did my concrete.
But at $260/yd I may have to be a bit consoling as well.

Not sure what I’ll get into when back home.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

But at $240/yd I may have to be a bit consoling as well.
I take it they have to import all the cement.
Had a breakfast meeting this morning. came home and lit the firepit again, this time it burned. Got a bit of yard waste gone, although was very smoky at first due to the wetness. Sun starting to peak out now, maybe will be dry enough to mow later today or tomorrow afternoon.

lexus dealer said my right front strut was starting to leak.
quoted me 1100 bucks to replace one strut. Utterly laughable. 🥹
I ordered two (should do both sides at same time) KYB Excel G struts from Rock Auto, here on Monday,
for 162 delivered for both. Need to find someone to install them, shouldn't be too hard.

they also said I had a slightly leaking differential seal and wanted 2200 bucks to replace both seals.
no thank you. That needs more research. I had both differential fluids changed today, a little overdue.
at least they did the diagnostics.
