54 and a little ground fog about a foot high. Going to 80 and low chance of rain.

Buppies, I'm so happy for you and Holly. I was thinking of you two as I drove through Catawba from Craig Creek yesterday. Prayers said for you both and the nurses.

BEF, deck is looking great.

LS, sorry about that terrible hail storm. You already have too much going on to have that dropped on you.

Ron, congrats on new GGson.

Phil, never heard of 4 cubs...wonder if another mama was nearby.

Spent a couple of days hiking the AT in Brush Mountain Wilderness...was fantastic. Talked with several thru hikers about the Hurricane Helene destruction further south. Fortunately, the trail is hikeable in all but one area, after hard work by the Forest Service and many volunteers clearing fallen trees. Was surprised to see one hiker wears only sandals on his feet, and covers 30 miles a day.

One of the highlights of my hike was paying my respects to Audie Murphy at the monument erected where his plane crashed in 1971. He was the most decorated soldier in WWII, earning 3 Purple Hearts, Distinguished Service Cross, 2 Bronze Stars, 2 Silver Stars, and the Medal of Honor among others...and of course has entertained millions as a movie cowboy and soldier.

I added a token of appreciation and remembrance as many have before me.

Good Morning
53° and likely make it to 75 under partly cloudy skies. Fair chance of rain this afternoon.

Yesterday was more autocad and 3D printer time, interrupted by tractor and Lazer time.
Put the 90” 3PT Landpride mower on the tractor and mowed inside all the pastures, then got on the Lazer and did all the inside fence lines.

Wife had to put an alpaca down, it was the oldest in the herd at 22 years old. So I put the loader back on the tractor to load it into the truck to get cremated.

Today I’ve got to head for the airport shortly, another short visit to Palm Beach. I doubt I’ll get anything done when I get home from that.

Good Morning,
Ct,55 to start going to 70. Looks like today is our last good day before the monsoon rains return.
Work yesterday was not bad, I was all done by 1 pm and got home to cut the lawn that was over grown.

Well Take the General test while you are there it doesn't cost any extra and you can at least see what you are up against
GM Steve, thanks for that info, I will be thrilled to pass the Technician exam but like you say, why not take the general also if it doesn’t cost extra. A lot has changed in 55 years 😉 . I was never really into the theory so I’m weak there but my 73 1/2 yo mind will do its best 😁. After all these years I think I can still copy 20 wpm.
Was surprised to see one hiker wears only sandals on his feet, and covers 30 miles a day.
GM Billy, amazing, hope he wast clearing trees with a chain saw and candles also.😂.

Going to get my hearing checked today, Kathleen wants me to get hearing aids. I really don’t want them but we will see what happens.

Need to get the weed wacker out today , and see what else develops 😉

Hope all have a great day 🙏

good morning all
came home yesterday to hvac not working.
worked with Popgadget testing some spots and turns out no power out to the compressor.
over my paygrade so I called the hvac folks landlord uses.
this was after flipping hvac breakers several times

meanwhile did a fast mow on the yard, more rain coming in over next few days and it needed cutting.

woke up dizzy again this morning, issues with vertigo and inner ear likely
just going slowly, no sudden head moves

Good morning! 61˚F heading to the low 80s, N wind. Pool temp is going the wrong way with the rain and N winds. Now 72˚. Pool bots are still working but not much to collect, finally.

On the to do list: clean gutters, clean/start fountain, mow yard, get haircut. Will try to finish 3 of the 4 today.

Mostly the Farm's veggie burger would be on the approved list with a different bun and not cooked with oil.

Good morning TBN!!
50 this morning and quite cloudy. Supposed to get to the 80s with sun and clouds giving way to rain and Tstorms. Some could be severe.
Looks like I have one more day before taking a break on bridge. Yesterday was more washing and compacting gravel and carrying large rip rap to put in place. Body feeling it this AM. Want to get some more in place then bust a few bags of sakrete over them to help solidify.
Hoping to get enough rain to test but not so much as to fail  🤞
Did go get 30 gallons of fuel.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good morning, the low is 32 and going to a high of 55°F. Wind N 9 mph. Sunny!

First thing this morning (9:30) I've got a quack appointment. Then back to the house and do the normal dump/town run with a stop at the dope store for the script I renewed on the phone a few minutes ago. Gotta get to the bank today as well to get the cash for the wood guy.

After the town run I need to get busy and install the oil meter.

The first of next winters' firewood arrived yesterday and I pushed that up into a higher pile than was dumped. 12 cord = $2100.oo cut split and delivered and dumped in a pile. He has 2 more loads to deliver. This is leftover wood from last season. It will be plenty dry for this season.

wngsprd, litters of 4 or more cubs are rare but they are very capable of having them.

Many years ago I came face to face with Mum and 4 cubs right in the middle of the highway. (This was way before the mandatory 65 mph speed limit for Ontario based big trucks)
There was a lot of rubber left on the road that morning. This was before anti-lock brakes. nuff said.

Have a safe day all

good morning, 59 going to 74 with rain later on tonight possible
We have gotten several inches of rain the last few days

Thank you for all the birthday wishes
Had a great day yesterday

Plan to get back to projects in progress but first have to mow grass before it is getting to be 12 inches

little tool used to lift with has proved to be very useful in aligning boards and also use it to take measurements of gaps.

Made a yoke and drilled the outer wall for 3/4 inch treaded rod to pull it into alignment. May have gone a little overboard, it may be able to pull a 50 ton tank

D's knee is getting worse but surgery is scheduled for next month. No more driving before surgery and recovery. Work trip scheduled to Hawaii. Not sure if she will decide to go

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! 62° going to a high of 76° and rain forecast for the next two days.

I bring tidings today as tomorrow will involve a 6 hour round trip, don't think I'll have time to post.

Price had increased to $700 on the mini-zero turn up at the cabin. My aunt was in a huff about it, but my grandmother expected it to be worse. As I said, it was up there for 10 years with little to no maintenance. I told grandma that it would be a worthwhile investment and will probably last another 10 years.

Mushroom soil came for Mom's garden beds, about an hour of seat time shuttling that to the raised beds. Still have about a bucket full left and covered with a tarp to prevent rain from getting to it. That's of course right next to the pile of tanbark that's still waiting and covered with a tarp.

Ordered Mom flowers for Mother's day. Still need to pick up her gift. I'll get to that eventually.

Mowing is almost caught up, one last area that can wait until the rain clears on Saturday. Dad did all the mowing this week, I just followed behind with the weed eater.

Here's hoping work gets better soon, this whole flat to the board thing sucks.

Goals for the weekend: Finish mowing cycle, spread the last of the mushroom soil, fell tree.

Y'all stay safe out there and be well!
Prayers for those ailing or recovering!

Good morning GM'ers !

After a considerable period of cooler (and wetter) than normal weather it finally looks like things are about to break and some more seasonable (warmer) temperatures are in sight. Which means more outdoor/TBN time.

The cooler weather was preceded by warmer than normal weather and the grass has been growing like crazy.

Have already mowed 4 times this year and it's probably overdue by at least week to 10 days at this point.

Have been very, very busy.

Have spent the last week or so up in the shop, working on getting that cleaned up. Progress has been steady but slower than I would like. Likely to remain slower as the weather warms and I can spend more time working outside.

Yesterday I drove about an hour southeast and did an extraction of home heating oil for a fellow whose home had been switched over to propane fuel some years back and he wants to pull the underground tank.

Extracted a little over 300 gallons ... and it seems like there's at least another 12" still in the tank. I say "at least" because we were not sure if we were actually on the bottom of the tank or not. There's also some question as to whether it's a 1000 or 1500 gallon tank.

Need to get that offloaded from the van today ... but that will require rearranging some things in the barn so I can get the primary tank it's going into moved closer to the door.

Future steps will include setting up a pump and centrifuge and starting to polish it. But there's some set up work involved with that (plumbing and a power source for the pump mainly)

And of course I have to make at least one more trip down there to extract the rest of it.

Looks like the rain has mainly ceased for the next 5 days or so, so I should be able to get back on the mowing soon.

Hope everyone here has been keeping busy and doing well.

Morning all, 62 going up to 79 and cloudy.
Drove to the dealer to get my state plates and reggie. Then took the long way home. Passed by the Ferris Beuller glass house, but with the trees leafed out not viewable.
Now I can get my easy pass, parking etc. worked out.
Yard work piling up though.

David - tractor is fixed - big party required!

Drew - good luck with the AC - hopefully only a cap or breaker. I had a mouse nest in the one behind the garage once, compressor did not like that one bit.

Maybe get to setting up and planting the corn?

Be well,

I tried a new cap first, only because it was easy and boy was I careful not to ground
those connectors. No joy. Then Popgadget walked me through checking for power and there was none,
I think, at the interconnect box. I'm kinda nervous around 240V so hope I checked that right.
tech is coming at 11am, good service from local old company, my grandfather used them in the 50's.
so expensive though...glad I'm not paying for it.

going to be sunny today and this poorly insulated cottage quickly gets up to 80+ inside.
with my allergies and pollen anyway I keep my windows shut.
what I did do was turn the system fan on manually in the basement, and it circulates cooler air throughout the house
which really helped, even if compressor wasn't on. Enough uninsulated ductwork in basement temp of 60 degrees down there seems
to help.

just went out and picked up two more tomato plants, for yet another veggie pot gift to friend.
2.99 an excellent deal in front of the better of our two supermarkets.

Drew, you just described my A/C. poor mans A/C, turn on the furnace fan.

Quack appointment all done. A1C 6.4
Blood type B-
All through school I was never one for As, so a B- is normal. ;)

Dump and town run done as well.

Wood guy dumped another load of wood off while I was out. That is all pushed up. Too cold to work with the hose and meter today so that will wait until a warmer day.

66°F and .84 inches of solely needed rain.

Never got to mow yesterday, but I’m ready.

Have a late morning Dr appointment in Hilo. Another VA evaluation for my disability claim. Same Dr I saw in March.

Need to pick up some universal tractor fluid. I had lost about a gallon from oil cooler leak and the change over.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

my a/c is happily running again, but found out this house definitely got surged.
The transformer was hot as could be, swapped that out, and the almost new thermostat on the wall
had a strong burned smell in it. Replaced that and everything started back up.
had to laugh, he didn't have the right size transformer, so lid would not shut all the way.
we decided no style points involved...taped the opening shut.

on this day I was picking kale in NC
