Good Morning
65° and sunny, chance of thunderstorms and showers this afternoon, high of 80.

Yesterday was a nice day, got some chores done, mowed around the house and fence lines with the Lazer,took the string trimmer for a walk, followed by the blower.

Did a quick drawing for a hitch for the push roller from the RC club so it could be pulled behind the mower and roll while you mow. Easy project, provided exercise for the plasma table, MIG welder and press brake.

Helped youngest son with a chore or two before putting my feet up for the day.
Generator exercising now, I guess I should get started with my day.
Canada geese hatched some goslings next to the pond, they are out for a walk now.

Depending on early the thunderstorms arrive, it might be a good day to fly to lunch somewhere in the little plane. It’s getting close to needing a mowing, if we get some rain, that should push it over the edge, so I guess I’ll wait and see what the day brings.

57 this morning with some clouds. Should be around 80 today with thunderstorms this afternoon.

Yesterday was some more seat time working on the bridge hauling rubble. Big rubble.

You can see the old tank on the right side in the background. It folded up like a tin can!
My tractor is parked in a much bigger hole then I realized. Driveway follows the post over top. I am glad I could get drive there so I can pack it in as much as possible. That's on todays agenda too unless I get rained out.

Worked on it most of the day until time to get a shower and head to my GSs house warming party. Nice time with the usual suspects attending. Talked about going to Uwharrie National Forrest to watch rock climbing Jeeps and trucks. May be in the near future.

Time for a second cup.

Morning all, 73 going up to 85 and sunny.
Today is brewfest and I am going to be the shuttle driver, got the third row in the truck open and ready.
Later back to friends house for Kentucky Derby Party.
Didn't get much done after work yesterday, just watering, garden maintenance and off to town for a bit.

If it's not too wet next week I will plant corn and fence it. First time for corn, so I expect a disaster
I have to measure out how big it can be based on how much chickenwire I have to fence it in, then use the tractor to take the top layer of grass off and churn the soil a bit. Mound and plant and then raise the fencing. I will go plant two more tomatoes this morning since it's supposed to rain later and for the next few days, but so far no rain has touched the ground in weeks.

good morning, 75 going to 79 light rain in the forecast

Worked a bit on the third post in the barn this morning. Jacked it up about 1/4 of an inch to get the load off it and tried to sledgehammer it over to vertical. No Go. Brought down one of the Yale chain falls and straps and hooked it up after cutting access holes around the beam with the Sawsall. The beam moved over and the third post is now plumb again. Decided to stop there and go check on wife and take the dog out

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 9.9C and it's presently dipped down to 7.5C, calm & partly cloudy. I don't mind the Autumn temperatures 'dipping down' to that temp as on Friday it dropped to 0.0C in the early hours.

Well, the election is now over so all I've got to look forward to is taking down all of the signs. I've (legally) got a fortnight to accomplish that.

Of course, I'm off to Church in a half hour and then the rest of the day is His. A very restful day is in store for me too.

Thought I was going to put on the new headlights on my SUV. Turns out, I must've thrown away the old ones back in 2021. There was a pigtail I need now to revert back to OEM style. Arrgh. another $54. to rockauto.

Went to check on the duck I took to the city pond. He was hanging with his friend. Both are relatively tame and came close to me when they realized I had a cup full of chicken scratch seeds with cracked corn. I think mine's the one on the right.

We've had lots of rain all around us, but not so much on us.

Some places withing 20 miles have had over 8" in last 2 weeks. We've had about 1"

Beautiful postcard weather day. 78F and a breeze.

Motorcycle has leaking fork seals. Might try the thin plastic seal cleaner first.

Reminds me I have a leaking lift cylinder on my 4310'sFEL.

The 2 new deck chairs came early, was waiting for me yesterday.
Large heavy box I opened on the porch, than had to come in for supper
After I just got started and the skies opened up, with wind driven rain. By the time I got everything in the garage, it was all soaked including me.
Got the 2 chairs assembled.

Good evening all. 49ºF fir the start, clear sky, moderate breeze. light to moderate wind, clear sky, and high temp was 71ºF. Made coffee to start day, Solo bike ride 63 miles. Nap. voted on school district bond issues, and drove to North Shore VFD fund raiser for dinner.

Poured first cup of coffee. 40° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 53°. Got back porch cleaned and strip lights installed. Lot more work than I had planned on. Weekly garden pond maintainace in the morning. Then conserve energy while watching NASCAR.

I cut so many cedar posts that I had quite a few left over from the grape arbor rebuild. I cleared out an area of sticks and used the grapple to pull up the honeysuckle...built a simple rack and grappled the posts over to stack neatly. After we had watched "our" blacksnakes (2 of them) during the morning, I decided to build the rack a little higher off the ground to make it less tempting for them to hang out there.

Glad it's wet outside...I need a bit of rest and a cooler day to hike.

Good Morning,
Vt, 50 to start going to 59. Rain on and off last night and I think we lost power around 1 am, but by this morning it was back on. The next few days look very wet, both up here and Ct also.

On Saturday Kathleen called an exterminator because we have an issue with wasps in the front of the house that gets hit with the afternoon sun. I’ve killed a bunch of them but we definitely have a problem. So she called Orkin and they are supposed to come out. They were supposed to come out yesterday but never showed up. So I’m not sure , but we may be staying another day to try and get them out here.

It’s so foggy up here I can’t even see the end of the field from the house. If we stay, I will get some shop time in with this lousy weather.

Frits nice work on leveling up those old barn beams. How big is that barn ? I may have asked that question before but of course I forget easily.

Good morning! 51˚F heading to the upper 70's with sunny skies, N wind becoming Easterly.
Friday, the big rain event day of the week when I got canceled at the "farm", yielded a 0.05" rain. However for the week we did get 2.5", everything is so green. even had to mow the well fertilized yard twice last week and trim the front hedges again. Next rain event will be Tuesday, 90%.

"Deer Out" is still protecting the deer edible plants. I did resprayed after the rains.
Dry riverbed is drying.

The community pool's pump is broke and the water volleyball game was canceled.

The number of EMS calls for our over 55 community for 2024 are:
904 - Falls
482 - Sick person
181 - Unconscious/fainting
175 - breathing problems
143 - Chest pain
There is a Fire Station with an Ambulance in the middle of the neighborhood.
