have a question on Microsoft.
they want me to renew Microsoft 365
other than file storage, what does that really give me?
I see you can get a lifetime version of Office, which is all I use.
advice requested

I ditched 365 for office 2019 a long time ago. I hated the online version, it lacks features that are in 2019.

Good Morning
43°and forecast to go up about 10° under a partly cloudy sky.

Yesterday was all day in the shop continuing to clean up the mess I made by working on the lathe. I had just piled stuff up to make room to move it out, now I sorted through all those piles and put things in their proper place, which for many things was the trash.

Put 8’ of LED work lighting over the electronics/3D printing bench. Ran the printer all day. Pulled out the PA equipment that we will need for today’s gig, moved some stuff to the end of the lane where it seems to go away as if by magic.

Today will likely start with pancakes, then around 10 the boys will show up to load the gear into the KubVan to take it to the gig. Then it gets unloaded and set up, we play for about 4 hours, then it gets loaded up, back to the shop and unloaded, and the gear carried upstairs and put away.
I always say that I’ll play music for free, but you have to pay me handsomely to move stuff and set it up.

Should be an early finish though, I hope to be in the recliner by dark.

Good Morning!

50°F and Clear here this morning! Predicted to be in the low 80's today. That is great! Winds out of the West at 5 mph should make it pleasant outside. No precipitation predicted and 82% Humidity.

King Edward Cigar time is 6:67am CST.

Quick trip to Houston yesterday to attend the Ceremonial Oath of Office and Investiture of a good friend to an office won in the November election. Had an early dinner with a friend who is a relative of William Marsh Rice, the founder of Rice University. Those two things pretty much took up the entire day and didn't get back until almost 9pm. But good BBQ and interesting company.

Going to Houston the traffic east bound on I10 was aggravating but moving at a pretty constant spped of about 60mph for about 20 miles or longer. BUT, the westbound traffic just east of Columbus was at a dead stop for what looked to be ~5 miles.I really felt sorrry for those drivers going west.

Prayers for everyone for good health and a great weekend! Prayers for our Nation!

Good morning! 43˚F heading to 82˚ with plenty of sun and wind from the W then N then E.

I did a test of the sprinkler system zone 3 after the landscape guy reported a capped sprinkler head had broken off while he was doing repairs and yes with the zone turned on it was like an open hose. I was able to dig up and seal off the sprinkler pipe with a no glue slide on coupling from HD. I'll re-verify it's no leak status today before I cover it back up. Always nice to do a repair for under $2.

GM,

Looks nice outside. Running behind. Should touch 60 today.

Late night with a real job, after hours and what not. Rough. Over 50 people trying to figure out one problem that was actually broken down into three separate issues. Man can we make things - complex.

Time to get into the woods and clear the mind.

Hope all have a great day.

Morning all, 51 going to 58 and sunny.
Did get to see 5 of the 7 planets lined up last night even with some clouds.

Wagtail good news on the tooth,

Drew we have Office 2021 lifetime, I use 365 at work, they both do the job. I think the 2021 has less bugs, the 365 has some updated features I use at work, but not really useful at home.
Unless you really use Teams integration, powerBI etc. the lifetime works.

Sorry to hear about your BIL Gale, condolences and prayers.

Happy birthday to Sassy.

My brother is fed up with Dad's GF and is coming home. He did get a lot covered.
I need to get her to pick a funeral home, check if home/state/federal and HOA have been paid.
Should be hugely frustrating with her involved.
And of course see my dad, he is only awake for minutes at a time now according to my brother.

Be well.

The office view. Would really hate to have to commute back into NYC at 5 hours round trip. Will know in April.

my Father did that commute for 22 years Ken.
wears you down and expensive now
hopefully you can get at least a hybrid arrangement

finished washing the rv, good workout, drained the hoses and put everything away, going to 19 tonight.
off in a little while to fill up volvo with gas and take it to sister in Princeton.

There is a faster shortcut through the backwoods of Hopewell
that I'm sure she will use, not an area I know well, but I have to slug through the traffic on Princeton Pike.
Which goes right into downtown Princeton near the University. I have her address in the nav system set to home now, so on way back from
her place, when she takes me home and heads off with her new car, we'll let the nav system take us through the back woods.
Pretty sure Princeton Pike will be jam packed on a sunny day. Have driven in downtown Princeton before, have to be careful of jaywalking college
kids and shoppers.

my sister and husband lived in Princeton on Carnegie Lake for many years and have a ton of friends within literally blocks of where there are getting a second home.
I'm guessing downtown San Francisco did not have as much allure as she thought for her getaway from home rental.
I'm looking forward to having her for dinner.
guess I need to research vegan restaurants locally. She will eat fish but is definitely health oriented like Don.

nice fix Don.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 7:00AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 66F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

+1. Been using the Mac version for years. I won't allow anything from Microsoft in the door.

Realtor #3 turned out to be very competent and a good communicator. But a real steady-as-she-goes type, meaning not much get-up-and-go. She would probably work out in the end, but take longer getting there. I need someone that is going to advertise in more than just the MLS, as the buyer for this place is probably going to come from a major metro area looking to get away from the rat race. Had a number of another realtor I got from a neighbor, but it turns out she's far enough out of the area she wouldn't be available to show the house to prospective buyers, and I don't want just any realtor wandering around alone in the place. So it's back to the beginning with realtor #1, and should get his price estimate Monday and start the ball rolling for the listing.

Realtor #3 pointed out the dirty firnace filter in the hall ceiling and the dirty screens over the air intake for the inverters in the garage. The filter was easy to clean, but the grill was stained, so it got a coat of paint that I just happened to have on hand.

From there I got in a round of weed spraying, also killing time waiting on the tow truck driver to haul away the Vanagon parts car. He showed up right on time, had no trouble loading or with the paperwork, and left me with a hundred dollar check. Way easier than giving it away, which was the original plan.

Got going on one of my least favorite jobs of limbing trees. I'm good for about an hour before my arms feel like they're going to fall off, so I got started just before lunch. Right off the bat I found that some knuckle head put the chain on backwards, and unlike the Makita chainsaw, the Makita pole saw needed a wrench to flip the bar. It was all up hill back to the garage lugging that thing. Then I discovered that one of the Makita batteries wouldn't hold a charge, so there was another trip. But when finallly going, the saw worked well and I only managed to get clobbered by one branch. And instead of piling them on the side-by-side, I put the grapple on the tractor and logged some easy seat time. And since I had the tractor out, I dragged a couple of downed trees down to the burn pile.

At that point I finished up the weed spraying, going through almost all 2 1/2 gallons of RM43. Ouch, the price of that stuff has more than doubled in the three years I've been using it.

That got me to sundown and a hot shower. One of the trees had some poison oak growing at the base, so parts of me were already wet from hosing off the log chains anyway.

Today I'll pressure wash some patios, and finish loading the van for the trip home tomorrow. Might have a campfire tonight, but maybe won't feel like fooling with it.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

58 deg and the wind has cranked up. peak 25 mph so far, on my semi protected gauge.
Will drop and get cold tonight.

Got 1 broken fence post dug out of the ground, was able to dig beside it, then push it over some with digging bar and get a chair around it, and let hydraulics do the rest. If I had put post hole digger on tractor, would have been easier yet.

Hope power stays on, printing out tomorrows class just in case..

Took ranger for a spin down to the creek, everything looks ok. Ranger started sputtering again once I got down there, ran good at first. put some more E0 gas in it when I got back. Some of the gas in it is very old, trying to get some new mixed in.

66°F, still no rain

Fun day with my honda EU7000 generator. Was amazed how much water in the tank. Even more so how much rust given this tank is just over 2 years old. Gave the inside a prolonged acid bath with muriatic acid., followed by a baking soda rinse, soap and water, final swish of Heet, then a good dry. Took advantage and cleaned up and painted exterior rust. Quite pleased when back together and it ran nice. Until I refilled the fuel and it was leaking. Thought, crap, it’s toast. Did some research on possible repairs, then started to remove again. Found the leaking was at the fuel pump. I had to reuse the old seals and apparently didn’t get seated quite right. Carefully reinstalled, problem solved. What should have been a simple project took me to end of the day.

Today I will get it wired back into auto start/transfer switch

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Afternoon,
Kids went sliding out in the field this morning ! I guess that’s a good thing because it’s snowing now and temperatures will be dropping steadily throughout the afternoon!
Snowing now, I guess a squall coming through in front of the cold front !

Couple pictures of the kids out in the field !

   / Good morning!!!! #203,956
got my sister off with her/my car, she was very pleased with it.
I can't get her to use cruise control much less adaptive cruise, she is a seriously
nervous driver that always seems to have her foot well planted on the accelerator.
She has definitely had a lifetime of speeding tickets too, which she could totally avoid
by using cruise. No sale...

thankfully she has a year newer volvo in California and almost all the controls were the same.
Difference was her husband never got the nice model, which I bought as a CPO, but I doubt she will use
all the features. Hopefully her phone will pair up since I have zero idea how to do that.
if I'm driving I don't want to be on the phone anyway. Maybe she can get SIRI to talk to her; I saw an Amazon
connection in there somewhere.

Sat afternoon, time to put feet up. And listen to wind howl through the woods behind my home.
I'm sure the variety of the wood might matter, seems local ash has a certain "hard" sound to it.

Ken, what musical note/frequency is the wind noise through the woods?
He's got the same woods...
would be fun to have a frequency analyzer.
hmmm, I wonder if Popgadget has one.

speaking of whom, I need to go watch him play. I bet I'd like the music.
I just shun loud noise due to my ears, but maybe I could listen a little while.
or hide in the corner and put my noise cancelling headphones on.
He's got a big gig today.
nice to have friends who are musicians when one has zero talent.

   / Good morning!!!! #203,957
actually I'd like PJS to come to town and we'll find the largest church organ in Philadelphia.
And he could play it.
A TBN exclusive...

I'll never forget getting goose bumps listening to organs in several huge cathedrals in Europe.
almost like they would give you religion just listening to them, which I'm sure was part of the motivation.

have a Klipsch 10" sub under my desk.
bring on the organs, music with real notes in the 20-40hz zone
I read that some pipe organs can go down as low as 3.5hz with peaks around 7 hz, and we can't hear that
pretty sure we can feel it, moving a lot of air

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 14.9C and it's presently 15.1C [heading to 20C], overcast and fairly calm.

All's well and Paddock #2 was chain-harrowed yesterday.

As per usual, I'm off to Church in about a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.

Good Afternoon Drew,

Drew, I think that’s a bit of a stretch to say you don’t have any talent ! I think you have plenty of talents, just maybe not many musically ! But I’m sure you can discern good from bad musically ! 😉
