Good morning!!!!

Good morning,
18° now and winds picking up. Snowed about 6” yesterday before the change to sleet and freezing rain and back and snow and repeat a couple of times. Had enough snow base and temps cold enough that rain stayed on top of crust and out of bottom snow base. Start cleanup when daylight gets here, not looking forward to wind and potential power outages. Oh well, it’s winter lol.

Today 02/17
Windy with a few clouds from time to time. High 26F. Winds W at 25 to 35 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 50 mph.

Tonight 02/17
Clear skies. Gusty winds early. Low 12F. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Stay safe everyone

Poured first cup of coffee. 14° with light snow this morning. Heading to 18° with wind and some snow. Got drive and walkways cleared yesterday morning. More snow feel off and on all day. Made my bowl of popcorn getting ready for NASCAR race. Was neat seeing President Trump lead the car parade. Got to see start of race. Then it rained. Finally got to see race startup again. Another rain delay. Watched restart of race. Then fell asleep in recliner. Woke up to see after race interviews. Maybe I will be able to find a rerun of race today. Another walkway cleanup today. My tow bar project is on hold again today. Need to get some measurement from one of the trailers.
Fun to watch birds at window feeder.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

what a long night
still no electric and PECO online page worrisome, says crew diverted to other areas, eta on 2650 out of service locally still unknown after 12 hours.
not looking good, and I got very little sleep last night tossing and turning to noise of gen, never took my clothes off, ready to go outside again.
which an hour ago I had to when gen stopped. Now what, well that propane tank must be empty, and it was.
Had a spare right there and connected it and gen started back up. Will have to get my primary 40# refilled today.

coffee is perking, a little light snow flurries outside and then more high winds today.
which likely will knock more trees down.
good morning, sort of

those snow pics in Canada are incredible, looks like two feet of snow up there on roofs

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...didn't get 2-4 inches of snow overnight :) got outside early AM plow driveway clean 1 of 2 paths,if the winds let off little I'll take snowblower for walk clean up here and there,if unable I'll do it Wednesday.

Morning all!
Currently 21 which will be as warm as it gets. High winds forecast till tomorrow.
Staying below freezing for the next few days.

Lots of ice and freezing rain on top of the 5 inches of snow we got. Not sure if we will be able to clean up what we didn't get yesterday!
Waiting for sunlight to see what we can do. Luckily with the holiday no one needs to travel at either location.
Might need to find someone to come sand the driveway at the apartment house. We had to clean the storm drain a couple times as it kept plugging with ice. Water was several inches deep!
Not looking forward to the day!
Going to relax and enjoy my coffee while everything is quiet still.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

33 going to 43...still windy.

Gusts to 61 at the little local airport. We lost power while we were eating dinner with my son...so had battery "candlelight" until power was restored about 15 minutes later. We were lucky...over 11,000 of our coop customers lost power...many more down in Dominion Power territory.

Check, that's a lot of snow...beautiful, but I'm sure can be a headache. Weather guy put us in the 12+ inches of snow zone for Wed/Thursday...but it always changes.

Lots of rain yesterday morning. Took Della to the park real early, trying to beat the storm arriving...saw cool fog from the snow. Storm beat us by about an hour, so we got drenched...39F and wet, but not bad when exerting.

Good Monday Morning Everyone!

Nice cold crisp 34°F with a 'feels like' temp of 31°F
High Temp today 61°F
4 MPH winds out of the NNE gusting to 8mph
0 precip expected today 76% humidity
Perfectly Clear View

About half way through the morning pot of coffee. Drew I hope you get power restored quickly. Wngsprd glad you got yours back on!

I hope your day is better than you expect mpham!
Thomas it sounds like you will have a great day!
Ron I hope you catch a rerun on the race! Enjoy the morning coffee and birdwatching!
NHBX wishing you good luck on clean up. Hope no trees down to give you trouble. Whew - 40-50mph winds would make it rough to be outside!

I hope everyone can find time to get warm and fed today. My jambalaya sure was good last night with garlic sausage, brisket and chicken in it.

Stay warm and dry if you can! Prayers for our Nation!

Good morning, the low is -3 and going up to 9°above zero. Wind WNW 9 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

Snow on the roof is insulation up to a point. Our houses are built for large snow loads. The steel roof on this one was a large selling point. I don't need to get on the roof to shovel it off. I do have a roof rake for removing the snow from around the two chimnies. Junior will take care of that while I am plowing. I'll start about 11:30 or so and if I am not done by 4:45 P.M., then I will carry on tomorrow. The neighbours get done first, but I do make the driveway passable (just not as clean as I like it) before I go to them. They are a lot smaller than what I need to do here.

That is my day planned out.

Scotty, can you jury rig a pipe onto the generac exhaust to route the stink into the open?

Have a safe day all

Bill, that would be my guess !

Hope all have a good day !

Good morning TBN!!

26 this morning with a high of about 40 under sun.
Not a whole lot yesterday.
I did find a place to store my 25' ladder. Been on my list for some time. Walked down to the river but nothing was going to get across but the tractor. And it did later so I could get the mail.
Got my weed torch. Looks like a lot of fun. And the Beats headphones I ordered. Amazon said Fri but then changed it to Mon. Received on Sun. Go figure.
Got about 8k steps in. Dog had a lot of pent up energy and he used it up :)
Not sure about today yet. Might have to burn some s**t up. :)
Looks like we will get snow sleet mix again tomorrow.

Time for a second cup.
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

still no word from PECO on outage
I went outside and turned off generator, checked the oil, it was fine, and started it back up.
very windy out
looked at PECO outage page, number of outages have increased and number of folks affected has increased.
this wind won't help at all

Good Morning to all who celebrate! 27° going to a high of 31°, wind advisory today. We seemed to have dodged the worst of the storms, but I can hear the wind whipping at the roof. No ice on the truck this morning.

Got the taxes done and dusted. Last year was the year I managed to cancel ACA coverage (What a pain in the *** that was to cancel) so this year is the last year that will take a bite out of me for it. Not much else got done this weekend, I'd like to schedule a chance to look at the house, but my boss's wife's grandfather is currently in hospice and appears to be on the last road. So he might have to run to take wife to see grandpa for the last time, and one of us always needs to be available. So I can hold of scheduling that until I hear more, gives me some time to see how the weather will shape up too.

Still need to look at the Farm Boss, get out and look at the mower for sale. Though I can do that just by getting off work early.

Prayers for all ailing or recovering!
Stay safe out there y'all! hope those impacted by the storm get the power back soon, what a mess! Enjoy the week!

ugh. What a storm, wind, and lots of rain, many trees down.
33 now, heading to mid 40's. Got a lot to do around here. Most interesting thing, and it is not good, we had water coming out of our electrical panel by the pool. That panel also feeds a few buildings. The ground is so super saturated the conduit actually was the path of least resistance all the way up three to four feet to the panel. Needless to say that tripped everything and shut down that side of the farm. We just have had too much water. Today I need to get that mitigated and get to the hardware store for supplies and parts.

Hope all have a good start to the work week. Be safe.

got my 40 pound propane tank filled, almost froze at TSC in howling winds out
got home to find that PECO finally updated their webpage, now says 300 out locally and 6pm to fix.

in weather this cold, I wonder if there is anything to be gained by turning off open frame gen for an hour to cool off.
I figure the ambient temp and wind chill will help that, but with full synthetic oil, anything to be gained by shutting down?
I already checked the oil, it's fine. So just going to let it run today

   / Good morning!!!! #203,417
Morning all, 30 going up to 33 and sunny, windy.
Lots of branches down.
One of our outdoor heaters fell, will need to take the top off and hammer it out.
Lots more Ash trees lost there tops, which is good.

Lots of trees down here means lots of power outages in other places.
Kids came here last night as a large part of town without power.

Went to an auction at the local golf club, nothing good so left. Went to look at some chairs for new kitchen setup, nothing found.
Drive home was getting pelted by branches and roads were covered in sticks.

Off to Home Depot to finally get the trim and items to put replace the panels we had to remove for the water leak. Nails and nail gun should be here Thursday, so will do prep work this week and finish this weekend.

Drew, I have left my genny run overnight more than once and it did fine.
And since you change oil regularly it should be able to run for days.
I should look at hours meter, I know my genny has quite a few hours.

Had to go clear leaves from the driveway trench, they get pushed down through the forest across the road and up the culverts from up hill.
Moved a few hundred pounds of wet leaves as the water was a few inches up over the driveway skirt.

Be well,

Another of the mini rivers, at one point the whole skirt had over an inch of running water.
I cleaned it up a bit more after I took this picture, but when I started it was solid leaves, I had cleaned it out less than a month ago. Water pushes the leaves into this trench from uphill.

Weather guy put us in the 12+ inches of snow zone for Wed/Thursday...but it always changes.
So that's where it's going. Our forecast is now no snow this week, after having 6" forecasted originally. Hope we get the 0".

Mostly, have a good trip home. My oldest was in AR this weekend, had to drive thru the storm front on the way there, got home last night.

Winds to die down today, not nearly as bad now.
