Good morning TBN
18 this morning going to a sunny 45.
Been a very difficult few weeks. Went to Ohio for a couple of weeks to bury my son. FEMA was supposed to be here during that time so I had to reschedule. And the furnace decides to crap out when lows are in the teens. Another $500 down the tubes. I am ready for the new year!

Have a great and safe day!

Morning all, 35 going to 39 and sunny.
Dog got her shots, just a little bit poorer.
Wife made cookies.
Talked to Dad GF about finances. Did not go too bad.

Happy NC, hope 2025 is much better for you. Our thoughts are with you this holiday season.

Dec 7th, hope the kids of today never have to go through that.

Well,, tree today and finish the lights out front, wish it was warmer, but at least the sun is out!

Be well,

Have to slow cook my teriyaki chicken that has been marinating all night. Lunch is at 12 but will start arriving around 11.

Been nice being so dry last few days. Folks will be panicking soon, after all we only have 164.19 inches ytd.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

errands run, landlord's two sons came over, super nice guys,
and immediately approved the wood fence I wanted to install.

164 inches of rain is just plain amazing David
that's way more than Hawaii's average

well of course that made me curious as to who was driest

  • Nevada (Annual Precipitation: 9.56 inches)
  • New Mexico (Annual Precipitation: 12.38 inches)
  • Arizona (Annual Precipitation: 12.61 inches)
  • Utah (Annual Precipitation: 13.57 inches)
  • Montana (Annual Precipitation: 14.33 inches)
  • Wyoming (Annual Precipitation: 14.39 inches)

I think one inch of rain every Wednesday night would be nice
with guaranteed nice weekends. And of course it must snow everywhere on
Christmas Eve.

Coffee has finished brewing. 27° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 37° with overcast skies. Not much happened around here yesterday. I did stay warm in the house all day. Need to change house water filters today. Also have deadbolt to install on cellar door. But that is on a outside door. May put off until a warmer day.
Still some leaves on tree limbs.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.
speaking of water filter, my MIL's house water filter needs changed, as water flow is noticably low. FIL had plumbed it in with PVC pipe, and has PVC ball valves before and after, but I couldn't get them to turn, and wasn't going to risk breaking anything on thanksgiving morning, so I left it alone.
I don't have a whole house filter, but should.

Never forget.
Good breakfast with most of the crew, went to local place this time instead of over the mountain. This afternoon is party at neighbors house, so no work for me today, just eating.
37deg.

that reminds me, I need to change my filters also.

Ted is not doing well. His wife is very sick.
I thought I had his home address but don't so
will email him and ask for it, and confirm ok
if others sends his wife a card.

I made a tool out of 1/2” aluminum to open and close PVC valves. There are tools for PVC valves on Amazon. But they are kind of expensive.

I realized I missed a good opportunity to find a forever home for my motorhome's oem living room jacknife sofa.
It is now hogging up a great deal of my very limited basement space, and is going to get ruined down there.
Still nice, beige pleather, I replaced it with conventional hideabed.
And I'm thinking, I bet Buckeye could find a use for that.
if only in his barn as a seat...
and he was here with a trailer.
Sigh.
sometimes you just don't think fast enough.
ok, perhaps better late than never.

I have one decent condition rv jacknife sofa I will give free to anyone who has a use for it,
as long as they come get it out of my basement.
It's not that heavy, and I can help.
Ken, for the garage? Popgadget, upstairs in shop?
I bet you could build a nice treehouse for your grandson with it... ;)

Our weather is a bit strange this year. Our friends, one gultch over, less than 10 miles as the crow flys is more than 20 inches less than us this year. Kailua Kona only averages about 20 inches per year.

can you imagine the treehouse Phil could build?
it would be a work of art

David, are you on the wet side of the mountain or just the wettest spot in Hawaii?
We are Windward side and not even wettest on island. Kauai is wettest in state.
I’ve seen it rain on East end of our property and not the West, rain above or below us. At 1100 ft elevation it flows downhill.

The 20 miles trip to town may be same weather whole trip or in and out of rain multiple times. Have some interesting roadside waterfalls at times. Makes for interesting.

didn't know there were such tools. I was thinking a large pair of channel lock plyers.
I have a couple that are down in a plastic access. Cannot get Channel Locks into hole. 12” long piece of aluminum cut to fit over valve handle. Works good.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.3C and it's presently 17.0C [heading to 23C], clear and calm. There was 2.5mm in the gauge @ 0700.

Yesterday I found out that my Sister had had a mild stroke a fortnight ago, but didn't realise it until a couple of days ago. She's now in hospital but texted me that she's 'fine'. That was followed by a video call with my Aunt to get the whole story... probably an operation once 'they' locate the blockage. <sigh>

I'm off to Church in a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.
