Good morning, the low is 41 and going to a high of 45°F. Wind W 11 gusting to 17 mph. 30% chance of showers/snow flurries.

My new hiking boots/sneakers came yesterday. A new brand to me, XPETI. Made in China, like everything else we buy.
I walked out of my Merrels, two pair, I bought them mainly because the were light, black,good on ice and warm. I usually get about 5 years out of a pair of Merrels. I switched to Merrels when Nike started thinking their sneakers were made of gold.
Before that I wore nothing but work boots. I do have a pair of Dickies steel toed, green patch work boots that have been worn once every year for the past 5 years. They look like new.
I stopped wearing work boots at the terminals when I saw the new Canadian truck drivers wandering around the terminals wearing sandals and those funny hats that are not hard hats. I think they call them turbines.

Time to get on with my day, might actually do something today.

Good morning! 71˚F this morning with light rain, South winds. we had a 1" rain Monday and .5" yesterday, grass is happy. We are heading to only 79˚ this afternoon as the light rain lingers and the clouds hang around. Short pants back on, windows closed and AC on.

I'll go look at the RAV4s today to see if that is what we want - kind of a scouting trip before I take the wife to look at them. Can't make a trade-in deal because the KIA is still being repaired. The Costco Toyota dealership is way on the other side of Austin and I'll give the local dealer the first chance to match it. I am looking at the gasoline models.

ScottVT don't forget to do you Shoulder PT on those margaritas and happy belated birthday. Looking forward to those beach pics.

good morning, 45 going to 66

Checked over the medical plans for potential changes. Staying in medigap F, vision and dental plans. Ran the yearly total (given the current medications) for prescription plans and looks like the current plan will also be the least costly for next year. So the only thing to do is set up reimbursements from company retirement benefits.
The excavator would not start so checked the battery and it is not maintenance free but actually have caps for filling distilled water. Filled it although had to use one of the bubble type fillers because of limited access. A couple of the cells very low. Recharged it on the reconditioned setting to see if it can be brought back to life.

45 outside this AM. Wow, it's still really warm. And super dry. Heard last night on the news MD has a state wide burn ban, including - outdoor grills. That would put me in a spot since I am a year round charcoal guy. LOL. Should be in the lower 70's today. I'll take it as I still have a lot of mowing to do. Managed to start in the back yesterday. Not thick, but tall and dry. Major dust clouds made it...different. I was wearing a decent mask and my standard mowing gear. Still have that alligator cough so cannot upset the lungs. LOL.

More of the same today on all other fronts. No movement on estates and what not. No movement on reno projects. Today should be mowing and more mowing. While next to the back forty yesterday, looks like the new neighbors moved in. I guess the housing market is pretty strong in this area, very pricey too. It changed hands, fast. I'll have to go introduce myself shortly.

Morning all, 46 going to 70, sunny, no rain.
Another tomato ripened

Started wife car shopping while working on getting old car hauled off.
Painful process which is now a rush and expensive.
Looked at a few mini-cooper S , 4 doors, pretty nice, dog would fit in the back.
But it is tight.

Another big branch fell in the front woods, hit another dead ash and it fell down. Still quite a few large ones to go before I can use the trails again though.

Found out the mirror backs change out since didn't like the ones on the blue car. These have lots of switches and buttons and big round displays and bling. Cert pre-owned, off lease.

Engine , new block is about $13,000, used would be 5000-8000, but was told not to bother as car is only worth 10K at best. We were hoping to get another 5 years out of it......
