Morning all, wishing all a smooth and easy time at the voting booth.

Don small suv easier to get in and out vs car, more senior friendly
Too bad Toyota or Honda don't make a "Texas Edition" like GM...
you have a good looking five star safety rated sport sedan and going to have to give up
a little zip going to compact suv. If driving excitement not an issue, then hard to beat Toyota hybrid.
The plug in versions can be more powerful and you likely do mostly local driving. And you have a garage.
Let us know how the Kia service went.

Happy, send that rain up here please.
My wife is wanting a new "car/suv" we have sat in a few and driven a couple of them she keeps coming back to the Chevy Equinox, I was extremely disappointed in the RAV4. There is absolutely no knee room in them because of the huge center console which has sharp corner were my knee rested against it..

That's good. I need to get some blown away yet..

concerning Medicare Advantage, I've heard they are more like an HMO, a little lower cost, but more restrictions.
That is why I went with a Medigap policy, no referrals needed any doc that takes Medicare which almost all do.

good morning, 48 going to 74 much warmer today

using mini split heat a little this morning.

Made a stew yesterday out of the pork roast and it was really delicious with lost of sautéed onions and mushrooms

turned the screws up on the jack posts and measured progress with the laser. Pretty much stuck without moving it much despite having 4 jack posts in a short span. Plan B is needed when I figure out what that is
Been using my mini-splits for heat off and on the last few weeks.

There are many different Medicare Advantage plans. My Advantage plan is a PPO2. Any Dr and no referral needed for a specialist. I can go to any pharmacy of my choice. Each state/area code has different rules for what a plan provides.
None of the Advantage plans for my state/area had those options.

In and out in minutes, took longer to drive to our polling place.

Heard close to half the county already voted early. Mailed in ballots.

Voting should be easier on people, should not be tens of peoples deep.

A few things shied me away from the Advantage plans. First, there are no preapprovals required for traditional Medicare. And no approved pool of doctors to limit your choices: almost all doctors take Medicare. If you do start with an Advantage plan and then decide to switch, you will not be allowed to if you have a pre-existing medical condition.

I've been voting by mail for a long time now. I mailed my ballot on Friday; yesterday I got a text message that it had been received and counted. Unfortunately there's no way to tell if it was counted correctly, but at least there is a paper ballet somewhere with my name on it in case a recount is required.

I went down to the school with the wife and it only took a few minutes.

No check on my identity and plenty of people can see the paper that you have to fill in and feed into the voting machine.

But it's done.

I won't do mail in after what my neighbor told me about people filling them in for Alzheimer patients and that when a formal complaint was put in, no one followed up.

May the best liar win  (not fond of politicians, though I have met a few good ones, and met some very, very bad ones)

Beautiful day out,

Good Morning
Nice day here in Raleigh after the fog burned off. It was foggy in PA when we left as well. They were reporting less than 1/4 mile visibility and 100’ ceiling.

Good thing I hand delivered my ballot to the courthouse weeks ago, maybe my vote will make a difference.

Won’t accomplish anything today other than shopping or sightseeing, should get back to Philly tomorrow around noon.

Woke at 4am to take a pee.
Next thing I'm going to be late handing in a history essay. I can't find my text books.
Ex-wife is pushing me to finish so she can type it up.
I'm in a huge wood panelled office sitting at an acre of oak desk. My friends have popped in for a couple drinks and I can't convince them I don't have the time.
Finally Pierre Elliot Trudeau comes in. It's his office. His security detail chases out my friends.
PET says I can use his office as long as I need.
I have the info now (?) but I've lost the sources for the quotations.
Just as I'm about to call it quits and just fail the class, I wake up.
Now I'll never know if I finished it or not.
Ruined my sleep and I'm just dragging my backside around.
Oh well! It's not like I've got a job to go to.

Be nice to each other because if you know who wins nice will be a rare commodity.

70°F and 6.57 inches rain. Good morning from Soggy Manor.

We were under flood watch all day, but areas to the south got it worse.

PC appointment went well. BP dosage increased. Fortunately, it was an early appointment and got home before the rains got bad and PC located north.

Harry Hour postponed. The road there impassable. I’ll post a pic. Yes, that’s the road lower left.

So an easy, energy conservation day.

Today an unknown. Don’t forget to vote.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

66°F and rain this morning, going way up to 69° today. Looks like the rain will continue for most of the day today. We got some really heavy rain in many places yesterday. The resulting flooding caused quite a bit of trouble for some people.

Pond is full again.

Suddenly getting an ad on here that scrolls up from the bottom and covers half the screen. That's more than a little irritating.

I never have much trouble at our polling place. I'm usually in and out in just a few minutes. I will leave work a little early today and stop on the way home, as I usually do.

I'll also be glad when this election is over and people can get back to arguing about normal things.

Good morning, gents.

I hate nightmares, don't mind dreams but nightmares I do NOT like.

That is the way I look at it too. I do vote the party, not the person. Our turn may come up before 2025 I hope. It depends on if the current liar steps down or not.

Back from the rainy trip to North Bay. Rain all the way both ways.
Gonna check the bank account and see if I can pay the Dodge off today.

Plan B is coming together

Cut up 4x4 posts into 18 inch pieces and stacked a tower under the lowest point of the beam.
Took 40 pieces to get up to height for the heavy screw jack to reach the beam. Using a 4 ft extension to turn the screw it is moving it. Stopped after moving up a little to get everything to relax for a week or so before going further
The beam is now supported by 2 towers with 2 screw jacks and 4 jack posts in a short 20 ft span. Should be able lift anything just about

Mowed some leaves, but wind picked up and is in wrong direction.
noticed ZT would turn left while in neutral position. Discovered loose bolt on the right stick where it connects to pivot point to push/pull the transmission rod. In essence that side wasn’t being kept in neutral when stick in neutral. Was hard to get wrenches on it to tighten, but got it with swivel and access with seat up. Fortunately the F side nut was still on, and was able to turn other side one click at a time with a ratchet. Had to move wiring connector to get socket on. The top plate that bolts on doesn’t give any more access if removed, it determines neutral position for the stick. There was about a quarter inch gap, now they are tight.

No experience myself, just have regular Medicare. If you remember our friend, John, his retirement insurance switched to an Advantage plan, caused all kinds of problems with his longterm prescription coverage. Took months to get resolved.

about 30 in line this time to vote, took about 20 minutes, no problem, fun that the young man behind me in line turned out to be
my partner's grandson.
we had fun catching up in line
you wrote your name down on a slip of paper and handed it to a second desk. And they gave you a ballot. Pretty small ballot, not much on it.
I said I have a tough name for you when I approached the older white haired lady. No you don't she said, you're Drew A.
She turned out to be my brother's best friend's wife.
small towns can be fun

got a replacement magnesium anode in for rv water heater, changed that out. In one year the rod was halfway eaten through, plus all kinds of white lumpy junk flushed out of
bottom of heater.
watered the gardens and found two new full size tomatoes, one red and one yellow. What a treat.

put some chicken in the oven to bake, need to make a salad and veggie for dinner.
