Probably won't get anything from Gov, so need kid to try and get scholarships and grants.

.....
With the first daughter I was shocked at how expensive college really was/is.

We spent months chasing down scholarships, best to start early. No grants. After we blew through our cash it was ParentPlus loans for her and her siblings.

The cost of the game is high. Look everywhere you can and then some for scholarship funds.

Morning all;
A nice brisk morning to start the day off with, a hard frost last night, we got down to 31F the low ground got down to 28F, calling for upper 50's this afternoon. A couple of more cool nights then a warming spell for a few days. My wife and I's anniversary today, a whopping 9 years for us, my second wife I'm her 3rd she has done buried 2 all ready.

Kind of a slow day for today waiting for Schwans truck for a delivery, they are going out of business last day for deliveries is Nov 8th. Then a trip to town for a bit of groceries and a stop at the Pharmacy.
Heading down to my little shop in a bit to try and find some bench surface, it is a mess to much hurry up and do something and get going without putting things away or throwing old parts away.
Came across 14 of the 16 old press in wheel studs that I had remove from a son in laws truck and had replaced for him, and an old wheel hub, I had saved the wheel hub as I had considered making a rotating parts/bolt bin.

All stay safe and get well, enjoy the day.

My college advice, is to look for a more affordable college. There is a huge price different for the same degree. Had a friend who was complaining about the cost of her son's history degree at a local private college. I told her you can get the same degree at college x for half the price, that was met with, "but that's further away. Momma wanted her son closer so he could come home on weekends. Now that he's graduated, he's working fast food last I heard, and living at home.....

I found filling out FAFSA was a waste of time, did it once and that was enough. My two never got a dime of help, but one is a computer engineer, now doing programming. The other is information systems now working on computer stuff. I told both if I'm paying, they needed to get a degree that they could get a job with.

for the most part, colleges aren't doing students any favors by offering worthless degrees. They are basically stealing money from students to support their system. The whole college system needs a complete overhaul. But it starts with people refusing to pay for worthless degrees, but that won't happen..

Did not have the luxury to choose a degree that was not aligned to a job back in my time even though there was no tuition
D went to Elon for college. Way too expensive. Should have insisted on a cheaper one
She went for master at George Mason doing it in two years working full time at a law firm paying her own way

Happy anniversary Lou !

We are looking at sending him to a cheaper college for two years and then the more expensive one.
Based on what we find out about financials.
Make sure the credits xfer.
Also....hard to do...make sure the career path matches the education undertaken.
One of mine switched majors....sigh...

69°F and .12 inches rain.

Productive, but slow day cleaning up the shop. Need to get that finished this morning.

Then I can move my attention and efforts to the tractorshed.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

verified already, We would save $35,000 due to him taking AP courses, 2 good so far and 1 to go, that he better do well on.
We save close to 100K by him going to the first school for 2 years instead of the full 4 years at the expensive one.

Can't believe we can even save 135,000, shouldn't even cost that much!

so if we keep putting money aside like we are, maybe a 20-40K loan at the end. Putting in 200K ourselves.

Scary....

Kyle, I think I would use rubbing alcohol (isopropanol alcohol 70%) rather than hydrogen peroxide on that scrape. But it also depends on how old the kid is and whether or not he can stand the sting. Topical iodine would work too, but again it depends on if he can stand the sting.

Was uneventful day with costco run the only highlight. OJ now comes in smaller bottles, 46oz in stead of 52 oz. They had already dropped from 4 bottles together to 3 about a year ago. Did pick up chinese food for lunch.

Paul, congrats on final for the old folks home.

68 degrees in Pensacola Beach Florida.
good drive over here and a wonderful time in the naval air museum.
did a lot of walking today, was amazed how big this place was and how many planes they crammed in there. Anyone who is into planes has to see this place.
Lot of folding wing aircraft carrier planes, I took so many pics. I'll start posting them later.

For now have a nice site near the beach
and already walked down to the tiki bar and had a double fruity something with lots of
coconut and pineapple juices. Bet that spiked my sugar count.
one of those was enough to send me back to rv for a nap.
