62 going to 76. Local weather man said last day of above normal. Should get to the 40s next 4 nights.

Don, that was a Chevy turkey...chasing your Ford.

Kyle, sorry you lost your white duck. Hope you catch the culprit.

I think we've said goodbye to the last hummingbird...none spotted for 3 days now.

Having a hard time typing this morning...coffee so good I can't put the mug down.

Wag, we haven't had our clock changing Sunday yet. Later this month, I think.

Did a dump run/hike/swim with Della and came home to tackle the splitter. Oil change pretty easy, but hydraulic fluid was tough. Manual says disconnect flexible hose from the fitting at the bottom of the tank. Was flexible last time I did it, but not anymore. It's a clear, wire reinforced tube over a 1.25" threaded pipe fitting with a barb. Wouldn't slip off after various tricks, but would twist a bit. So, I unscrewed the fitting from the tank side. Couldn't get but a couple of inches of throw and had to use a pipe as a cheater over the wrench, but it came off. Cleaned it up after 3 gallons of fluid gurgled out. Got too dark to finish, so back out this morning to change the filter and refill.

good morning, 52 going to 68 wet outside so must have rained some

Cody started pulling when taken him out, turning light up and here was the skunk again. Backed off very slowly.

D called from Berlin busy as always. She is taking on an incompetent manager. When her ire is up watch out

Removed the compressor from the van and slid the battery forward and finished servicing it. Had to use long extensions and swivel joints in tight quarters. Left the compressor out and will work on mounting it in a more work friendly way. The new flip work light turned out to be very handy since it can get down in very small cavities

good morning from Quanah Texas
Mostly, wonderful suggestions, I reprogrammed nav system to take me to
Walmart Supercenter in Gainsville, very close to where I turn South off 82 onto 35.
Makes better sense instead of backtracking as I was. I'm headed down 35 later anyway.

2 hours and 38 minutes on nav usually means about five or ten minutes longer if I stay, as I do, at 65-66. Stoplights, steep hills, lots of things slow you down. Coming through these small Texas towns, there is usually a good progression of speed limit drops getting you down to where they want you, often 35. I figure they were radar trap places but never saw any police. I always try to stick within 5mph of speed limit and so far have not had to deal with a school zone. I go irritatingly slow through those based on the faces of the car behind me.

I just drive through other people's small towns like I would through my own small town.
with respect
be a fool on the freeway but slow down in town

had to google time, didn't trust laptop though phone usually is...5:15am
these time changes are actually annoying
I wonder how folks do it when they live near the time line and constantly have to drive back and forth. Talk about confusing. My doc appt is in what time zone?...

I really do need to go food shopping. Trying to get healthy food though have been eating lots of blueberries every day.

good morning and good Monday.

Morning all,
First cup of coffee down, quess I'll get ready for the propane installers to arrive some time this morning. Between 8 AM to noon. Had a minor sprinkle of rain last night so all the loose dirt will be nice and slimy/slippery.

I used to live in Seminole Tx., that was just across the line from Hobbs NM., the state line was the time zone it wasn't bad, it became almost 2nd nature to add or subtract that hour. Always interesting to get somewhere before you left home, then a long "time" to get back home.

Stay safe and healthy or get well.

cattle trucks, I finally saw some cattle trucks.
Empty, had to look while at stoplight, and they were running 10 more than me, at the speed limit. I was looking out for them sucking my proverbial doors off going by but they were good drivers just getting there.

I have left the west coast hordes of EVs and now back in pickup truck land.
Though I bet I'll see some Teslas here near the cities

there is a disconcerting trend I'm seeing in gasoline octane ratings.
they are labeling 85 and 86 octane as regular, and 87 octane as mid grade.
how can they do that?
I'm paying 40 cents more a gallon to maintain 87 octane

are there really vehicles that run fine on 85 octane?
seems like bait and switch to me

and as far as fuel, time for breakfast

up early, now just finished eggs, muffin, and cottage cheese. Trying to get more protein in my diet. Just saw the weather for englewood Florida. That’s where dad is. He has never evacuated, don’t think he will this time. Doesn’t care what I think about that. I will call him in a little bit. 90 years old a stubborn as hell.

Going to spend some time in my shop today, I have been busy and my shop has gotten cluttered. Does my mind good to be in there.

Good Morning.
62° and overcast, but no rain forecast. High in the low 70’s as it becomes mostly sunny.

Yesterday was another day of minor progress. Started out with getting the drone out to take pictures of neighbors corn mazes, I did a few here while I was at it.

One of them is a true maze, the other is for little kids, if they follow the path, they will come out the exit.

I set the elevation and pitch for a 4” pipe under the new walk for the downspout, did a batch of trash cleanup, split up all the cedar siding scraps for kindling with a hatchet, I filled a large trash can with it, seems like a good way to store it.

Swept out the old folks home, installed the washer and dryer
In the laundry room (closet actually), did a few drywall repairs before the walls get painted. That was probably a waste of time, I’d bet that the painter is better at it than me.

Concrete is coming at 8am, rebar needs to get placed first, but other than that it’s ready to pour.

Paul, nice drone shots, looks like it’s coming altogether!

BREAKING NEWS...NY GAINTS WON :D(y)🍷 BREAKING NEWS.
GM Thomas, quite an ending wasn’t it ? 😉
are there really vehicles that run fine on 85 octane?
GM Drew, probably my 1930 Ford Model A. Coupe ! 😉

Woke up to rain, and it should clear shortly ! Will be packing up and heading north this morning. Hope to get one more fall boat ride out on the boat ! Will also bring the trailer down to the marina to pull it for winter shrink wrap and storage !

Hope to get a little shop time in over the next few days !

Hope all have a good start to their week ! 🙏

Morning all, 63 going to 73 and partly cloudy.
Spent a few hours with the brush cutter in the back area taking down some brush where two big Ash trees finally shed their largest branches. Had to wait since I didn't want to get slammed by falling tree parts. Will need to get back there in the winter and move out all the fallen wood.

Started rebuilding the fire pit and later on took a trip to get some apples.

So dry I lost some more ground cover plants, need to keep watering different areas each day.

Nice Mazes PopGadget. House is looking great.

Be well,
Solebury orchards, where they make the donuts and cider

Next area to clean up. Now is almost done.

Good morning! 60s to 90s cloudless skies.
I painted one level of the fountain but forgot to read the instructions of 7 days of dry time. looking at the forecast I should be OK.

My driveway cam caught the turkey chasing the truck into the garage.

PT soon.

Good Morning to All who celebrate! 62 heading to 69 with sun here, some rain last night but not enough to wash the truck off.

Mowing all caught up, branches all cleaned up with the grapple. When I reached for the first one, the grapple decided it no longer wanted to be attached to the SSQA mount, a few minutes of sweating and cursing later with the help of my kindly next-door neighbor got it back where it should be. No damage but lesson learned, make sure the levers are HARD down.

Work is picking up, everyone wants to get the projects they've put off done before they stand tall before The Man (Budget meetings) to show they've done something. sigh.

The goals for this week are to pull the log splitter out from its hole and prep it for production. Need to reach out to my logging team (My buddy and his brother) to see if they're free this weekend. I have a few requests for some firewood that need to be resolved. Also need to get the snow-pusher set up to where the steel parts won't contact the new sealcoat or else I'll hear about it. Rather do that now when it's in the sixties and sunny than 28 and dumping snow.

Hope everyone has a good week! Enjoy the day y'all!

pretty sure I won't be going out of my way to see one of the major
attractions of quanah texas. The Big Sneaker
If you make it up to Hutchinson, KS you can see the world's largest ball of twine. Ask me how I know. 😀

Everyone have a great day !!!

69°F and 0 rain.

2 out of 3 yesterday. Football and grilled pork. The mower lost out to energy conservation. No complaints registered so will try again today.

Happy Hour via zoom today. A chance to maybe catch up with some of the off island contingent.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good morning! Low of 43°, high today supposed to be 78°. Sunny.

Drew, sorry you couldn't get your steak dinner. I bet you can get a good recommendation in the area.

Wng, glad you got to go hiking with Della. Haven't seen the hummingbirds here since last Friday. The regular birds have decreased in numbers too, only filling the feeders about once a week now.

Ken, it still looks like a lot of clearing/ cleanup. Definitely a good idea to wait for that ash tree to stop flinging stuff at you!

Planters, drip irrigation, and mulch all done. Will probably spread some more mulch later in the week. The GS will be on fall break, so no runs down to the university after tomorrow. It will be a nice break from driving.

Dona's back went out. She felt something 'pop', now has bad sciatica nerve pain. Being stubborn as usual, won't get checked out. She has dealt with it before, just not as bad as this time.

So, been trying to take on the domestic aspect too...

Everyone have a great start to the week!

a very pleasant drive to Gainsville TX this morning and a successful trip to walmart.
Came down the back road to this campground at the top of Lake Ray Roberts.
another gravel parking lot but this is nicer.
Will get a chance to get ebike out tomorrow and check out the water nearby, trails lead to it.

going to take a long hot shower and then a nap.
Will then call Mostly and see what he is doing.

/ Good morning!!!! #197,638
no nap but shower was wonderful
checked in with friend in Fort Meyers FL, they are going to get a hosing; looks like
worse for Tampa

not a good design for this site. They put the septic connection way too far to one end.
I parked, got everything set up and even with two hoses would not fit.
Undo everything and back up five feet, to a much less level part of spot.
That worked, though it meant bringing out the blocks for the rams.
my awning is just about in the road; thinking I might go bring that in a little.

maybe then a nap

good afternoon.
Bad night, couldn't sleep. sat in chair most of night, finally fell asleep when it was getting light out. Late start to the day after that.

Unplanned costco run, they had water and TP this time.

Agent contacted me regarding VA land, neighbors did come up on their offer a little, so we will probably accept it and sell. Am investigating tax implications. owned over a year, so LTCG tax at 15% probably. Then need to investigate any state taxes.
Maybe I can talk wife into a cabin on the farm in Ohio.... I wish. But it's 1 1/2 more hours away than VA.

Did buy some 2x6s to build better steps for dad's porch. Right now using concrete blocks as steps, with some on boards that wobble a bit.

Lou, propane tank close to the house.

Drew, glad more safe travel.

PopG, looking good, when is move in date?

Mostly and Drew, when is the bicycle race? :ROFLMAO:

found another dead tree fell down along me treeline.

Grass growing very fast.
