Good morning!!!!

Had no plans for day except to mow.
Wet this morning, sat on porch and thought I should sand the wood filler I put on porch posts months ago.
Started sand with dewalt orbital, and the pad disintegrated. Ordered new pad, and a Bosch 18v sander to go with my batteries.
So decided to prime a couple posts, ended up just doing all 10, even without sanding. Was glad I didn’t have to paint the little porch I visited in MI.
Couple posts getting bad at bottom.
Then I mowed. Grass very tall and thick.
As I got done, used ranger to pick up some stuff wife had trimmed. Ranger kept stalling. Gas is probably very old. Put some sea foam in.
Then lite some charcoal in fire pit. Then threw some old wood on.
Ended up doing hot dogs on grill.
Now sitting around the fire

My wife and I just got home from having supper with her son, as we were driving home the sun was setting leaving and orange glow in the sky with that little crescent moon and the bright "star" close to it, I'm not sure if it's the planet Venus or not but it was an interesting sight.

Today, I think I have to admit to getting old ☹️
Has taken me most of the day to fix Sophie’s BX. Granted, actually replacing the universal joint pin for the 4wd was maybe 10 minutes and only that long because I dropped the washer, cotter key, or both so many times. But I couldn’t get to that point with the mower mounted, just not enough room for my hands or body.

Instructions say to engage the front wheel drive to unmount the drive over mower. No instructions if that is the broken part. And I’m here to verify the tractor will NOT back over the mower with just rear wheel drive. You have to get the front wheels on top the ramps. Old fashion floor jack and FEL took care of that. 🤙 Of course, I misread the instruction and disconnected wrong parts, adding to my frustration and time. Of course I finally got mower unmounted, drive pin installed and the mower frame reinstalled. Deck is all cleaned up, ready to be greased, and remounted, but I’m toast. Just getting up and down each side of tractor was wearing. This should have been an easy half hour job ☹️ oh well, at least I’m still capable of complaining LOL.

Morning all!
39 going to a beautiful high 60's today.
After 5 hours of pulling, pushing, tugging and cussing! The 16 foot bottom door gasket on the unattached garage is replaced! All three doors are now done! Today will be sitting on the couch or front porch recuperating from all that work! I'm sure my cousin, who helped me. Will be in the same or worse shape.
Possible rain tomorrow so I should do some leaf pickup but don't think that will happen!
Did manage to get the oil and filter done on the Kubota this week. Good for another year! Still need to grease the loader. Have a whole 260'ish hours on it.
Chilling on the couch waiting for the coffee to finish.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

waiting for coffee to finish, sounds like the beach and wild surf outside. This should make for challenging driving this morning with 30mph gusts. Going to have to go extra slow. Heating pad on neck last night really helped and slept well.

off to Amarillo later this morning for lunch and then on to Quanan Tx.

good morning all from Clayton NM.

54 here, too. Should see 79.

Irv, welcome back. Look at what you started 13 years ago - now 197 thousand posts!

BEF, sorry you have those lantern flies...I've been reading about them, but had never seen one until I visited my son's house in Crozet last month. They seemed to be knocking the stink bugs out of position for trying to get into the house. Nice fire.

Buppies, hope you can get some sleep.

Scott, how was the museum?

Ken, you don't seem the type to get thrown out of a bar. Did you tell your son that story?

The wind picked up early and dried things, so rather than change the splitter fluids, tackled the fast growing grass with the mower and string trimmer...then it was puppy play time. Della doesn't seem crazy about the frisbee like Coco was, but loves playing soccer, and is real good at heading the ball. I always win, though, because she doesn't know the rules.

53F partly cloudy day mid 60's for high.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...catch up on leave control  maybe watch little NASCAR and football.

Enjoy your day all.

Scott, how was the museum?
GM Wngsprd, the kids loved it ! All kind of things that kept them fascinated for almost 4 hours ! By that time Opa and Nana had pretty much had it ! 😉

Off to church this morning ! Hope all have a blessed day ! 🙏

good morning, 49 going to 74 looks to be a nice day

Worked on filling the house battery in the van with distilled water. Should be an easy job. First problem was had to fabricate a tool to get into the slots for the caps and next there was no access to the rear plug. I am with you Dave getting older is part of it. Had installed it but I was not able to lift it out for access. There is an air compressor in the way for sliding it so plan B is to remove it

Wife's easy chair would only go up and not return. Tilted it up to get under it and checked it out. Fiddled with the connections and turned power off and on and came back to life.

Irv, was up near you last week. Thanks for starting the most popular thread on TBN.
Hi guys, I’ve been away quite awhile. Took me quite a bit to figure out how to log in. It’s going to take me quite some time to catch up here. I hope everyone is ok.

Good Morning
47° for the start, should finish around 72 under clear skies.

Yesterday started on the Lazer doing all the trimming, then took the string trimmer for a long walk. Went to local grass airport with son and grandson for lunch, grandson watched the biplanes and gliders take off and land. Their tow plane is a Pawnee painted like Dusty Crophopper, so he loves watching.

Spent some time with Zoe outside, didn’t accomplish much on the old folks home, but the break was nice.

Gig at the winery went really well, the audience was very engaged, and liked what we played, kept them on their feet. And….. we were well fed, and everyone got a bottle of wine.

Thanks for stopping by, I've been gone for too long.

Been busy. Work is almost too fast paced for this guy....fixing this, fixing that, lecturing about cnc machining to 80 students (8 at a time), meetings...things to machine.

I hope I haven't missed anything major.

Drew, start taking your allergy meds....things are in the red zone down here. Also, fill your pockets with cool air. Forecasters saying 60/90F late this week. Drive safe!

Prayers for the storm victims. I'm hearing horror stories. Refrigerated trailers of bodies. Seems the money to assist has been given abroad. Also, something fishy going on reported by private helicopter owners trying to get emergency supplies into the area.

Don, sorry I missed the sale. We like coming. I had to watch my football team play yesterday, they got a W.

We forgot to close our chicken coop gate 1 night, and our white duck is missing. He was my favorite. Need to set a trap for whatever predator. Now the Mallard is lonely.

Prayers for our team, our nation, the storm victims, Ukraine and ****** and the sick.

working on my 2nd cup of coffee, it’s 67 and sunny out. Have to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s to find some patio stones, I’m creating a walkway to the barn/ shop. My young neighbor came over and took out a stump, all while I was at a party at our doggy docs. Hope everyone has a good day!
