good morning, 54 going to 75 cloudy conditions

The new stove will be installed today. Hope they have some strong help because it is heavy.

The chestnut clean up crew was busy yesterday about a dozen or so. Walking Cody in the dark this morning the light from the headlight lit up the eyes all around getting ready for first light to snack.

The seedlings planted earlier in the year for wife have turned into attracting the Hummingbirds just like she wanted

Happy belated anniversary Ken and also happy birthday to L4N

59 outside this Am, heading to mid 70's.

Last day of dry from what the weather wizards are saying. We are under draught warnings, have been for a while.

Lots of busy stuff on the to do list. Including grass.

Have to chuckle about the animal counts, last night again the deer population decided our pastures were the event location. Over 15 this time and if the eyes were not playing tricks, probably more. LOL.

Hope all have a great start to the work week. Be safe,

Good morning! 68˚F heading to the mid 90s N wind.

Yea! Today I start out-patient physical therapy and Thursday is the last day of mandatory sling wearing. The Magic number is 6 weeks that is when I can test the limits and get back in the pool, if its not too cool.

It was 99˚ yesterday and the pool water temp warmed up to 88˚

Two armed projects lists is getting longer but will have to wait 3 1/2 more weeks, don't want to mess the shoulder up after the good surgery.

M7040, Scott, Thomas, Newbury, Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Being retired has its' perks. But so does working.
What I take home in a month now, I used to take home in one week when I was working. I was clearing over 10 grand/month when I was working and still have the $1200.oo/ month in the winter.
I didn't collect unemployment insurance in the winter and that way I had a bigger income tax rebate in Spring.
IF you are a 'frequent flier' on UI then after three consecutive years of collecting they want 35% of your income tax rebate and they take it right off the top. I got bitten once on that and said never again.
I got the goobermint to take more income tax off my CPP and OAS in the 4 months I worked (90%) and 30% the rest of the year and consistently got a rebate of 9-12,000.oo
That is how I paid for the BH cash and the following year paid cash for the Z-turn.
UI only takes 14% off for income tax, that might come back to bite me in the butt, that is the chance I am taking as I need the added cash right now to (a) cover bills and (b) continue my life style.
The sick benefits run out in November and I can go on regular UI until next May at which time all the benefits are finished.
IF my game plan works I will be going back to work in May, probably at a lower rate than tanking, but that is life. It certainly is better than the alternative, pushing up daises.

Good morning. Cooler weather here is a welcome change. It has been about 3 months since I lost my dog. I think about her and still look for her to be by my side. I have a scheduled trip to pick up a new puppy this week. We will see how that goes. I guess "moving on" are the words that come to mind.
Looks like another nice day.

morning all, 57 going to 78.
Took dog to peddlars village, they have a scarecrow competition, lots of good ones out this year.
Wrote a bunch of checks for son, choir, school dues, guitar making class materials, first of the senior trip payments.

Drew - if you go through tolls in California, they use fastrak. We called them and did a single pay account. You give them payment info, as you go through tolls they get deducted (we used a credit card) and no issues. If they mail them to you I thing there is an additional charge. We had a rental which meant either paying $90 up front, or penalties for each toll they received. So we did single pay, Cool that you and Plowhog got to meet up.

L4N - Happy Birthday !

In the last few days I have seen at least 5 different bucks, it's getting crowded here.

Be well,

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 5:30AM. Partly cloudy this morning, then becoming cloudy during the afternoon. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 72F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Winds were too high yesterday to take down any trees, so I just worked the list. Tackled several repairs, got to stopping points needing a part or a tool, but didn't finish any. Then noticed that some of the lights in the great room, and the guest bathroom, weren't working. So I'm doing a lot better of adding things to fix on the list than I am at crossing them off.

I did get a Marketplace hit from a guy that says he wants eight pallets of firewood, but I need to check this morning to see if I have that much left. I think I only have ten, or maybe just eight, and four of those are already spoken for.

Hope everyone gets their week started off on the right foot.

good morning all
lot to catch up here...
I slept great last night, was quiet here, and chomping at the bit to get to California. Though when I drive out of here, the end of the road is just over the CA line.

Bill, after having a medical event, every birthday is extra special.
Totally enjoy yours.

Mostly, looks like you and I need to have a quiet, ever so quiet..., chat about tinnitus. I want your tips on how to make it go away. Mine has been solid on for four years. They say I have Menieres. ? Not sure they know.

I could not make this drive without latest tech noise cancelling headphones.
The road noise is amazingly loud when I take them off because that rotational noise is in the bandwidth that enervates my tinnitus, and oh my.
I have three headsets in this rv, not taking any chances...

hmmm, seems I need to spread the rv repair work around, can't let RNG have all the fun... anyone good with fiberglass? Like where I backed it into the post up in Michigan? two inch by three inch spot needs final smoothing.
by someone who has done this more than I.

and speaking of backing into things, the camera on the rv is awful. Low rez, faded out, just not good. So I ordered a new color camera few days too late for today's back up wedge job, but will at least have it. Magnet mount, solar powered, no wiring at all. My challenge is a mostly fiberglass rv and they don't provide a bracket. It will arrive at my sisters's and RNG and I can eyeball it.

all you guys with lots of deer, be careful with ticks. Lyme's disease is not good.

Mowed almost all grass yesterday nose running eyes swelled shut when I got up

Glad you are feeling better sodamo

Prayers for all our Country

I've been known to patch a fiberglass fairing or tank in the past, Drew. If things go according to plan later this week, I'll have the big compressor working on the back porch just the other side of the wall from where you'll be parking, and smoothing, and maybe painting, that boo boo shouldn't be a problem. Seems like our lists are better at growing than shrinking?

At least maybe your trip over the Sierras won't be as windy as it would have been yesterday?

And I eyeballed that RV park by the Bay. Looks more like a parking lot than a camp ground, but will work just fine if you'll be staying at your sister's. Just try not to add anything to the list when shoehorning that rig into the slot. Maybe the campground host will spot for you?

feet were getting cold, floor of rv cold, no surprise when 41 out, high of 61 here in Verdi. High of 69 in Greenbrae CA where I'm headed so on go the jeans and warm shirt
and a jacket too when I head out to dump the tanks

I've been thinking about my hookups later today.
any of you with boats that understand what a Mediterranean mooring is like, backing into the slip with no sides on it and attaching at the far rear.
That's what this rv slip is like. I'm going to Med moor...

I'm guessing I'll get out and look about three times, will try to line up driver's mirror edge with one of those red logs they've got out there.
doing this without a wife/other really is a challenge. I also don't want to crunch my ebike back there. Probably will have just enough room to walk behind rv to the fence. This is definitely a first. And only for my sister

meanwhile I hope to take a ton of pics of old tractors later this morning.

RNG, I'll be staying onboard every night, always do.
who else to guard against the mice??

Drew-- hope you have a "high revving morning!!" Looks like good weather. As you drive up Donner Summit, notice the recent road repairs. When pulling the grade in snow conditions, the chained up trucks, over time, grind ruts into the concrete. Those ruts can get quite deep just like in a dirt road except this is concrete. This is the first repair job I remember where they sawcut only the rutted part out and poured new concrete. So there are strips of concrete miles long. Before, they would re-do the entire road surface instead of just strips. Maybe a budget thing?

Ron, wngsprd, ken, and others- great pix Thanks!

Today is flood irrigation day in NV. I don't need water all day since it is cool, so I'll mow Rigby's temporary pen and the main pasture before starting.

Everyone have a great day !!!
