Good morning!!!!

Pleasant 72° and an easterly breeze.
Neighbors getting their oil tank filled, I get to smell the truck exhaust. Guy did poor job backing into their drive, from mine. Didn’t get the ass end of the truck over enough, so had to keep backing, pulling up, backing, pulling up into my grass, backing, pulling further up on my grass to get it in there.
Anyway nice cool day for new geo unit to put out 38° air on the first test.
Didn’t get one hose tight enough, leaked a little water.
Starting to put ductwork back together.

Old unit already bolted to pallet and in the barn

Wasn’t as hard as expected, slid it out in the pan, tilt one side and throw a couple blocks under, then slid over edge of pan onto a dolly. Good thing I still have the handicap ramp into garage. Reverse order for the new install.

Nice, glad the job went well.

The ductwork reinstall will be a pain, especially my homemade return plenum. I had to partially disassemble it to cut the tape that sealed inside the old unit. Probably won’t tape it this time, or try to tape from outside.

not a bad drive today, but honestly pretty boring after I left the mountains.
I was looking forward to seeing something, a cow or two...
safe and sound in Evansville WY, just east of Casper.
And I get to put a new state sticker on the map.

very nice campground despite being dry and gravel. Everything is spotless and I have a load of wash going in their very nice laundry.
Campground is next to North Platte River, and they have an attractive
gazebo by the river to sit, chat, barbecue, whatever.

time for a late lunch

Got upstairs ductwork back together. Need to insulate some. Just need return plenum and heat coil wiring.

Smells in the room, I’m hoping it’s the glycol from dumping some water, and not Freon.

Should finish tomorrow, but I could run it now.

sure shouldn't, pex clamp on pex hose only
I wonder how many pennies they saved

I don’t think that they were actually PEX clamps, but rather Oetiker hose clamps. They are actually pretty high quality when properly installed with the right tools.

68°F and no rain

Not a particularly productive day yesterday. Heavy on energy conservation. Did watch football and I did get pulley back on BX. Thanks Bill, will have to pickup some Loctite.

Should get more mowing in this morning

Happy Hour at neighbor’s this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
Do NOT use it with nylocks. Ya gotta use real nuts with it. Blue will come off with a wrench. Red you will have to heat it up first.

no matter what the quality using them on soft hose just doesn't work.
or at least this model of them. This is a huge industry wide problem.
What is annoying is they use good pex clamps and cable for the main supply line but then went this direction for what branched off that, likely because it was more pliable than pex.

I stared at four fittings yesterday that looked perfectly fine and were dripping water with no way to tighten.

it's been spitting a little rain here but it evaporates. I think the humidity is so low, it says 22% in the rv

I am going to a Little America rv campground tomorrow that is part of a larger truck stop, but they have a hotel I have to check in to, and then be escorted back....ok. what was so strange is the zip code they give is not listed by garmin and they show their address as Route 80, exit 68, but no street address. And the zip code was not listed by Garmin.
hmmm
so I called and the lady said our address is route 80, exit 68 to which
I replied ma'am that's directions not an address.
Well that's all we have. ok
apparently they are the only thing at this exit
I'm hoping I can get some food at their restaurant, getting tired of my own cooking.

two gigantic lux fifth wheels came in, with the appropriate brand name
of Luxe... They need F-450's to pull them, the toy hauler weighs 27k:oops:

You are correct Drew, nothing else there.
Used to be TBN member that lived just south of I80 out in that area. Retired truck driver, yellow freight

We stayed at Rawlings once, little more in that town.
