Popgadget I have a 10' wood attic stairs in the garage and need to replace it because it is too heavy and awkward, I need to stand on a separate ladder to close it. Do you have some pics of you attic stairs/ladder? I would like to remove just the wood stairs, leaving the existing wood frame opening and door, and replace with an aluminum stairs or ladder that I can handle by my self.

PM sent with pictures

Field is cut! Had to go over it 2x. I have to check the blades.... should have easily done it in one pass.

Also finished up the small front yard areas with the garden tractor.

Didn't get to finish with the string trimmer due to getting chased in by a t-storm. The big tractor was left outside to put the loader back on.

Got a 1/4" out of the storm. Took the opportunity to get loader on and the tractor put away. Closed up the garage and it started raining again. Thank you Mother Nature for washing the dust off the tractor!

Radar shows a few more storms possibly coming our way.

Time for pizza!
Everyone have a quiet evening.

The classes for farm stock are strictly by weight and original factory rated PTO Hp.
You can enter any and all classes you are legal for, we only ran in the 4500 pound class we could have added a 1000 pounds to each tractor and ran them in the 5500 pound class, but neither of use is up to slinging a thousand pounds back and forth among tractors and classes. But many will run in 2 or 3 classes. Once in awhile someone will try to run in the enhanced class (hot rodded) with a "stock" tractor but it doesn't work well.

Class 1 - Stock - Under 4,500 lbs. & under 49 PTO hp. 3000 RPM
Class 2 - Stock - Under 5,500 lbs. & under 49 PTO hp. 3000 RPM
Class 3 - Enhanced - Under 6,700 lbs.
Class 4 - Stock - Under 6,500 lbs. & under 80 PTO hp. 3000 RPM
Class 5 - Stock - Under 8,000 lbs. & under 102 PTO hp. 3000 RPM
Class 6 - Enhanced - Under 8,200 lbs.
Class 7 - Stock - Under 9,500 lbs.. & under 102 PTO hp. 3000 RPM
Class 8 - Stock - Under 12,000 lbs.3000 RPM
Class 9 - Enhanced - Under 9,700 lbs.
Class 10 - Stock - Under 14,000 lbs.3000 RPM
Class 11 - Enhanced - Under 11,200lbs
Class 12 - Enhanced - Under 13,700 lbs.
Thank you for explaining. (y)

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.9C and it's presently 19.5C, clear & calm. There was 3.8mm in the gauge from a brief t-storm yesterday evening.

These mild/warmer temperatures, especially for late Winter, certainly are confusing. All the signs of Spring are happening; spring birds have returned, such as the Welcome Swallows and a small 'field flock' of Flame Robins. My wild Snowdrop plants are also in bloom.

I discovered that our Church's, somewhat public, handicapped toilet' cistern & related plumbing was broken. Fortunately, whoever or whenever it happened managed to turn the water off. (and nobody did a #2) Anyway I've locked the toilet block and will call 'our' plumber later today.

My shoulder is not happy this morning.
I feel for you, Mate. Although nowhere near your injury, my Left shoulder has developed one of those, "It only hurts when I do this, Doc." niggling pains. Bugger.

Well, that's about it, take care all.

I should also add that every pulling association and pull will have some what different rules and specifications as to what is "stock" and whats not. And some pulls will even start at 3000 pounds and go up in 500 pound increments.
This fairs pull they had changed the drawbar requirements slightly, the pull point were the sleds chain hooks to the tractor had to be a 3 1/2" diameter hole for the sleds hook to fit, previously it had to be 2 3/4". The pulling sled for this season had upgraded to a larger hook requiring a change to the drawbar spec. More then a half a dozen tractors had to go off the track after backing up to the sled and try to find a way to open the hole for the hook many could open it up with a cutting torch a few couldn't hook.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, the low is 59 and going to a high of 84°F. Wind calm. Sunny.

I am up too early, but the good thing is that I can go back too bed and score another couple of hours later.

I may install a rear work light on the Kioti today while the BH is on. Then I wont need a ladder. Junior can lift the roof off if it is needed, in order to install a new relay.

I looked at the construction of Arrow carports (which with the right tarps I can make into enclosed shelters) and I don't like the prices. Seems to me that I didn't like the prices the last time I looked at them. :(
On to Shelter Logic portable garages, a smaller version of what I have now. I have the alpine roof shelters (they shed snow easily) and I am thinking a more rounded roof line. My neighbour has one that he keeps his Firebird in.
I may just end up building a platform to drop the Hoe on and cover it up with tarps like I did last winter.

Ron, nasty looking sky! Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
56 out now, going up to 87 today in sun and clouds
and I can't wait to get to endodontist this morning, still can't chew on that side
I have to look at the bright side, glad this happened before I left vs trying to find a doc
on the road.

meanwhile trip food is ready and will finish packing today
also need to cut back beans and pull down one tomato plant that is not going to last.
will have some beans tonight, am surprised they produced for so long

I always try to leave the house nice when I leave for a while. Will leave outside water on but will turn off
inside, plus will turn off the hot water heater. My brother said sure to coming over in early October to switch the thermostat
from cooling to heat, so got that covered.

hope you all have a good start to the week

Autumn in August has ended...64 going to 91, with increasing humidity.

Mostly, that's too hot for a 6+ hour ride!

Sounds like Rigby is having fun...I bet that fence slam would make a good video.

Lou, neat that you drive in tractor pulls. I enjoy watching those.

Gave the blade trimmer a good 2 tank workout Saturday. Still need to clean up all the brush laying on the ground. It gets a little lighter after it has dried a couple of days.

Grabbed a chance to go to mountains yesterday for the last pleasant day for a while. Hiked an incredible area (if you're into geology, like me). I only saw 3 other hikers in over 12 miles on a Sunday...however, it is remote and steep getting into the canyon.

65 outside this AM, heading to upper 80's.

Got home late last night, from middle daughters. Her big move day will be Friday with friends. We gave up a few items and I did the tool thing for her. Gave her a Weber grill (to carry on the charcoal tradition) as a back porch present. Along with all the needed utensils, of course. She has a nice layout on the house and property.

Nothing accomplished on our house front, except for care of the animals. This week the plumber may come by for final Milk House hookups. Our projects here have always been on the months and years timelines to finish.

Hope all have a great start to the work week. Be safe.

   / Good morning!!!! #195,575
good morning, 64 going to 84 no rain in the forecast for the next many days.

Watered some of this years planted bushes by getting a small stream running from the hose and leaving it at the base of the bush for an hour per plant. Amazingly there was no run off and it all disappeared into the ground.

The yard hydrant at the barn is leaking under ground and making the ground around it very soggy. Turned off the water from the house but will have to look at today. May just be that the rod pushing down on the under ground valve will have to be adjusted at the valve handle. If not time to dig it out

Sorry Wag that you also have shoulder problems. I am adapting to my limitations but sometimes slip up

   / Good morning!!!! #195,576
How is your knee coming along, Don?

Knees are doing well. No limping no pain. They are not as good as the originals when I was 20 but a lot better than 65 year old knees. Can’t kneel easily or bend them as far. I’m hoping the shoulder will come out as good as the knees.

Good Morning,
Ct, 62 going to 81, with pretty high humidity! Possible late afternoon thunderstorms!

Do you run rear tire weighted?
What do you run for rear tire air pressure?
Thomas, that is a widely held secret number, not to be divulged! 😉😀

I usually enjoy visitors and have a fairly wide open schedule.
Lou, thanks ! My life seems very busy since having grand kids ! Hoping things will slow up a little when they are old enough to enter kindergarten! 😉

Hoping to go for an early morning walk before it gets to hot.

Wngsprd, was that a copper head ?

In the north east we only have copper heads and timber rattlers , and not to many of those !

Hope all have a good start to their Monday! 🙏

Good Morning
62°, 90% RH under a hazy sun, highs in the upper 80’s.
Summer isn’t done with us, even if it’s the first day of school around here.

Yesterday I finally got back to the little plane and made some progress. Decided to put new spark plugs in, they were all a bit worn, one had an out of tolerance resistor. At $48 each I thought for a while about replacing them all vs only the failed one. Didn’t find much else wrong, got the oil screens cleaned and the oil changed.

Did some more cleanup in the old folks home, drywall dust is pretty pervasive. I have a nice Stihl shop vac (made by WAP) that filters very well. That means that I had to clean the filters at least 6 times as the performance degrades pretty quickly and noticeably. But the worst of the dust has been sucked up.

Wife was picking out wall colors laying the tile and hardwood samples on the floor and looking at color charts. I told that I was as concerned about the paint color as she was with the boiler specifications (which I poured over for weeks). I’m not sure how well that was received. It’s going to be light, neutral colors anyway, whatever she picks will be fine.

Today, it will be more punchlist stuff, painters are going to prime everything starting tomorrow. We need to make a Costco run, I’ll probably not get back to the little plane today, spark plugs should be here tomorrow, and the painters will have taken over the place, making it a good time to go to the hangar.
